Nowadays, the best cheap cpu is the AMD Ryzen 3 4100 It’s a 4-core, 8 thread Ryzen 5000 series CPU that cost $65 on Amazon I use it with a GTX 1650 and get 60 fps on most games at high settings on 1080p On Shadow of the Tomb Raider, it gets 50-55 fps on max settings

I know this video is fairly outdated, but for Christmas 2022 I built my daughter a PC for her to use, and it has an Intel Celeron G5905, paired with a GTX 1080 TI low profile and it can run pretty damn well! I paid around $600, which includes a keyboard and mouse, AND a monitor! Paired with with a GPU, these budget processors arent too bad!

Oh dear Linus the guys/galls looking to build a cheap computer will research the snot out of what it can be obtained from the parts they look to purchase and I'm 100 sure that in these days, nobody puts a single stick of RAM on a dual channel memory controller CPU, especially an APU! Well, except big corporation building computers but in this day and age, you'll split even 4GB in two 2GB sticks Anyway maybe the numbers would have not been that great, but the RAM thing man, it does not compute!

APUs that need dual channel memory, mostly because since the APUs cache isn't big enough to hold much video data APUs use system memory as VRAM so it has low latency access to it This was a huge oversight on Linus's part granted the performance wouldn't have been amazing but it would have gotten him 720p 30fps on low in most titles

It's a very interesting product CPU-wise It's almost as powerful as the Phenom II 1075T and it comes with integrated graphics almost as powerful as the R9 270x This is basically a 2013 mid-end gaming PC on a single chip!!!

For some reason all Linus tech tips videos look crapy on my TV when I use the play on TV function on YouTube It's only the case on the TV via that way and only with those videos I really don't know why, because it doesn't make sense but it's worth it to disconnect and watch them on my phone because I can't just not watch them, they are to great👍🏻

I'll be honest here, I bought the 1650 Super because it was the best card in stock, but it's really the little card that canbrbrOn my budget system(R5 3600, 8gb RAM, originally running a 2TB HD reused from my old system, now also has 2 SSDs(SATA and NVMe) as time went on and I could afford to expand), it easily hits the 60fps that my 60hz monitor can put out with hardly any dropped frames unless you go modern AAA, and most games from the last few years will get the full 60 even at highest settingsbrbrAt the time, the entire machine cost less than a new game console(unfortunately chip shortages have scuppered that) and gives me a lot better choice of games, especially since all but the biggest holdout devs are now putting out PC ports of everythingbrbrEdit: Doesn't mean I won't get a 3060(or at this rate, a 4060) as soon as I have the funds, but it's a good starting point if you can't get the money together all at once
