I grew up taking most flights on JetBlue; I remember maybe 2 times flying Southwest and exactly once on what was either United or American- I was VERY young so I don’t remember it clearly; and I always thought JetBlue was the “nicer” one compared to most airlines, not ifancy/i like the one time I went on Virgin, but inicer/i and ergo pricier Especially considering how crappy my experience with Southwest was(both times) Not to mention my most recent time on a plane iwas/i with JetBlue, and it was still freakin’ expensive!!

All that is true but we have to add that this is not the case for all the flights that those companies operate (especially now 7 years after that video was posted) They are still cheaper than the major airlines but its more likely to find tickets around the 100 euro mark, without any baggage or luggage A revision of the current state of the airline industry would be a great video

They're not actually that cheap, because you have to pay if you want to choose your seat, you have to pay 2 euros every time you look out the window, 10 euros to go to the toilet, 100 euros if you need a decent size bag By the time's all said and done, you're lucky if for that £10 flight you see any change out of £1,000

How come my country who should've been cheaper than Europe at almost anything ask us to pay up to $90-$100 per flight (lets say same kind of plane as Ryan Air, worse quality, 1 star rating) well its a 1 hour flight, less than an hour flight which is 30 minute use propeler plane and the price is still like $20 at least I wonder if airport etc is the initial problem

Great video - I’d add that to take extra baggage (even a travel bag/small suitcase that goes in the overhead locker in the cabin) they charge for, and the prices can be extortionate especially if not bought in advance

Great if you're bringing 1 strictly limited item of hand luggage but, once you start adding on more luggage, particularly oversized luggage such as sports equipment, their prices are no longer competitive with the likes of BA Generally people don't appreciate this as the initial low price attracts them to the flight but, by the time additional luggage is added, they generally become a similar price, if not more expensive Personally, I'd rather spend £10 more to fly with a proper airline and take advantage of the customer loyalty schemes that effectively balance out that money

Having just returned from a trip ion Ryanair, I can categorically say that I will never use them again Seats double booked on the outward journey and 3+hour delay on the return not to mention the most uncomfortable seats ever A park bench would have offered more comfortbrbrI would happily pay 10x the fare to travel in comfort

One thing not mentioned here is hedging, Ryanair hedges a lot of operating cash on oil at good prices vs other companies think O'Leary said sometimes Ryanair can be 90 hedged, but always 80 iirc

I flew from Tenerife to London on Ryanair to catch my international business flight from London to USA It was cheap, efficient and on time But I assumed London - Stanstead, where it flew, was within "London" or vicinity and getting to Heathrow after wasn't huge deal Turns out it was a nearly 2 hr cab ride which completely negates all the cost savings of Ryanair They should NOT be allowed to advertise their airports they land as if part of the big city they are advertising they fly to Its deceptive, and that cost is passed to the consumer but it's not apparent to the consumer when all they see is the web advertised flight price

I recently flew with flair air in Canada from Winnipeg to Edmonton and was supposed to take off at 11:30pm and only ended up leaving an hour later cause the plane had some frozen lines it was a 2 hour flight and the first time I ever flew Not a great first experience as I hadn’t eaten anything that whole day and was nauseous before hand in the airport

People always complain that Ryanair has bad food, service and landing quality Yet they forget that they paid under £20 (Or euro equivalent) for a flight from one country to another which probably was cheaper than the taxi ride from their home to the airportbrbrYou're paying for what you get so that £20 funds the food, the service quality including the equipment they have and the pilots Bare in mind, one of the reasons why Ryanair has poor landing performance is due to most commercial pilots starting their career in airline companies just like Ryanair because it is easy to get a job so most pilots are unexperienced and new so their landings are not always very good As they progress they might move onto other airline companies which are better in overall satisfaction brbrAdditionally, I would rather pay for a budget flight from A to B because there is no point for paying for a £1,000 flight when my ears still pop when taking off! You get what I mean? Might aswell save that £980 on a nice meal or for whatever when I am at my destination People nowadays spend fortunes on a flight when you still get the same experience, other than maybe more comfortable seats or landings when at most it is only an 8 hour experience
