I just started college again after already doing college for 2 years and having a gap year and I am struggling to get back into the groove But one thing that has really helped me is onenote on my ipad I love the way I can quickly go between notebooks and sections and pages to add information quickly without worrying about finding it again And also being able to organise everything into very specific sections has been helpful too Comment from : Mikomi! |

Mu novio ha aceptado hacer videollamada conmigo todos los días para que le explique lo que estudio Gracias por tan valiosos consejos! Comment from : Andreina Kuchiki |
For me it's usually looping whatever song is my current Hyperobssessive song while studying helps The added benefit is when I listen to it again it's as if it "unlocks" those memoriesbrbr20 years later "Mobscene" by Marilyn Manson makes all the info I studied for my amateur radio license flood back into my mind Comment from : TerribleGuitarist |
Lot of superfluous and unhelpful advice here Highlighting has been proven to be an inferior form of learning Videos are a bad way to learn simply because the device you're watching it on has a ton of distractions Scheduling simply doesn't work for a lot of adhd people Overall poor advice Comment from : Hari Krishnan |
"Don't do it alone, find a support group" brbrbLaughs in the social impairment that ADHD gives, leading being alone most of the time/b Comment from : Hermes |
People keep saying "get help" and get "support" without actually saying what that means Honestly, at this point, I am convinced there is nothing that any other human can possibly do or say to "help" me I get this sounds cynical, but saying "get help" is not very convincing Comment from : Klipk |

When I got diagnosed with inattentive ADHD and started getting treatment, one of the biggest things that helped me, odd as it may be, was the difference between creating a to-do list on your computer and devoting that list to a physical planner From my perspective, it simply felt more fulfilling to write down the individual tasks for the day that I had to complete, keeping this planner on hand, and crossing them out This to me feels much more like I DID the task, rather than going to a checklist on a computer and checking the box Hope this helps! Comment from : josh murphy |

Thank you for the tips I'm what everybody calls an "Older" student I was recently diagnosed with severe ADHA I've been going to college for the last 30 yrs on and off Some subjects I do 110 with very little studying Others, not so well I love math, but have have taken 5 college algebra classes and failed I really enjoy doing the homework , but when I get to the test, all I see is an alien language Now that I'm on the meds, I'm afraid to try again, or fail again Comment from : Gene Moore |
I can't do 10 minutes of study Once I get started, I tend to be in the 'zone' for about two hours If I get out of the zone, I find it harder to get back to it That's on a good day though If I take too long of a break, I'll feel too overwhelmed to get back to study I also tend to do better with just one task, switching between tasks gets too overwhelming, I find it really hard to start a new task once I've completed the previous one, which rarely happens straight away anyways, it normally takes me days just to complete one task! I haven't been diagnosed yet, however I'm planning on applying for an assessment I think that's why I struggled with A levels, as I did 3 subjects The exams for each of them were also close together Comment from : Anonymous |

I found I did better under pressure I could do 15 hours, 3 full semester classes and 2 offset 8 week classes so I only had 4 classes at any time This was terrible If I did 18 credit hours, I would hyper focus and get better grades I also got more bang for my buck, finished my required courses faster, and got to spend more time tailering my degree and taking classes I genuinely enjoyed Comment from : Walter Ritchey |

This is incredibly helpful It also feels really good to see someone describe the same experiences as me Comment from : Vimo |
It can be hard to reach out to someone for advice or help when you can't think of a way getting help from others will actually help Especially when you've had negative reinforcements on experiences doing that (Whether you were the one who stepped out first or someone "voluntold" you to do it) For me, it can spark my anxiety and for the rest of the day, I'm trying to avoid any and all social situations period regardless of how important it might be because my mental and emotional state is completely out of wack Comment from : HSF 7 |

Holy crap I know things can take a while to reach Wales, but this is ridiculous Universities where I live allow you to complete classes as an online student without attending a single lecture Lectures are recorded & available for download an hour after they take place Studies have proven that taking notes during a lecture is detrimental because you're not paying attention The library at my old uni also had quiet study areas on each floor - no talking, double glass walls As a post graduate student we even had rooms that were only accessible by swipe cards, allowing for even greater privacy brStudy tips - start assignments a day or 2 after they're made available Next, make sure you're on the right medication Antidepressants tend to make things worse as they muddle your thoughts Whilst completing assignments I would find myself changing the structure of a sentence multiple times This is the ADD taking over your brain, in particular the lack of norepinephrine That's why it's better to ask your Dr about an SNRI instead of taking a regular SSRI For me, Venlafaxine was useless, but desvenlafaxine worked a lot better Stimulants work best, but the health issues around these drugs where just to overwhelming for me Comment from : sebastian |
I could not keep up with mandatory readings in uni, I bought the books but could not get myself to sit down and actually read the damn booksbrbrI would manage to read my books by reading my copy whenever I could while listening to an audiobook copy at the same timebrbrI would only work at the campus library using silicon earplugs, and would cram in as much work as possible during the early hours of the morning or in the evening Barely did any work on the weekends, I would use them to unwindbrbrI would take my notes on paper during lessons before typing them out and uploading them on google drive, so that I would have read them at least twicebrbrExercising and doing a lot of cardio helped me with brain fog Comment from : GunslingerPlays |

If ur having trouble w cleaning: I drink coffee everyday first thing no matter what, so lately when I put it in the freezer (I like it cold) I put on a timer and clean for 10 min every single time It’s not long so if there’s other stuff u need to do just pretend u have no choice It’s insane how much easier it’s been to keep up w dishes and trash and stuff like that Comment from : Sierra Farnum |
