I’m reading thru these comments of people who work at Sephora saying that the makeup should’ve been removed and the skin prepped I can definitely say every time I walk into Sephora they don’t offer to put the makeup on, they point you to the aisle where things are so you help yourself and they charge for 30min makeup application and it’s on a specific area of the face Not the whole thing

In german it’s different to have a Make-up appointment at MÄC If you book an all face makeup appointment you are paying around like 60$ and after the appointment you have to choose products for 60$ so the makeup is basically free

At sephora you get paid minium wage to do make ups ervices they charge 150 for 60 minutes i should vet at least 40 percent as the artist 🤷 they suck for employees

Ok aside from the foundation issue, I think Mac did a more finished look I was not a fan of the glitter as it didn’t look neat And there is ways around doing a glitter liner even if they don’t sell it He could have used a liner brush with pigment etc the Mac look was more closer to what ur inspiration was Sephora look lightweight and the shadow blending was ok The Mac guy blended your shadows very well Mac wins this one for me

It makes me so mad when theh tell you something doesn’t look flattering on you, like eyeliner or glitter, like you do your own makeup everyday, of course you know what looks best on you! It’s so easy to judge I used to work at sephora and weekends are hella busy I’d work 8 hours and would do makeovers all day Makeovers over an hour at my store we would get into trouble

I'm honestly shocked at the sephora employee for not cleaning and prepping your skin first I always always do brOne difference, when you schedule a makeover at MAC, that's all it is Sephora is different We work with so many brands, and due to the fact it requires product purchase is the reason we are always trying to sell you product And yes, sales is sales, just like a car salesman wants to add a paint protection package, we want to add an spf setting spray! Lol! If we offered just a makeover with no purchase, I know it wouldn't have been so pushy

I work at Mac, and personally, I would have asked you if you would like me to touch up or offer you a makeup wipe to remove your foundation I understand that it’s not always possible because sometimes people are coming from work, school etc but when you make a makeup appointment you should probably come with your skin prepared, because you want to get the most out of your experience and we do have an allotted time to work on you brbrOh and I might be biased but out of the two, Mac definitely wins this round! (I do like yours the best though! )

Ugh! I got fed up with Sephora after the Estée Lauder woman tried to match foundation to my sunburn 🙄 I live in the uk so generally I’m pale and a warm tone (my veins in my wrist look green, I’m not pink toned if I have foundation with a pink tone I look like I’m orange) any way, the assistant tried to give me a cool tone foundation, I explained I usually wear 1w bone and she argued with me for ages, she looked kind of Spanish and she was like “no, I am warm you are cool,” I was like “you are warm but i am sunburnt, when this goes down I will have a tan and this will not match,” but she wouldn’t have it so I just didn’t buy anything I went out the store and looked at my hand (which wasn’t burnt)where she had tested the foundation (my skin is even tone so not much difference between face and body) and yes, it looked far too pink Just wanted to vent that, it really irritated me Any way, overall I liked Mac but I like what she did with your eye makeup in Sephora (much as I’m loathed to say it)

Last time I went to sephora to get a foundation match, the girl gave me 4 shades darker than what I really even am Ugh looked like an oompa oompa shew I was upset cause I even bought the foundation she recommended an the shade lol I went back later that month and picked my own shade out & it matched perfect & was 4 shades lighter within that same brand she gave me

When getting your makeup done at a counter (mac, Sephora, etc) you have to remember it’s still a retail environment When you book an appt the goal is to still sell to you Not just focus on artistry So having you keep your foundation on was the best in a retail environment The goal is to teach and sell Build loyalty and create an experience for you to be a repeat customer Makeup application is free at those places Product purchase is how money is made

It depends on if you booked a full face makeup application or a focus area, in your case the eyes I work at mac, but if my client wants eyes only I will still touch up the makeup a bit But a full face costs more, but that’s something you’re mua should tell you, because in the end, it is you who should be satisfied with the resultbrBut you still look flawless😍
