ErrrrMary, Queen of Scots never set foot in Seton Castle as it was built after 1789 and she lost her head in 1587 She did visit Seton Palace which had previously occupied the site, but after being burnt out during the Jacobite Rebellion of 1715 and declared a ruin in 1780 it was demolished to make room for the current castle
