I consider myself a top student and right now I'm in the middle of a struggle Would really apreciate some help: I'm currently in a more prestigious uni than the one I was in last year I was happier in the less prestigious uni and I've been thinking about going back but I'm afraid about the "damage" it could make to my academical goals to stop going to the more prestigious one What should I do? Also, does the uni you graduate from really matters in a professional level if you are a good and hard-working student?brbrThank you to everyone who answers🙏🏻 Comment from : Celia Romero Tejedor |

It's accurate that they know it all, focusing on studies rather than playing games tht distracted me made me enjoy studying Also, he's correct vout doing things physically, screen time is the bad ones and everything you do physically is better than just sitting and looking through your phone Less screen time is enough for me to be top student Comment from : Zucchi Al Diarh |
|
How about just like studying? Comment from : josir1994 |

If you want to succeed in Analytical subjects you need to understand the topic you learning and listen in classes If you do all this you need to do homework in addition to Learning is not hard if you know how to learnbrYou can rarely learn to tests like me and get a decent grade in higher grades it’s more hard without learning to a test but you can learn a lot less time if you apply all those fundamentals And iq is not intelligent Iq is not how smart or intelligent person you are everybody smart you just need to apply itbrbrAll of this letter is my own opinion and from my own experiencebrI respect you all if you disagree with me Have a good day ! Being spent 7 years for 4 years bachelor’s degree, I can say for myself at least is finding what you are excellence at is the best way to be on top of the class both in school and outside school world I have not found what I’m great at while studying double hardwork than most classmates, not a single party during these 7 years in university No body to blame to So I believe if your existence is not useful for the world, you should not exist consuming the resources of the world Comment from : Tawk Tial |
|
I’m 70 years old and love learning I recently learned European Portuguese and tested out at the B2 level The Camoes Institute had all the prior years exams on their website I practiced those tests, worked through any weak areas with my tutor, and was successful on the timed, proctored exams Great video, I would agree with all of it! Here is a Person and a company Elevate Education that does not understand the HSC/ATAR in NSW You can not compete due to external advantages others have, or thier parents I find it concerning that people like this gentleman sell false hope He fails to account that all the top marks are not based on your work, or anything he said Why?brbr[1] You can't do this in NSW becuase you dont get a grade you get a rank, No matter what mark you get that gets put into a rank brbr[2]The second issue how do you account for all the extra confounders that a significant portion of students get special consideration, on all sorts of ground which blows the to marks out of the water as it goes up multiple stand deviations brbr[3] There is the International Baculurate has a 25 x advantage over ATAR brIn the IB you can get an umilited number of people on any mark, and thats the same for A levels HSC is a rank that it limtied to 1/1000 on very 005 percentilebrbr[4] A sufficient proprtion of children are on ritilain which gives a massive advantage for self dicipline and focused study brbr[5] The final killer for NSW is half of your final ATAR mark is wieghted by how your school performed, so go to a bad school and all of your efforts are in vain becuase 50 or you mark is scaled by how your whole year did, which has nothing to do with you They determines your future not youbrbrThe externalities make all your work and effort pointless, and it damageing to your mental health that that even if you do everything he says, your going to fail, (get a low rank), from where you should have been The whole ATAR in nsw is gigged and UAC openly confrms it in its own documentationbrbrThe only solution is to go the French system where anyone can start the first year of any degree and where over prescribed or a particuarl standard is required the exams at the end of first year decideds who stays Comment from : NEWSMAN SUPER |

As someone who recently changed and began to get better grades, i can say that the things he said are correct But at the same time, I belive that a student needs to go through the realisation phase where in one thinks of these things himself and thinks of how he/she can apply this to his student life Comment from : Aadil Sengupta |

Except for the timetable part, this talk is a total platitude or just nonsense It's not that top students choose to do practice exams rather than memorize notes It's simply because that they've regulated their time well and have sufficient time to do extra practice when they have already reviewed their notes for countless time This talk is misleading Comment from : potato |
|
so basically, do past papers Comment from : KengoXIV |

Hii guys, I just want to add very important point which this gentleman missed out, being rank 1 in my university and passing out with a gold medal in my graduation I think the dimension of pondering has helped me a lot In my personal opinion I will give equal weightage to practice exams and pondering Thinking and pondering, for example why this question is asked ? What answer is expected here ? What are the main points that need to be induced ? What can I do differently from others here ? What if a question on similar lines is asked ? Will the answer structure and data points remain the same ? If not what needs to be changed ? If I was given the task of framing question paper how will I do it ?brHope this will help you Comment from : Ashish Vaidya |

How do you define "top students" ? Students who prioritize academic performance (grades) or students who prioritize learning to understand and apply the material? These two things are not always as correlated as you might think Comment from : Jess Stuart |

Another point to make is if you have mental health problems or are neurodivergent Make sure that you are receiving the right support while you are in college I went through a degree without support for undiagnosed ADHD and it was extremely difficult I am going back to college to do a master's (with a diagnosis) and all the right supports are now in place I know that college will be much easier this time around, which will affect my overall grade and quality of life during my time spent in college Comment from : Sinéad Walsh |

in middle school, only a small minority of people are actually willing to work for results Since all the more important variables above IQ are basically minused, yes IQ plays a huge role in results in people who arent willing to work hard This I have observed and has shown in multiple individuals i know In my school, hard work + non-stop dedication despite low IQ can get a 40 A bit of slack + high IQ can also get a 40 Comment from : natalie yam |
|
What are the 13 variables more important than IQ? Does anyone have a link that they could share with me about that? Comment from : Lucas The Pun |

1) Practice tests br2) Self motivationbr3) Reslience across the yearbr4) Don't aim to "just" work hard Hard work is a necessary and not sufficient factor br5) Practice exams (again) : Top students realize that br6) About self discipline : the majority of students plan a timetable and throw it the next day brDon't fall in the trap of overcharge your timetable , plan to do things what you love during your day Comment from : soufiane yes |

Study is fun Give efforts to make it fun generate love and create curiosity even though any subject is tough to you Toppers do have clarity in when to study and when to break and what to study and what not to study Mostly toppers are regular and consistent and always have a plan Focus should be there make balance between study and life rather than doing top Propose should not to be a topper it should to be to learn, grow and implement your learnings Comment from : Jitendr@ |
|
Ah, this explains why I did do fairly well without doing much work in my studies If I had wanted to I could have done much better in grade wise, but I did not really see the point And that is perhaps the number one reason 😂brbrI realised that I must been much smarter than I ever realised I must still be smarter than I think that I am Interesting how it defines what we aim to become in life Comment from : SatumainenOlento |

Thanks alot Comment from : Kajal Vargaonkar |

I have never made a time table I have made many thousands of task lists I'm talking transforming the things you have to do, your study into discrete tasks, applying time constraints and artificial deadlines to ensure that when I'm done, I'm done and I can enjoy myself I sometimes say when Ill start but I never put this into a time table format Not even when I was in high school I had a notebook, each page there would be a task list That was it For a while, I used my school planner for this, but after that I found a notebook far more effective Comment from : Ryan |
