Thank you so much for this video Many people do not warn college students about the pay Teachers do not get paid enough to sustain a lifestyle by themselves Usually, the teachers who don't have to worry about anything are the ones who are married to spouses who have a good salary, which many don't tell that part I feel if we had a decent salary, the job would be a little more enjoyable

Hello, I just stepped down from working full time as an elementary teacher in Fort Worth, TX I had was on my 7th year full time teaching in a public school Salary about 58,000 a year plus benefits (I did have to pay "some" on my benefits, but not alot) paychecks about 4,000 net cash a monthnot too shabby

Wow teachers don’t pay alot my sis works as an assistant teacher, she told me that it doesn’t pay a lot and by the time she takes out money for the rent it will leave her with 10400 left and I will help her putting down the rent, and my sister always comes home and be very tried, they don’t appreciate her work, she deals with kids with behavioral issues and not certified dealing with kids with special needs So my sister changed her major into behavioral health, because she told me that she doesn’t wanna deal working with kids because the paycheck is not all that, they don’t pay her overtime, they don’t pay her accidental pay It’s really not worth it

Hey girl I’m starting teaching in the Midwest! Teacher pay starting out it hard for everyone Out in the Midwest we get paid twice a month 12 months a year We also get paid 15 for each day we don’t take of our sick time and can add up to a bonus of 1000 at the end of the year Have you looked at transitioning to another state or getting a k through 12 grade online teaching certificate? That can help teaching online classes for extra pay It’s an extra six classes!

I'm a school bus driver I make, if lucky, after taxes, insurance, (which I can't afford to use) $280 a wk It's not enough to make ends meet It's a joke I know I didn't go through all the schooling, but I did have to get a cdl license and train It's not worth it

I had worked for the school system as a transportation employee and yes us bus drivers, teachers, and other staff we don’t make a lot to cover over bills I totally understand where you are coming from at the time when I was a bus driver for NC schools I used to drop off the students at my former school and go to the family dollar, roses, to get extra supplies to help my former teachers or teacher friends I’ll spend $32000 out of my salary to make sure that teachers will have for our students God bless in your teaching career

Just come across your channel I live in UK (but love following anyone from NC as that’s where my husband is from🥰) I know I’m a hear behind but this same debate is going on here Teachers have had a 10yr freeze on pay rise so this hear the government announced a 3 rise and everyone is up in arms hating on teachers Bear in mind that teachers have not had any rise in 10years and the amount of work they put in is unbelievable I really don’t understand why people have such a big issue with teachers when they play such an important role in society😢

I loved your video I totally get what you said about white privilege too I am a white woman, working in a district that is well-off and starts their teachers 50 higher than the state average Nobody gets a job in my district unless they know someone Even with that, it is much more expensive to live within 20 miles of the district I teach in, so it is still hard For the first 4 years, I commuted an hour each way, and I illegally lived in a retirement community (My dad signed a paper saying he lived there, and I helped him out) I married a guy who makes double what I do, though he has less education It’s easier now, but I still don’t have a savings account at 46 I wanted lots of kids, I have 2 (because we can hardly afford them) I do love my job 75 of the time and that is pretty good Anyway, thanks for the video I totally understand you getting worked up over the crap we face

Thank you for being so transparent and honest I live in California we have some high paid teachers in surrounding districts, but they all have their masters or a PhD I was a preschool teacher and have worked at a Early Child development center The teachers got paid the minimum wage It may be higher in California, but so is the cost of living I find it sad that preschool teachers or teachers who work at these centers who go to school and get an AA or the units to work there get paid the same as someone who never went to school I knew a lot of people who would quit and go to Amazon

Summer time should be a time for mental rejuvenation so teachers can come back strong in the fall But many teachers end up getting another job just to be able to afford some kind of vacation So they have to work more to be able to afford a break

Well, I never imagined becoming a teacher but the current salary I make right now is $36k a year as an ELA 7-12th grade instructor at a private boarding school I'm currently a first year teacher and I concluded that teaching is not a viable long-term profession due to the amount of money one receives And you put in so many hours in and it just seems futile sometimes

the money you should get is going into the school board pocket each time a teacher tell them how much of a low pay they get, the school board gave themselves a pay raise where does our school tax going each year I pay them? not to the teachers Look at the pay that the school board pays them self is where you should start look at what they do with the money that they get from home owner that pay taxes I will bet they take trips to las vagas, or spend it on them self, before pay a teacher a pay raise by law the school board must release the money spread sheet where the money went to look at the waste of funds that are trust to them follow the money, from the home owner taxes to the break down, of the funds You might get very upset, and ticked off

New 2ndary teachers in London make around £1900 a month for an average of 60 hours a week When you said that you made $2600 first salary my jaw dropped The rent for a studio in London is circa £1100 without the bills Most of the newly qualified teachers rent a room and have no work life balance It will take years before one's salary would get any near to yours and of course you will never buy a house whilst living and teaching in London! For years they are still wondering why teachers are having a mass exodus?
