When I started learning python my now ex friend was telling me how incredible it was, how google used it, how microsoft used it how it was the most useful language yadda yadda yadda so I started learning, now imagine my surprise to discover that it is useless in most big companies and basically the only microcomputer/microprocessor that uses python is RaspberryPy wich I don't use, probably will never use and am not totally interested in using, while the arduino, one of the things I wanted to learn the most in eletronics did not run in python natively, but in C++, which I refused to learnbrWell I just noticed this became a rant pretty quickly so I ask the python lovers not to execute me, this is just my opinion (and objective truth because I said so)

What is your perspective on DDC and building automation? I’m a pipefitter and service technician There’s a huge market for building and plant automation but not many young people interested in the IT space seem to be familiar with it

Jean-Philippe Paradis (Hexstream)
1:10 I stopped watching at "C and C++ are by far the most useful languages to learn After I learned those, other programming languages are essentially just derivatives of those" because that is JUST TOO BLOODY LAUGH-OUT-LOUD IGNORANT Please learn Common Lisp, the best programming language in the world!
Comment from : Jean-Philippe Paradis (Hexstream)

Keikofilms

Filip Lindström
I studied computer science, so I had a running start But if I learned to code today, I would not just learn algorithms and data structures as everyone recommends as a starting point, but also try to build something from a larger code base or platform, as that is what confused me most as I started working As much as programming is a fairly generalized skill, understanding how to find the structure and logic in a bigger picture is what truly challenged me Especially when said structure or logic didn't come out of my head
Comment from : Filip Lindström

Tyler Davis
I just wanna say this is a great video and I’m glad I had basically the same ideas to get started as you suggest and I go further I can take from your advice But Jesus man the cutting from one camera to the next over and over again is extremely distracting, I would stop doing it if I were you It probably makes your editing process annoying and it’s just extremely distracting to viewers and completely unnecessary
Comment from : Tyler Davis

Margot
You are smart and fun to listen to, though it's way beyond my 69 years!! Keep it up
Comment from : Margot

 fun master
You could always learn unity or unreal and use c# or c++
Comment from : fun master

Stephen Beaty
Learning C++ right now, made a couple of small projects, and definitely getting that Dunning Kruger effect rn lol
Comment from : Stephen Beaty

my first language was scratch its really good if you want to learn very slowly and over time, and it helps you understand the concept of coding without having to learn much coding stuff while i do sometimes use python, i mostly use turbowarp (a scratch mod) which has so many features, including the option to package the project into html, and you can use the html code to turn it into a website or embed it into google sites!brbr"Even the worst of things can be made better by a contributing community" Me, August 2023

Forget C/C++, learn Simula or COBOL That is where the money is at JOKING, started learning C++ for learning Algorithms and data structures Did my first fizz-buzz with C++ but why is it harder to write fizz-buzz in C? Why does C have no strings? I just figured this out? How do you create elements in C if you have no strings? I will figure it out with Google
Comment from : William Castro

account dua
For me, I always recommend two things: br1 If you are the type who prefers to start with something easier, go with Python br2 If you are the type who enjoys a challenge, go with C++brbrBased on my experience, I started with C++ and found its learning curve to be quite steep; for a whole month, I slept, ate, coded, and repeated without touching the sun However, this enabled me to think more deeply about the structure of my code when translating to other languages like Java, C#, VB, or Python It also taught me how memory management works, which I consider to be one of the most important aspects of programmingbrbrStarting with C++ can be beneficial, but it should not be attempted by those who are not up for a challenge

When I vent to the university, I had already programmed a lot At the university they taught all families of programming languages (from imperative to meta, etc), but not C or C++ After university my first job was as a C programmer And later I was a teacher, and had to teach kid (bachelor degree level) C and C++ If you like to program, these are useful Just know that Python and Java are very popular as well
Comment from : Bent Mathiesen

Comment from : vic

Mykull
This is a good tutorial but one thing he didn't mention and I've come to learn which is it's not going to be instant There will be a learning curve, especially if you're a true beginner at programming But if you practice long and hard enough you'll eventually get to the point that you'll be good enough to hire
Comment from : Mykull

Actually it's very easy to make useful microcontroller programs in c/c++ especially with the Arduino Ide or cubeIde I would definitely recommend them as the first languages to learn
