It's really a testament to the NES that it was so much more successful than other 80s platforms that were technically superior The technical limitations of the 8-bit Nintendo console made it so sprites could only have 4 colors, which makes the NES TMNT much drabber and less colorful than this 16-bit Amiga version But where the NES killed it was the controls The controller with direction pad for left thumb, A and B buttons for right thumb, was so fast and responsive, there wasn't a barrier between player and game like there was on other systems The Amiga version looks significantly better graphics-wise, but you can tell just from watching someone play it that the controls suck

Wow this looks pretty good Design and soundtrack wise it looks better than the NES version If they could have fixed some of the portrait designs and had the screen scroll a little smoother it would probably be the best version

Honestly, the music is kind of better in this one SomehowbrBut gameplay- and graphics-wise NES is obviously superior I mean, literary EVERYTHING in the opening sequence looks like a 3-year old had drawn it And the rest of the game is no better

I had both an A500 and NES back in the day and, wow, I had no idea this port existed and it looks atrocious You say the controls are terrible and, watching the game in action, I believe it I like how they made a pretty fluid walk cycle for the turtles but they couldn't be arsed to animate the conveyor belts But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume a lack of necessary development time to tighten and polish things up is partly to blame here
