I appreciate this video because im bilingual myself by development throughout my life but there is one major aspect on how this is something that need to be studied and proven, people with so called renewed perspectives defying old assumptions why you need proof on something you already know it is the assumption that we humans are so much more aware than every living organism, whilst this is arrogance which forms te biggest handicap to our brains full potential, which we would achieve if we just trust our brain to work autonomicly, in stead of identification as who 'I/me' really means where the identification to who we experience as our selves we connect this to being able to control our brain which we assume that this is who we are assuming with our self-awarenes we rise above what other beings that lack this selfreflecting ability they are still as much aware as we humans are, they lack the handicap to question weather what their doing is right or wrong animals know as we know, and we humans are limiting our capacity because we are so focused on maintaining this sense of self I can communicate with living creatures because im not biased to assume we humans are so much more evolved animals try to communicate with us but arent heard because humans are not open to the possibility that they are capable to do so my advice let your brain do the thinking and stop trying to control it like breathing, you dont need to actively think about having to breathe in that same way stop restricting your brains potential by assuming you need to control it Comment from : Ookin Dooker |

my sister learned english around age 8 and decided to stop speaking spanish since she was held back a year at school my sister taught me how to read english at age 3 and spanish at age 5 I was not allowed to speak english at home and mostly watched PBS in english and spanish news I had 3 accents depending on what part of the city i was one for the hood where i lived, one for school, and one for white folk on the affluent part of the city Now i have a wife that speaks spanish only and understands some english It is so hard to express certain emotions since I think in English I have to translate those words which don't really mean anything in spanish Comment from : Jason Martinez |
|

I am not bilingual I am trilingual Language #2 at age 7 Language #3 at age 12 I speak language #2 at native L1 level with no accent Language #3 is English Both #2 and #3 were learned pretty much effortlessly But I have a thick accent in English To me, this suggests that the cut off is somewhere between age 7 and 12brbrSubsequently, I attempted to learn 3 additional languages, with not much success So apparently, I am not talented at learning languages 😊 I live in a country where it is not at all abnormal to find people who are fluent in 4 or 5 languages And by "fluent", I don't mean it in the way Melania does These people are regularly using all 5 languages every other day About half the country is monolingual, half of the remainder is bilingual, and the rest are fluent 3 or more languages All these languages (except for English), they learn informally The just "pick it up" when they were kids Comment from : Daniel CH |
