I'm an MA that was a CNA first and let me tell you, the payment is the same brIt's unbelievablebr I thought I'd make more being an MA I invested a lot of time and money going for MA I regret it, I should have just done LPNbrbr2 things that I'd like to highlight is: with CNA you can get hired part time, full time, weekends, PRN brWith MA it is office hours, it will be too hard to find a part time MA job If you're a mom it's gonna be hard to balance work with your personal life brI've been looking for part time MA job for about 6 months and I've found nothing I decided to rather take a CNA job that fits my schedule brOne advantage of MA job though is that it's not that tiring and it's a lot cleaner job, you don't do a lot of patient care, most of it is rooming the patient, and if you work in a family practice you do more, injections, draw blood, and some basic wound care But not much more than that

I do agree that it is a lot harder for MA’s to get jobs in the hospital, nursing homes, or home health facilities as most MA’s can find work in the hospital but will be known as a PCT I am from Texas and was told that most doctor offices will hire MA’s over nurses because they aren’t willing to pay nurses the amount they think they deserve as MA’s make less If a MA do want to work in the hospital, they’ll most likely work at the front desk doing administrative work
