this short video answered the main problem I have with other longer tutorials That is the built in dev server I have Apache installed on both Windows and Linux machines for development of my other projects Every tutorial starts with the built in dev server and spends 20-30 minutes just getting the environment set up I dislike having dev environments different than production, I don't want to spend a lot of time learning a new dev server The short length of the video allowed me to get to the "meat" of Laravel quickly Thank you! Comment from : Darren Eggleston |

Strongly disagree with your statement about best practices Of course you should teach those, of course they are important right away It's harder to improve later on something you're doing wrong, especially if you're not aware of it So not teaching best practices when you know them is quite odd Comment from : Psy |
Appreciated your effort Mate Very helpful to understand the basic concept Comment from : Ahmad ali |

As a person that uses PHP to make simple sites This tutorial skimmed aver a lot of info and with in the first 5 minutes I didn't want to use this framework as it looks too complicated! I'm just a simple TXT PHP coder that does not use frameworks for anything and this looks way too complicated Migrate this why? why do we have to migrate something, why do I have to run manual PHP commands on the shell? With something like WordPress everything uses the built in interface to do stuff! Comment from : Steve Main |
thanks for the tutorial Comment from : Samad vpd |

Just started using Laragon, and so far, MARVELOUS Have been doing webdev for 25+ yrs, WP/Elementor/localhosting on Windows (currently Win11 Pro) Due to ongoing issues with XAMPP, the switch to Laragon is a great improvement I am moving a couple of sites under development, using Duplicator WordPress plugin (Have used it before without issues) When I go to install a site under Laragon, the installerphp does not fire-up Instead it opens in my editor (Notepad++) with this at the top of the file:br"If you're seeing this text when browsing to the installer, it means your web server is not set up properly -- Please contact your host and ask them to enable "PHP" processing on your account"brbrSince Laragon doesn't have much support, I'm digging around to solve this issue (It appears you have some experience with it) I'm not finding where in Laragon to enable the php fn in the webserver (Laragon) Can you be of any assistance??? Thank you in advance Comment from : Richard C |
This is a good tutorial for someone that already knows programming and best practices in the industry, helped me figure out how laravel works really fast (Moving from Nodejs) But you could make it a lot better Since it is for beginners, they really need to know best practices, for example MVC It would be 1 or 2 minutes max to make a service class and explain what it is or maybe leave a link to an article about MVC What is the point of a tutorial if you are teaching bad habits to people eg writing logic in a controller method Instead you could put some validation in there, that would be great But thanks anyway!
