vaios frangoulis
BMW Audi's are shit most unreliable and expensive to keep up with all the trouble, the Boxter at least has the X factor, I'd go 350Z or 370Z the Honda s2000, Vauxhall GT

Totally agree on the Abarth124 spider, having bought one 18 months ago It is rare, special and so much fun for the money, with cheap running costs as well, plus a great owners community

Comment from : Mickael Ian

Chris Grundy
I'd love a Saab 9-3 convertible, still one of the best looking cars 👍
Comment from : Chris Grundy

James Roadnight
I had a brand new S4 convertible back in 2007, fabulous car and at 6-8k, they are amazing value One thing to note if you are looking to buy one, the timing chains need replacing around 100k miles and it is not a cheap job as the whole engine needs to be taken out to do it looking at least 2k so factor that in if the chains haven’t been done Either way, they are great cars!
Comment from : James Roadnight

Blake
Boxster over a 911 haha! Cayman yes, Boxster never!
Comment from : Blake

Jim Hartshorne
Wheres the SL Matt?
Comment from : Jim Hartshorne

GP
No Mercedes ??
Comment from : GP

Alexandre Couture
This is completely nuts to not include the good and reliable Miata and to ''replace'' it in the list with something with a garbage Fiat/Chrysler engine
Comment from : Alexandre Couture

jake gavan
I chuckled shen he mentioned indicators on a bmw
Comment from : jake gavan

San Diego cruiser

Comment from : San Diego cruiser

Amjad Ali
308cc is great budget convertible
Comment from : Amjad Ali

Darran J Samuel
After seeing how much princess Diana’s RS escort sold for I think an old escort convertible will be a good investment, especially as Prince Andrew paid 12million for his escort
Comment from : Darran J Samuel

The Mancunian Candidate
A Saab 9-3 Aero would be a decent bet too The facelifted 2008-2011 V6 Turbo is an understated torque monster, especially with a remap
Comment from : The Mancunian Candidate

Shane Threlfall
We need a decent 5 seater convertible brWe’ve put people on the moon yet we can’t build a 5 seater Audi Convertible brIt just doesn’t make sense why not
Comment from : Shane Threlfall

Comment from : Paul Watt

AjWest!
My type of listing ! Been looking at 370Zs for a while - though as they stopped selling them here, only seems to be 2-3 manuals on a Ito trader at any one time Got me thinking about buying a 330i BM for fun and investment purposes though…
Comment from : AjWest!

Captain Hindsight
E46 330ci is king Can't believe they've stayed so cheap for so long, but it won't be for long Look at the E39, even the 530i is pushing past 5k now
Comment from : Captain Hindsight

EASY 4X4
more convertibles are sold in the UK than Spain because it's often TOO hot to comfortably keep the roof down I've had the Golf Cabrio 1995 and a (BMW) Mini S 2007 I like the idea in theory, but in practise unless you have a hardtop they're a bugger to keep clean and the rear windows are often crap!!
Comment from : EASY 4X4

Christopher Riley
Thanks that was alright Oh & please forgive my saying but the mpg on e46 BMW’s is pants I have a 323ci & a 330ci & they both do 20mpg if I’m lucky Oh & never use e10 because the mpg plummets 👍
Comment from : Christopher Riley

DoubleDeckerAnton
E46 330i is a great modern classic Good at everything
Comment from : DoubleDeckerAnton

Efisio Piantacarote
A word of advice: avoid Smart Roadster, they may be quite cheap to buy but are very poorly built, electronics is a b***h and spare parts are expensive and difficult to find I had one for several months and I’m happy I got rid of it…
Comment from : Efisio Piantacarote

Antonio Palmero
I’m sure if the L322 was convertible is would be on your list I saw a soft top evoque the other day 🤮
Comment from : Antonio Palmero

Antonio Palmero
It’s gotta be Bavarian
Comment from : Antonio Palmero

rivolistreet
What’s so bad about a Peugeot or Picasso? I enjoy your wit, but though a VW owner myself, several friends, including a Berliner, swear by their French cars, he has clocked up well into the 200km I wonder if we’re missing something A video on your top 5 French cars (or bottom 5) would be fun Keep up the good work
Comment from : rivolistreet

Comment from : Jeff Allinson

Dale Steel
If your gonna get a boxster you want the 986 Boxster S These are collectible and are going up in value whereas 987 will devalue Although I do agree the 987 is nicer

