Very cool! I recently did something similar here in Germany for the first time I got some €5 and €25 non-circulating coins for face value, of which the former was also colourized brWith the circulating Euro coins there are pretty strict rules about the designs, they all have the same reverses and each country has the different national obverses Generally those national sides are only allowed to be changed every 10 years, with some exceptions: previously to comply with new rules and there's a general exception to change the portrait to a new monarch The only denomination with circulation commemoratives is the €2 (obverse only) and countries are allowed to make two or three different ones per year (I'm sure there's rules for those designs too) brThe circulation coins are also the only ones allowed with their denomination (1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, €1 & €2) so that's why non-circulation commemoratives are always other denominations Often €5 or larger but Portugal eg makes many €250 coins and the Austrian Vienna Philharmonic silver bullion coins are €150 Comment from : Alrik |

I volunteered to help with crowd control/security as I had such a great time at the last exchange that took place here in 2018 Some people arrived as early as 8am and the line was all the way around the building and along the side the street A very long and exhausting day, but well worth the effort and glad to have been able to able to give something back to the collecting community brbrMany people I spoke to were from the GTA and as far as London and places in between Very appreciative of CAC for opening their store for this event and hoping they will do so again in the future Unfortunately for those who travelled long distances and arrived midafternoon some were turned away after 2pm due to the length of time it took for people to cycle through The great weather likely had an impact on the number of those showing up and as noted parking was scarce brbrPlain versions (scarcer variety) and commemorative sets were available for purchase Comment from : Peter Becker |
