Honestly the majority of those pennys after grading fees and auction fees the sellers lost money brIts worth noting that i stopped collecting coins when i tried to sell a rare penny and the buyer tried to rip me off by saying well i can get the same penny a year later for 5 cent that was the exact moment i decided to sell my entire collection and just put my money in the bank been putting my money in the bank most every paycheck since 1999 and am proud to say that the interest collected is worth far more than the resell value of most coin collections not trying to say collecting coins cant be profitable way to add a little extra income to your retirement but i will say collecting common coins is not the way
