2005-2006 tundras are outstanding 65 footbrBeds Good cab space, an over performing 270 horsepower engine Awesome ergonomics Fantastic visibility If you can avoid the rust you got a truck that can easily go half million miles Easy to work on Easy to find parts Tons of first gen tundras on the road You can get them with low miles for around 14-17 k I love mine

I went to a dealership yesterday Found a truck I liked for $27,000 on their website and mentioned it and that it was well below my budget Guy immediately went “oh, no that’s wrong now It’s actually $34,900 So, if you trade in, I can keep you just below your budget” It wasn’t worth more than $30,000 at absolute maximum I have never walked away from a sale so fast
Comment from : Hannah Christine

GingaBread
Peterson Auto Group is pretty bad with the mark ups when i got my truck almost a year ago in 2022, i saw a 2011 ford ranger being sold for 24,000 they are now a year later in 2023, selling a 2010 ford ranger for again 24,000 no ford ranger that is 10 years old or older is worth more than 10k
Comment from : GingaBread

Aaron Kowalewski

what are your thoughts on a 2002 chevy Silverado ls, 128,578 mi for a $8995 list price? I have yet to see it but pics are due up on their website soon and I'm sure I could get it sent to a Virginia dealership so I could put eyes on it and check for rust and test drive it it's a one owner truck from South Carolina 4-speed auto w/ overdrive 48l/v8

I understand the worry behind a salvage title and lift kit you didn’t install but, wheels? C’mon And the “low profile” tires which are not at all low profile they have more tire than a stock tire

These guys have such a bias, their report is not trust worthy They recognize some values could be high or low but depending on the manufacturer they accept outright or reject manufacturers they seem not to like

The last vehicle I bought at a dealership was a 99 Chevy Silverado in 2011 I'm still driving the truck and just finished replacing the water pump on it and renewed the licence so I can drive it again It's been a very reliable truck for me I've bought 3 vehicles since, and all 3 were bought privately I bought a 2000 Dodge Caravan, (not Grand) and I paid $50000 for that van After that I bought a 1998 Ford Windstar, also for $50000 This past summer, I bought a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan for $100000 I've been extremely happy with each purchase Yes I've had to do some work on each, currently I'm looking for a new engine for the 2000 Caravan, and the Ford Windstar got t-boned in an accident in January, so it got totaled outwhich is why I'm looking for an engine for the 2000 Caravan to put it back into service The 2006 Grand Caravan has a coolant leak and I've got the components to replace parts for thatbrBut overall, I don't plan on buying from any dealership until the prices become reasonable again and I need a vehicle I can't get through a private deal

If everyone would quit paying the stupid price there asking this would bring the market back to where it should be but greed is driving this market

Great podcast I am actually in the market for a newer truck as we speak I’m actually selling my 02 F-250 with the 73 Powerstroke Amazing truck but for what I do I need something a little better on fuel that can also pull my camper I have been looking at the F-150 with the 50 and the Tundra with the 57

monocogenit1
Great video guys Thanks again I was about to buy a truck, preferably a 3/4 ton truck, started looking online and soon found my budget jump from $25k to $35 in about 15 mins of looking All the trucks, besides mid size trucks, were way above that for lower mileage vehicles Guess I'll be waiting until I save more money and/or markets cool down a bit
Comment from : monocogenit1

bapi1129
Pre-2011 Frontiers have SMOD issue
Comment from : bapi1129

Jason Brown
Part of the problem is people are buying crew cabs and extended cabs with every option imaginable This affects the used truck market too because there isn't enough standard trucks in the used market It also makes the manufacturers think that people want every option on their truck and they push out more $70k trucks rather than $40k trucks It's hard to find a standard cab/long bed truck This makes the price of really old trucks go up because you have to buy an old truck to get a standard cab long bed truck now
Comment from : Jason Brown

Joshua Parada
I recently bought a 2001 73 powerstroke for 9k and I was wondering if I got a steal! Anyone can reply please

Had a 2003 2dr 40 explore sport Those were good pond hoppers I understand why no 2door Ranger 40sthat 2dr explore was dangerous fast for the wheelbase It could get away from you in a second under full throttle and slippery conditions
Comment from : Chief🏁RC

Chief🏁RC
Id like to add if you only need 2wd and pull 3lb or less, get a 2006 and up Ford Crown Vic/Mercury Grand Marquis/ or Lincoln Town Car I just pull my 16' 70hp fishing boat and get 20ish mpg average keeping 65mph and under These cars are 50/50 balance maybe just 50lbs heavier in the back and make great shop trucks idk if you've ever seen their trunks 😆 Also Roadmasters and Caprices are cool but I'd rather save them
Comment from : Chief🏁RC

joshua sobocan
People always seem to forget that the colorado/canyon from 2009-2012 came with a 53 v8 without fuel management Such a good and reliable truck I have a 2005 40l ranger 4x4 thats in good shape and its ok truck, not the most reliable I also have a colorado v8 and its better on gas than the ranger, can tow more, rides smoother, I had much better luck with reliability, its faster, and is just a much better overall truck On the used market they hover around the same price but the colorado v8 is a better bang for your buck
Comment from : joshua sobocan

I just sold my 2011 Tacoma Sport 4x4 4door 6’bed The truck was in exceptional shape with only 97k on it I had it listed for $29k and had a list of people trying to buy it because it was they said it was nicest one under $30k The problem we ran into was the banks didn’t want to lend on it It was because of it’s age and because of today’s crazy supply and demand market driving prices higher than KBB value I had 3 super excited buyers fall through because of the banks I ended up selling it to a cash buyer
Comment from : John Doe

raymond_(rnt45t1)
These years for these prices are ridiculous I would NEVER pay over 20k for something over 10 years old
