Slow learning isn't always an age thing My teenage son and I got our guitars around the same time 13 months later I am learning and playing songs I like I'm 53 but I just love my guitar and love 80's music My 15 yr old son is still one string playing He bought himself a bass over the summer and seems to like it better than a regular guitar I pick his bass up once in a while, I might mess with a bass line I know but I quickly set it down and grab my guitar In my second year of learning I like reading and watching videos about music and guitar theory I like and follow advice for new guitar players There are tons of ideas on YouTube channels I don't have money or time to schedule classes with an in person guitar teacher I watch channels like this Comment from : Brian Partlow |
|
I am in late 30's but i am stuck at pick makes too much sound when playing Any solution please Comment from : Marketing and Promotions |

Good tips, also (covered a bit in tip 4), buy a guitar that is easy to play, nothing worse than a guitar that fights u They don't have to be expensive at all nowadays Find somebody who plays guitar well and go buy the guitar together if possiblebrBuy a classical guitar, u don't have to press that hard on the strings, it helps with finger stretching exercise ( it will fight u but in a good way) and when u switch back to the acoustic guitar, it will feel more easy to play it Also classical guitar sound is heaven for the ears (imo) Comment from : JustOneSecond |

I'm 39 and I've got a bit of arthritis thing is I feel it started with guitar I've been playing for a year and a half and I am obsessed I probably practice like 2 hrs a day I had to stop playing today because my wrist and fingers (joints) were too sore These are good tips, but there is a sense of regret not learning when I was younger, and I feel like I need to catch up so I have time to get good I want to get really good so I can play any song if I put the time in So, it's been frustrating not being there yet, but I am indeed loving the journey I just hope my fingers can hold up I like the way you make things simple, so you've got a subscriber in me Comment from : Mark Baker |
