Complete horseshit Nolan Ryan never threw over 100 Comment from : SNoWfLaKe_Da_BoSS |
I’d bet that he threw one even faster before the invention of the radar gun Comment from : Boat Axe |
0:01 shows why he was a thrower not a pitcher If you can throw hard, but can't control it, you're a thrower, not a pitcher Comment from : Jack Son |
He didn't throw a pitch 108mphFunny how they did not mention it in your 16 second clip Comment from : David Roy |
I don't know why people say Arnold's Chapman's 105 mph fastball is the fastest pitch Comment from : jonandfamilyvideos |
NO ONE threw harder or for as long a period of time as Nolan Ryan No one Nolan threw over 5,400 innings over his 27 yr career Never had TJ or was regulated to be just a closer Comment from : Ron Ondechek |
Was this pitch actually verified to be 108 mph? Comment from : nick kritikos |
Way ahead of his timebrWow!!! His fast ball just disappears at the last 5 to 10 feet Comment from : FreedomFighter2112 |
It actually is 108 The radar gun called it 1009 but it didn't have the technology thay we have now It's possible it was higher, but we will never ever know Comment from : Botwhoappearsincomments |
The pitch was clocked at 1009 mph at the plate That pitch also seemed to maintain speed the entire way It is a bit of a stretch to say he was pitching 108 Why don't they measure at the plate anyhow? That is where it matters Comment from : Ryan Corcoran |
Looks more like 101mph Comment from : Snipes 08 |
Right handed batter would’ve been sent six feet under Comment from : Aces |
I really get sick of these videos and people believe in them It was already proven that these radar guns were indeed found to NOT be as accurate as previously alleged and the speed at release was actually estimated to be at 1048 mph and over the plate was 1028 Nolan Ryan was an absolute savage as no pitcher has ever been like him nor will likely every be like him however, he never touched 108 mph In fact he probably never touched 104 Radar experts with physics degrees have even proved he never did this and explained how the gamma rays used for radars are inaccurate by X amount for the technology that existed the Mark my words Nolan Ryan never threw 108 This is as asinine of a theory as saying that Mickey Mantle hit a 643 foot home run It’s absolutely absurd farce Comment from : DW5502 |
No chance I’m a Ryan fan, but that was probably closer to mid 90s Comment from : Dookie Possum |
That looked more like 96 mph to me Comment from : Shawn Bolyard |
It was 1016mph Comment from : Nathan Paul-Levy |
The most intimidating pitcher of all time No one comes close except maybe Randy Johnson but he also deferred to Nolan Comment from : Steven Adams |
Definitely not 108 Looks about 100-102 Comment from : john basedow |

If that hit a right handed hitter😳 Comment from : Baseball Kid |
Buillllll $hhiiiit Comment from : Paul G |
That's not 108 No way the catcher catches that if it was 108 Plus, no one has ever thrown 108 Comment from : Paul G |
Again me timing the pitches with an iPhone stopwatch isnt exactly the best measure but I put this video and the video of Aroldis Chapmans 106 MPH at 025x speed and timed the amount of time out of the hand to the catchers glove I got 158 seconds in 025x speed for Chapman and 155 seconds for this pitch Not saying either was faster than the other but I'd say its safe to say they're close To be fair Chapman pitched less than an inning and Ryan was a starter in the 9th Comment from : Gavin Van Houten |
Great guy on and off the field My fav player of all time I’ll never forget when robin ventura stormed the mound😂 Comment from : Murica N Cars |
Best pitchers ever -- Satchel Page and Cy Young?? Comment from : LOST SOUL |
Ur throwing smoke when u can hear the ball moving thru the air! Comment from : John Jones |
This same radar gun clocked him at 83 mph on his fastball early that game, fair to say I’m not sure how accurate this is Comment from : Serendipity |
Just imagine being hit by that omg Comment from : Gaming Pro2004 |
I might be more impressed by the fact that the catcher actually caught that ball100+ mph, tailing and moving that way, up from a crouch, with a mask on Pretty incredible Comment from : MD92468 |
210 Comment from : Lt Weinberg |
Is an expeculation btw Comment from : Roy Matos |
Hardest thrower everBut nowhere near the best pitcher ever Comment from : george vincent |
No way a catcher snags it that far outside setting up like he did at 108 I'd say 102 or so This was alot for those cameras to handle Comment from : thunderstruck73190 |
That was not 108 that had to be like 100 Compared to Chapman That’s slower Comment from : OhhhDatzR3AL |
What team was that against? Comment from : Ricky Franco |
the fastest ever was 105 by aroldis chapman i thought Comment from : Nathan Sakulich |

I highly doubt it was 108 Really looked hard though Comment from : Tanner Roberts |
The hitter was probably just thanking God he's batting left-handed & not right-handed after seeing this pitch Comment from : The Delaware |
"What smoke" Sure, 5 feet out of the strike zone Comment from : george vincent |
Ryan was clocked when the ball reached home plate New clocking is when it released from the pitchers hand Ryan is 1088 MPH with new calibration 3 mph over any pitcher That is close to 3 which is a huge gap in all sports Comment from : Magic Marc |
This looks like it was high 90's Its like the story of grandad who tells you he once wrestled a giant bear naked over wild salmoncome to find out all he did was take the food away from the cat Typical old memory gaining myth Comment from : Charles Jameston |
0:01 Comment from : T i m |
Turn to Jesus Christ he is coming soon and if yo turn to him you can receive the free gift of eternity In heaven if you want to accept it believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died in the cross for your sins and and rose alive 3 days later and confess with your mouth that you are a sinner that’s it trust me my friend it’s worth it and if you don’t put your faith In him you go to hell god loves you so much so trust in him and turn to him please and believe that Jesus is lord Comment from : Mrbee1 |
Yeah that looked like maybe 100 Comment from : T i m |
If you look up Aroldis Chapman throwing 106 it looks identical to this because the camera angle But Nolan’s was not above 105, at most I would give it 102 Comment from : Aidan Miranda |
