Can you talk about setting boundaries? I do everything mentioned here (work, classes, hobbies, etc), but I think the best thing I've done is set boundaries when gaslighting or other toxic tactics start, but I could use more help brSome background:brMarried 30 years in March 2022 My husband completely changed when the celebrity person won the presidency in 2016; my spouse became rude, angry, sullen, and started drinking a lot He's a verbally abusive person when he drinks; I have recorded videos to use in court if I am forced to leave now, to get full custody He basically fell in love with that former guy and seemed to emulate him I've been staying for the kids (youngest graduates in 2024) Comment from : KD M |

Good video, but as a man, I found the discussion actually funny at times and a case of men are from Mars and women from Venus moment Your discussion about a relationship not allowing you to explore new friendships, grow spiritually, mentally etc are important, but men, or at least I am, are more practical Either you are a team or you are not brbrAfter almost 25 years of marriage, my needs are MUCH more basic We have not slept in the same bed for a decade and rarely have time together because there are other priorities It used to be the kids, but now its her new woke COVID-Deep State friends I work two jobs, 6 days a week to provide for the family She has not worked in 20 years even though she has two degrees, of which the second one cost $35K a few years back, and she has no interest in working It would cut into the 5-6 hours a day she spends on her phone, eating or dreaming about COVID restrictions brbrWhen I am not working, I am looking after the kids, helping them with their homework, cooking dinner, looking after the yard, cleaning the house, going shopping because she refuses to wear a mask, saving and planning for retirement, etc Her entire day's activities consist of loading and unloading the dishwasher, putting on a load of laundry or shopping on-line No job, no plan, no problem If there is a way to do less, she will find it If I say anything, I'm the a$$hole that does not respect her We can barely have a conversation because it immediately turns into a COVID and Deep state rantbrbrSo, this pack-mule roommate is getting tired, but I don't feel like tearing the family apart My oldest son recently asked me how I can stand it brbrDo I still lover heryes, unconditionally, but I am not made of stone and things need to change Comment from : mark g |

Been married for 19 years 9 years ago she went peri-menopause To this day she still refuses to accept menopause, let alone do anything about it For the last 5 years there has been zero intimacy Yes, I said “zero”! I haven’t left because we still have 3 teenagers at home, the youngest being 13 I will not break my kids hearts by leaving The only good thing about it is, we do no fighting We got that out of our systems the first 4 years of menopause We only talk about the kids and family stuff now, nothing about our personal relationship If I even bring up anything about intimacy, she gets pissed However, we back each other up 100 with decisions about the kids We don’t ever let the kids try to play us against each other So the kids don’t see anything negative between their mother and I But we do just live as roommates now I hate it! She is now 60, and I turn 58 this year I couldn't decide if I should put this comment under this video, or if I should have put it under the "Infidelity After 50" video Maybe I should put it under both Pretty sad, huh? Great segment today I know a lot of women in their mid-to-late 40s go through this Sometimes there is still a lot of love in the marriage but also stagnation and imbalance It’s easy to feel ashamed for staying in an unfulfilling relationship the same way one can feel ashamed for leaving a kind and loving partner who is not growing and does not want the same things out of life Some of us made compromises (sacrifices) earlier in life for the sake of love or family that are just not sustainable This message tells me there is some breathing room, and things you can do while you figure things out Comment from : LC Kendel |
