My journey was learning the WP first in a small agency html and css along with it, while learning the frontend development on the side Now I am in a huge corporation as a sr frontend dev doing what I do but WP allowed me to build listing, blogging, e-commerce, agency websites with multi-language for my other clients on the side Learning WP functions and being able to write or modify php snippets also helping me a lot these days too I think it's a great tool for developers and small to medium businesses There are some serious caching and preloading, deferring options that generates super fast sites I think it's a very important tool to know, but you have to overgrow it sometime in your professional journey to go deeper to be able to do more customized big budget projects
