I giggle at the fact that they apologize for using a 50 We use $100 notes to go places just to get change We also have the $1 in a note, and to be honest, we still mint the $500 and $1000 notes At least they are out there if we don't mint them anymore I've only seen them at the bank when I asked to see them Our Quarters are absolutely ridiculous with the 50 states and now other things on them Geez! As a teenager, I visited Britain in 1970, which was before the conversion to the decimal pound In those days, there were 240 (old) pence to a pound, which became 100 new pence in the new decimal pound Thus, a shilling was 12 old pence or 5 new pence A "bob" was half a shilling, (or six old pence), and there is no modern British coin in this denomination (In the movie, "The King's Speech", the term "one bob" is mentioned more than once) Also, sadly, (in my opinion), a "crown" was 60 old pence or 1/4th of a pound, which would be 25 new pence, but there is no modern British coin that is equivalent to a crown Oh well Comment from : T Fleischhauer |

We don't believe in cashless in amerikabrHaha I feel British is more elaborate In America we do not have all these coins lmfao!!! Specially not sterling and we have one wordbrpenny, dime, nickle, quarter, half dollar, silver dollar and that's it It's simple and it's all about the Benjamin's baby 🤣brI also can't believe you can't use old money!!!!! I can't believe that at all! So do you turn it in with the bank?! In America it's more preferred and it's still accepted You can use old bills here So if I had a old note there I probably curse them out when they reject me like this is good money! Spent so much time joking that I really didn’t understand what you were talking about Some of the British accents and words a very different to American ears Also I’m a little confused about how the video was put together Why not start with the smallest going and work your way up ? A dollar in the US can also be called a "buck" (male deer) Other than that, seriously? Penny, nickle, dime, quarter, half-dollar is confusing?!? Your pences to shillings to pounds is ridiculous! 12 pences is a shilling and 20 shilling is a pound! And why the hell do you use pounds, when clearly they should be kilos because you use the metric system!!! :P Comment from : Corsuwey |

I believe a "bob" is a pound sterling, am I correct? I visited Britain as a teenager before the switch to the decimal currency There were 240 pennies to the pound, with shillings being 20 to the pound, so 12 pennies to a shilling (Nowadays, a shilling would be the modern 5 new pence) A 1/2 shilling was a six pence, a 1/4th shilling was a thropense (?) ie 3 pennies, with 1/6th shilling being tupence, ie 2 pennies There was also a "haypenny" which was 1/2 of a penny A Crown was 5 shillings or 1/4th of a pound (which we Americans might call a "quarter") Comment from : T Fleischauer |
