Gold is solid If it drops, long term stackers are just going to but Oz batches Who knows, there could be a trend and the price goes nuts If bitcoin can do it, why not physical gold Comment from : Change Change |
Britannia are smaller Comment from : Shaf Serious |
I think any size gold coin is good to have👍 Comment from : Mike Sorensen |
I wish you would've compared it to a penny or dime, something easily recognizable People looking into 1/10oz of gold probably don't have a 1oz gold coin so comparing it to that doesn't really help visualize how big/small the coin actually is Though I am glad you put it next to an ASE, but that still doesn't really do it justice Comment from : Crimin4L |
Comment 2 years late - but it still holds true I also bought some 1/10oz capsules thinking that I was going to buy some US or Canadian 1/10oz coins - but I am still stuck on the 1/4oz size as the smallest I'm willing to buy With the 1/4oz coins, I like the size and I like the lower premium better than the 1/10oz coins I still haven't purchased a 1/10oz coin! Thank you for showing how small they really are! Comment from : The Silver State |
Do you have and 1/4 Britannias? I want them so bad lol Comment from : Thomas Haynes |
I think about selling in the future Hopefully the price goes way up, if so, it might be hard to unload full ounces Comment from : mason appalachiantrail |

Bitcoin would be a great thing to buy now that you mention it in your video lol Comment from : Samuel Coronado |
If you had say for example, 10 or maybe 20 1/10th oz gold maple leafs ( I don't know in this instance it would be leaveslol), in original factory plastic sheets, would you leave them be or cut them all out and put them in capsules? Only curious All opinions welcome! Thanks in advance Comment from : silversurfer49 |

Funny to listen to you from a year ago Content is, of course, top notch Comment from : Brian Buchanan |

👍 Nice You bare/b the sparkly metals demo king! We live close to the Canadian border and just got a few 1/10th oz and grams (they're so cute!) Maplesjust in case needing to 'tip' border guards for expedited service ever becomes a real thing😉 Comment from : Robnord1 |
I just checked SD bullion for a quarter ounce gold eagle (May '22) and if I did the math right, they are charging 31 over spot!? A quarter ounce Britannia on the other hand was 85 What's the freaky dealy yo? Comment from : Jeremiah |
I don't actively invest in gold; I just buy it as a hobby, so the higher premium on the 1/10 oz doesn't matter much to me Comment from : Chris Hill |
Do you have sliver rounds you should have 3 kilo just saying Comment from : MoneyBags_B |
Would you recommend buying a half ounce gold eagle coin or two quarter ounce gold coins? The two quarter ounces are random, but the cost of two of them is less than a half ounce eagle Comment from : Adam Byers |
The 1/10 fractional size makes the most sense when you’re able to dollar cost average and consistently make purchases regardless of the market direction There’s nothing wrong with expanding the mint choices Some vendors will offer random coin types and years at a discount That adds up over time Another factor to consider is whether shipping is free or if you have a long distance to travel to make purchases of the coins Great topic I’m just getting started watching some of your previous videos and appreciate the time and effort taken to produce videos on the topic -DM Comment from : D M |
I’ve initiated a personal race between filling a 1/10 oz Canadian Maple tube and a 1/10 oz American Eagle tube—premiums be damned! brbrDo you see yourself ever returning to securing more 10 oz silver bars?brbrCheers, mate! 🎩🥂 Comment from : the Gentleman Stacker |

Nice CRK!!!brwhat other stabbies you have?brjust got in a ADV Butcher and Medford Praetorian Comment from : SlainByBlind |

Fracs are the easiest resale; because the most people can afford them Fracs are the ONLY option for low income stackers Fracs recover their premiums and hold value even if it takes a little longer Zoom out, no regrets Comment from : blacklungsjoe |
I have 1 Oz gold coins, but I got drawn to the 10th Oz coins and I love them They are like gold dimes, trying to fill a tube of eagles Comment from : coleroyce |

