I have a $20k emergency fund, 13 of my salary goes to Roth 401k, and any extra dollars go to paying off my student loan and HELOC Ive paid 15k of the 18k student loan off in the past 3 months The student loan will be paid off next month and the $20k HELOC will be paid off next year Never stop investing

"You don't want people with no money teaching you about money" is such a true statement I wish this message would resonate more brbrAnother good example is how an overweight doctor tries to tell a patient how to lose weight or eat healthier Obviously the world class athletes who need to nourish their body for performance or bodybuilders who need to cycle between growing muscle and reducing their body fat to single digit percentages have a better grasp of weight loss and nutrition

Whats the point of paying extra towards a fix rate mortgage of for example 5, if I could invest the extra money for 8-10 return? I might be wrong, but it seems that mathematically it makes sense to increase investment before attacking the mortgage
