Tremendous success in unraveling the playing of this wonderful hit Great job Thanks for the post Like many of his songs, this sounds fantastic on one accoustic guitar, almost as much as the full production Like many of his songs, it sounds more simple and clear than it actually is This video makes it possible for me to seriously attempt it on my own Thanks so much Comment from : John Campbell |

I'd always thought I knew how to play this song well enough After an acquaintance at a neighbor's party almost convinced me to grab my acoustic from next door and play it for him, I decided to do some homework Your video is one of the best guitar tutorials I've ever seen - great insight into Knopfler's fluid skills and nuance from both hands Comment from : mkrd2000 |

|
Great Video and great chunking on the teaching part You make the song rly approachable brWithout having it mastered, but after watching some tutorials on YouTube on it, I also think that the natural harmonics are a byproduct of playing, and tabbing them out as mandatory is kind of an overmystificationbrGreat insights, thx a lot!brSubbed the first time I saw your work, you rly do sth special here Comment from : FMG |
|
Every video I’ve seen you play in is intriguing and informative, I’ve been playing since I was 8 (almost 20 years ago now) and I still learn new tricks from your videos and how to properly play dire straights step by stepbrThank you😎🔥 Comment from : Blair Enns |

I was dying, literally dying to play this riff correctly, for a while I have seen many covers, many lessons, many tutorials But there was something missing, always as I played it, it felt like something is off, missing, And by grace of God , I came to your video brAnd lo and behold, it opened up like a pandora box brIt took me 2 days to figure it out, 100 accurately as you instructed brAnd i am really feeling it now brIt's very very different brThe beat is pumping in me, and i dont feel like playing notes now I really feel that i am playing alive music that is throbbing Thank you very much This means a lot to me A lot brI knew that Mark plays fingerstyle in his own waybrNot only a good song, a killer riff, with killer tone, but also adds one more technical ability to guitar players (as you learn to play fingerstyle) brYou put in the work and i appreciate it so much Much love and light to you , man Comment from : Rahul Lou |

Pavel, great lesson and I really like that you did it on acoustic so that we can hear the intricacies of the proper picking technique There are a few other guys on the tube whom I have great respect for in terms of their ability to lift lead solo's, but this picking technique is not so common and I believe you've nailed it the best Thanks for doing this vid Cheers!
