I like how people from first world countries (USA, Canada,) think that they can define some rules to achieve success and overcome obstacles, while the reality is these rules can only be applied in a very specific environment where economical, social and political factors can help If we take someone from Burundi and someone from USA and they both set a goal to become millionaires and both of them are poor, who do you think would have a much higher probability of success regardless of how much self discipline and work they put? the reality is the most important factor is how lucky you are (where you are born, do you have physical or mental disabilities, how much money your parents have,)

This sounds great on Youtube (looks good on paper), but the author doesn't factor in other conditions like LUCK, heredity, etc You can grind all your life and have nothing to show for it There are many examples around you For those of you who say, "This book changed my life!" I'd like to ask how, other than to give you a dopamine hit from thinking about what you are going to do These "coaches" make a lot of money off of people who think they can do it, too Not everyone can be successful millionaires

This book started out great, the first half is really good, but the second half is infuriatingly heavy on its "grinding" mindset brThere are many things here that I agree with: self discipline, goal setting, investing on self improvement That was great, I loved it But he lost me on the latter chapters where is all about the grind, the hustle, everyone that's not competition is a customer, it was so distasteful to read Just to give an example, here's some of the advice on chapter 9:br1 Arrive to work 1 hr before your bossbr2 Work 1 hour later than your bossbr3 Work thru your lunch timebr4 DO NOT, under any circumstances, engage in conversation with your coworkers ( "time wasters" as he called them) , unless it is to get advice from them on how to get betterbrbrMaybe in the late 90's this kind of advice would have applied, especially for those who wanted to make it on corporate America, but now a days, especially post pandemic it just doesn't work anymore Books like this are the corner stone of toxic work culture, and most of us are not interested on "getting more responsability" or "work harder than the boss"br I'm actually quite glad that this video is missing the last 3 chapters because quite frankly I was done with it already No more Brian Tracy for me