Comment from : Richard Mason

Steven Newman
Mate, 15 MPG at nearly 2 quid a litre really does matter, I love your channel but you are so wrong there The average person that watches your chanel can't afford to run this car at those prices
Comment from : Steven Newman

Josh Shepherd
BMW 630i the best around in my opinion Pick up one with 70k miles for about 8k & ones with 100k miles for about 5k
Comment from : Josh Shepherd

Barrie Moorcroft
No 1 has to be e43 convertible, but I'd go 318 for everyday driving Powerful enough and lighter than 30brToyota MR2 circa 2002 I owned and was a boxer clone, engine weak but was an awesome mid mounted engine behind the seats rear drive low down convertible
Comment from : Barrie Moorcroft

Oscar Olim
BMW with indicators? That must be quite a high spec one!
Comment from : Oscar Olim

Pritesh Bhatt
Nice video as always If possible can you make a video for the best cars for new drivers that have recently passed their test Taking in consideration the cost of insurance, reliability etc
Comment from : Pritesh Bhatt

Richard Mason
No Mx5 Mattbut a 124 ArbarthCome on PalDrive a sorted 20 sport NC and you will see why it's the best selling convertable
Comment from : Richard Mason

Terry Delahunt
Had never even heard of that Abarth, it looks class I think I want one!
Comment from : Terry Delahunt

C Huzz
Do we really think that old 30l beemers are going to go up in value? If you can pick one up cheap and it doesn’t break down on you (it will) it’s a reasonable option for running into the ground but I wouldn’t expect its value to rise! brbrAlso, the V8 in the Audi is notoriously fragile and expensive to repair Engine out timing chains if I remember
Comment from : C Huzz

Aero250
Hey mate My mum is needing a cheap run around for her work in care If you have anything under 500 in the pipeline I'd be willing to travel I live in Scotland Great videos as always

Comment from : Simon Hammond

Nymphalis Antiopa
What is the obsession with German cars, in the main they are overpriced turds
Comment from : Nymphalis Antiopa

Meni Fo
Audi S4? Seriously? That was one of the worst convertibles ever built! Your criteria is questionable
Comment from : Meni Fo

Ian Ashton
No, no, no to the Fiat The MX5 (especially gen 2) would be a much more worthy inclusion The Fiat looks like a dog’s dinner
Comment from : Ian Ashton

Apsco Radiales
If I was in UK, I would look at TVR'sbrThere are a number of them that pop up in the market, and may be affordable At least, the chances are there are enough local mechanics who could fix them when they start limpingbrI think TVR's are classic British cars, and worth of having
Comment from : Apsco Radiales

Apsco Radiales
"If you're in the States", (haha) you may want to consider a convertible second-hand MustangbrRental companies have them down south, so it's probably possible to pick one up for cheap moneybrEven a V6 would be pretty good, and parts you can get practically everywhere, and would cost you cents to fix compared to an Audi or a Bimmer
Comment from : Apsco Radiales

Apsco Radiales
Boxster?brYummy, but $$$$!!!
Comment from : Apsco Radiales

Apsco Radiales
Agree about the Bimmers of that age and type, but you should find an independent shop to take care of maintenance and repairsbrAs we all know, dealers, particulalrly BMW dealers are not from this Universe when it comes to costsbrAll wheel drive Bimmers are to be stayed away from - a simple leaky oil pan gasket on mine cost me close to CDN$5,000brto replace, because the whole front end has to come downbrNow, the AudibrYou must be joking!brThe Audi, any Audi is a bloody disaster when it comes to reliability or maintenance specially the quattrosbrTo replace the leaky gasket anywhere on the engine, they'll have to, again, drop the whole front end which will cost you thousandsbrUnlike the Bimmers of that age, Audi electrics/electronics are hundred-fold worsebrOh yeah, carbon deposits in the Audi engines often times requires the whole engine to be taken apart to be cleaned and fixedbrCan you imagine the cost for that?brMy own personal suggestion is to stay the bloody hell away from them, any Audi A Trabant would be a far better buy than any AudibrAll this said, I'm talking from the North American perspective, not UKbrAs they say, "your mileage may vary"
Comment from : Apsco Radiales

Phillip Nicholls
Can’t see how you think 20k is on a budget! Unless of course you can afford to buy one new
Comment from : Phillip Nicholls

Basingstoke Dave
no one merc mention
Comment from : Basingstoke Dave

Rémi Baptiste
I would also recommend the Volvo C70 🏎️ not the best handling but still a great car
Comment from : Rémi Baptiste
