Hello, thanks for this helpful video If the money is borrowed from line of credit and put in TFSA or RRSP, can the debt interest be still be put as an expense even if that money was invested in TFSA and RRSP? Comment from : Junior Trader |

It’s a good strategy but many HELOC providers do not want you using the money in this manner They would rather you buy a boat! If they find out, they can call the loan Comment from : philistineau |

This is what I did! Back in March of 2020 when the markets started crashing I went to the bank borrowed a very large amount off my home equity line of credit and invested in Canadian blue chip stocks Today those investments are up about 40 (this wouldn’t happen unless there is a large correction or crash) I feel like I’ve caught up on my retirement investments by using this strategy Comment from : J D |
