YES , I always had this terrible believe when I was younger, that people who study hard are not smart enough, but as I get older and school starts to get harder , it just feels so wrong to study so I always end up procrastinating , and now I get 80s instead of 90s and I feel so stupid, people always tell me I'm smart and I would be the first if study and I just feel worst and worst about myself, thank you for this video it really opened my eyes on what was the problem

This is so real I always was that kid who would get the highest scores in exams and assignments without studying much I even got the highest score in a state test of my entire school and one of the highest in the whole countrybrbrI could choose any career in any college I wanted and I would certainly get a scholarship if I askedbrbrSeeing how everything was pretty much handed to me in a silver plate, I just accepted the first college who called me and didn't even consider any other option Now that I'm in the 4th semester of my career, I absolutely regret joining the university I did, I feel frustrated and that I was played, but now I see that I played myselfbrbrAlways work as hard as you can even for the things that seem unimportant, for every single little thing will eventually have some point to it

This was really eye opening My dad use to tell me that he had to work twice as hard as his "gifted" classmates in order to keep up, that he really wish things came as easy to him as it did to his peers Fast forward, my dad built a very successful company, worked for himself, became a multimillionaire, and told me some of his "gifted" classmates didn't do much with their lives

I completely agree with the concept being talked about in this video But I noticed that the goal discussed herewas a direct goal or the situation here was direct: that is(in the first case) the kids did hardwork and achieved their goalhere hardwork was directly proportional to success But in real life what about working for those goals where hardwork is not directly proportional to success: It happens sometimes that you have put a lot of hardwork in something, put your 100 but still failed or there is only a long term Success and not a short term success: that is you are putting efforts but have no idea whether it is constructive and heading you towards your goal or you are just wasting time/efforts and are in the wrong pathwayyou doubt yourselfwhether your efforts are getting counted or not so in such a situation, how to tackle the feeling of getting overwhelmedand stay motivated?I hope I will get an answer because right now This is a thing that I can't tackle

I find the biggest motivator to be doing the dishes in the morning It's a low level physical activity that wakes you up You have something in the checked off column after only 15 minutes of being awake, and yes, it's your internal locus of something you can control

I was told that I'm a retard and look at how I turned out, working my hardest for the highest score and still only making through with the bare minimum grade to pass I know working hard is the key to control my life but it don't really make sense when it's in and out of control at the same time

Its called masking When you grow up as "the gifted kid" youre held to an unobtainable goal of success Always pushing yourself harder to meet this goal leaving you burnt out, and this can look like depression if you dont know what youre going through or if youre not diagnosed autistic I had several "professionals" say i had depression and anxiety but i was really just undiagnosed autistic going through a bad burnout that lasted for YEARS! brbrbrBe gentle, and take care of yourselfs out there If this resinates with you might wanna do some research (dont listen to autism speaks thats a whole new can of worms im not trying to get into)brI didnt get diagnosed until I was 19 years old

Thanks for this I totally have an outside locust view currently…I’m 39 and have always believed the system we all live by is just not for me…but I barely do anything anymore with reward for hard work I put in so today ima clean up our place and take my 4 year old son and do a hard skateboard trick that I’ve never done and hopefully this will start to put me on the right path to getting back to true happiness

My wife and I felt like we were always cleaning the house on the weekends and it was a real drag and hard to get motivated My friend gave me an idea and it's been really great for the past few weeks We wrote down all the areas of the house on a slip of paper and put them in a cup Every weekday after work we pull a piece of paper and spend 30 minutes cleaning that area together Just after two weeks we were both in better moods, enjoying the fruits of our labor, and enjoying spending Saturdays together (not cleaning lol)