I switched my order from 1/10 oz Gold eagle to 1/4 maple Comment from : Benny Duran |
Alot of people seem to be size queens, if you ever need to transport or god forbid stash your currency, and let's keep in mind this is currency, not jewelry, or a show piece It's for exchanging for goods and services and storing accumulated funds Comment from : john smith |
I like 1/10th oz coins for real world money only The denomination is small enough that I can buy and sell goods using them Comment from : john smith |
I was a bit disappointed spending 525 on a 1/4 gold maple, it's so small Selling it for the 1 oz Comment from : Hugo Stiglitz |
I just picked up on of those 1/10 s for $28000 Canadian The cost is not lost at liquidation So all is fair in the end I just wanted some that day and consider it as getting rid of some fiat currency that seems comparable to the unlucky guy at a knife fight , laying there ,bleeding out and in a pool of its own dirty blood brPease Comment from : lincoln weller |
Yes, the premium are step on 1/10th oz coins However there is guy name Fernando Aguire who survive the argentine collapse, and the 1/10th oz coins were good when you need to cash them in to go buy groceries You didn't want to cash in too big of gold coin as the money devalue/depreciated so fast that it would worth less by the next day So there is a place for the 1/10th oz coins I probably wouldn't invest a large amount in them, but I would have save Comment from : Leo M |
What would you say is a good premium to buy random date maples that are 1/10th oz? 12 and under? Comment from : Anthony Overfield |
1/10 oz coins look good you when many of them! Comment from : spArks |
A 25 premium on gold is nothing, when in the UK you have to pay 20VAT on top of any final price just for the pleasure of owning silver legally🤣 Comment from : Brad |
Premiums on the 1/10 is imho way too high to make it a regular buy - at least in Europe Like I always say I like to diversify a little and there's nothing wrong with buying smaller denominations once in a while and sure for gifts too if people wants cash and you don't want to give them cash But it comes at a large premium A quick price check locally I can buy 1/10 ounce new bullion and a vintage Danish 10 kroner in the same price range Doing the number crunch I'll get ½ gram for free in the vintage coin compared to modern bullion and if selling to a dealer there's no way you get the premium back - it's a nobrainerbrFor the 1/4 oz size range the picture is a little better A vintage Danish 20 kroner vs 1/4 oz are pretty much the same price - here you'll only get 0,2 gram "for free"brFor pure bullion I normally don't go lower than 1/4 oz For vintage coins I normally don't go lower than the French 20 franc (5,8 gram) Of course there's always a few exceptions and a great deal might turn up unexpected New Sovereigns aren't quite a 1/4 oz on the other hand premiums are none the less very low on those from trusted online dealers Gold in Europe is more equal no matter origin Pretty much regardless size and origin you'll always get spot when selling to a dealer - so what count the most is the premium Sure selling privately or special items with numismatical value you might get a little more - especially if in good condition Comment from : HifiCentret |
It's so much smaller than the one ounce, it looks like about a tenth of a ounce to me Comment from : Alan Zimmerman |
im thinking going into 1/10 oz gold coins because the 1 ounce is so expensive for my economy And IF just if gold every is to be a real currency, a 1500$ to 2000$ unit is quite large A 200$ unit 1/10 is a much better trading unit, 31g AU And its a wider variety of faces, like the Somalia Republic shilling African Wildlife There is nothing like the colour of gold For 1 oz of gold you can buy 2 kilo of silver It depend on how much space you got around If a real currency of gold was to take place, it must be 1 gram and 1/2 gram units Comment from : Kenneth Henrik Olsen |
I've thought about purchasing some 1/4 ounce coins but there is quite a range in prices among the different coins; maple leafs, eagles, kugarands, philharmonics, etc Since I'm more interested in financial insurance rather than pretty collectibles, I don't need to spend more for anything in particular I just want to buy a 1/4 ounce gold coin What is the best option out there? Comment from : Marcus Howard |
Got 4 1/10oz coins coming brBought 25g bars (10)brTalk about smallgood fractional value at 150 dollars if you need to sell in an emergency Comment from : Richard Anon Patriot |

