I think part of the reason why hardware engineering still requires degrees is that there is almost no freely available education On top of that often times you need to buy actual hardwarebrHopefully these things will change in the future Open source is slowly catching on in hardware too Maybe in a few years from now you can actually become a self taught hardware engineer

Hi Anastasia, so I understood a bit of this video thanks again for recommending I now understand that when I finish highschool, I'll go for a BS degree in computer engineering, and I'll take the additional 2 years and go for a masters degree in electrical engineering, but my new questions are how do I figure out what to specialize in HW engineering? Whats the difference between processor design analog design and all of that stuff? Or should I not worry about that stuff right now because I havent entered university yet? Personally, I only have a BSEE and work in hardware engineering but there's definitely a lot of value in a master's and is required or highly encouraged for IC Design(Digital/Analog) I feel like AI/ML is valuable but I would note coursework in FPGAs as another area of growing demand in the HW space that is especially relevant in AI/ML applications