What’s your Opinion on 1 and 2 1/2 gram gold bars Comment from : NAVY Vet |
I like the 1/4 gold coins as there cheaper i know its not cheaper in long run than an 1oz but at least it doesn't take as long to be able to buy 1 Comment from : lee mont |
I live in California so any purchases above 1,500oo on precious metals is tax free I bought a quarter oz gold coin lunar year of the rabbit 🐇 I paid another 150 extra on premium Not mention sales tax 😭 Comment from : Leon Starrk Santiago |
I'm finding 1/10oz are now carrying about a 30+ premium 1/4oz are maybe 10 Its insane Comment from : Michael T |
I went for an international 1/10 ounce gold stack 10 different countries in 1/10 size Resale isn't my goal The variety is But due to premiums it will be the only one I have Quarter ounce is my preferred size Comment from : Lon |
I bought a bunch of gold backs which are a fun, less expensive micro fractional variety alternative that are very cool looking A nice holiday gift for your stacker buddies Utah GB and Nevada GB’s are the most recent pick ups Very novel, but still real money Comment from : Jason Bourne |
It would have been nice if you had a US Penny, Nickel, and Dime to compare it to for size Comment from : J D |
I just won on auction a old 1877 Belgium 90 Gold - 20 Francs - and it was a steal 5,8g of gold My second gold piece to collection first was a 1/4 oz maple leaf :) Comment from : CoinArcher |
Fractional gold enables one to sell according to $ needsbrEspecially in a volatile market when the price couldbrMove up inleaps and bounds, any premium paid will be quickly surpassed Comment from : Richard Peychers |
So I have a bunch of little gold coins and I got most of them before I knew any better but I did watch this one video where the guy was talking about how much gold would be in the future and that maybe the smaller amounts of gold would be more liquid because most people wouldn’t have enough money to buy the bigger ones So yea the premiums are terrible but maybe it will be good for future liquidation because more people could purchase smaller amounts when you go to sell Comment from : Lucy Stacks |
I’ve been a silver stacker sense 16 years old My collection ranges from 1 ounce to 1 kg Unfortunately 1 oz of gold out of my price rangebrI have been looking at fractional gold 10th or 1/4 oz 1/2 gold and 1kg Silver are normally around the same Price rangebrEvery month I buy about 15 ounces of silver every three months I buy a kilo of silver With my budget in mind what would be your suggestions on fractional gold purchases Comment from : Ernest Giboo |
HI 2 I HAVE 50 OF THE 1/10 OZ MLS I ALSO HAVE 39 MAPLEGRAMS I ALSO HAVE 12 DOS PESOS GOLD COINS I LOVE TINY FRACS bTYU/b Comment from : Donald in New Mexico |
Where's the 20th? Comment from : Goldcic Vibefel |
Stack what you can, when you can As long as you are adding to the stack Sometimes it's a tenth this month, maybe next month is a half ounce, the following month a handful of ASE It all adds up in the end Comment from : D B |
Does anyone consider exit strategy for their stack? brbrFor anything to be of value there needs to be someone on the other end willing and able to buy/trade Comment from : Nightscape Photographer |
I love tenth ounce gold I should add a calc to my spreadsheet, but I at a glance I’m easily averaged in at less than 5 premium on them Most I’ve paid for 1/10 eagles is 7 I won’t buy them at 25 premium Heck, I won’t buy a gram at 25 premium Lol Comment from : SilverChickadee |
I just picked up a 1/4 oz maple, had a 1/10th and a a few gram bars already, the 1/4 oz seems like the perfect buying point for me at the moment great video Comment from : rAgtAg Stacking |
Silver unless u got a crap load it's basically just stupid I held silver for years never made not 1 dollar Gold is where it's at Comment from : BC |
Great channel brother 🤗 Comment from : THE HUNGER GAMES 8 |
I can’t really afford gold starting out But I will say sdbullion, and jmbullion seem to offer at least one sale on smaller amounts at a time and that may be a solution Comment from : heidigib01 |
For fractional gold I like the old European coins 10-20 francs, whole and half sovereigns, ducats, and pesos If you shop around they can still be had at lower premium and have more collectable value if you get a good deal on something from the 18th or 19th century Coins that weigh from 11-13 oz can be had for the same price or less than 10 oz American and Canadian modern junk gold Comment from : Steven D |
I love maple leaf's there so simply but so beautiful Comment from : Silverman Family Values |
I agree My sweet spot is the 1/4 oz Gold American Eagles and also modern American $5 commemoratives Comment from : Coin Hound |
I must add: for me, the size of coin I purchase depends on the available cash on hand Usually 1/4oz but I have some of the 1/10oz variety Comment from : SoCalSilver |
New sub Yup, high premium but sometimes it’s the only gold people can afford Gold is savings for me Silver & platinum are my speculative bets (along with mining stock) 👌🏼 Comment from : SoCalSilver |
So my fractional approach is $5, $10, $20 liberty pre-33 I balance that with Mexican gold pesos 5, 10, 20I also just bought my first Rooster -1867 I am still adding silver but focused on 10 oz bars - government issue plus sunshine mint I can get these at $2 over spot with my LCS Good looking coins keep on stacking Comment from : Silver Banky |
Interestingly though not sure about the rest of the world but in the UK fractional coins hold there premium when you sell them Not everyone can afford £1500 on one ounce of gold but can afford £100 or £150 so they do tend to keep that premium Comment from : The HRS Channel |
Mine came with queen Elizabeth with $5 marked on it Help me know difference from maple leaf and the queen Please Comment from : Kathleen M Higgins |
A new-to-collecting buddy of mine and I have recently come to the conclusion that trying to stack fractional gold is a fool's game After "investing" over $330 on a 1/10 toz Aussie WWII commemorative gold coin - literally the size of your thumbnail - and 1 Gram of gold (worst decision ever), he calls me up and we go to 3 different local places AFTER gold spot price was up $23 over the time they were purchased Lo and behold, nobody is offering anywhere NEAR what was paid for two pieces of gold (out the door, plus shipping) and he would have taken a pretty stout loss We've decided it's better to concentrate on more affordable silver 1 toz rounds and coins, and play the silver-to-gold ratio over the long term You get way more metal in your hands with silver and it's more likely you'll be able to use it to barter if SHTF Comment from : kingneutron1 |
I think I said this before when you made your 1/4 oz video, but 1/10th oz is the Number One Selling fractional out of the AGE Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge Comment from : Cash and Coins |
