GCN Tech
What kind of pump do you take on your rides?
Comment from : GCN Tech

Shithappenswhenu
always bring support van with bike mechanic and track pump
Comment from : Shithappenswhenu

ZhenqiTV
What are the specific Hand/Frame pump and the Mini pumps used in this video??
Comment from : ZhenqiTV

Andrew Labat
If you're going to use the CO 2 canister on tubles, use a 12 oz cartridge It'll give you around sixty PSI depending on the size of the tire
Comment from : Andrew Labat

SteMir ReViews
Thanks!
Comment from : SteMir ReViews

Kyle Sampson
Lmao anyone ever try pumping a car tire with a bike pump? If so how long did it take to reach pressure Asking for a friend
Comment from : Kyle Sampson

KutWrite
Love the British humo(u)r Nice bike, toobr brThe track pump I bought is similar It's called an Air Force Tier Three The hookup is standard these days* but the gauge is at the top of the cylinder, where it's easy to readbr br* I prefer the action on my old pump On it, you push the clamp down to lock the nozzle onto the stem I have more strength in that direction than I do trying to pull up the handle while holding the nozzle tight onto the valve stem Pushing the lever works WITH the nozzle-stem seal, rather than trying to pull it off
Comment from : KutWrite

billnu
I have that exact frame pump and it works really slick for road tires and the gauge is nice for an inexperienced rider like me A little slow for MTB
Comment from : billnu

Seamus Delahunty
punctures are rubbish?brrubbish is rubbishbra flat is a pain in the arse
Comment from : Seamus Delahunty

Benjamin WasHere
Funniest thing about all that is that you get paid to do that Ha What I want to see, is a gcn episode on portable electric bike pumps I don't see that anywhere
Comment from : Benjamin WasHere

Brad LeCompte
These videos are a godsend
Comment from : Brad LeCompte

Stan ley
On market is another (not popular yet) option: battery powered pumpbrPros: pump without effort to desired PSI, smaller than standard pump, most of it has headlight build in and powerbank ;)brCons: heavy (05-1kg) and not fastest Pumps only a few tyres (depends on battery size) before discharge
Comment from : Stan ley

Justin Bouchard 💜
I will pay for the Ollie's audio that we couldn't hear during the mini pump, ahem, pumping
Comment from : Justin Bouchard 💜

Justin Bouchard 💜
mini pump without a little hose attachment is prone to creating a tear in the tube while pumpingbrall the force from pumping goes right into the base of the stem
Comment from : Justin Bouchard 💜

Narcosis
Some mini pumps come with a co2 valve so you have to 2 pumping methods in 1
Comment from : Narcosis

JustinMaisonet
Can anyone identify the brand of co2 valve he is using in the video? I haven't seen anything close to that (just a slender 1-inch valve) and just seem to find the "L" shape styles or the ones that are trigger style This one seems nice a streamlined and would love to have it as a backup option I tried to look at the brand on side in the video, but it was too fuzzy Thanks!
Comment from : JustinMaisonet

Paul Richards
Always carry a mini pump and usually CO2 too Track pump at home
Comment from : Paul Richards

CC Cycling
For me I carry CO2 x 2 because I have yet to get more than two punctures on a 1-3 hour ride When I do metrics and centuries I carry the CO2 plus another tube (3) total, a patch kit/boot and a small mini pump brbrI can only get 40-50 psi from mini pump however, so only enough psi to get me to a floor pump at best I’d rather not have to use the mini pump but hey at least it’s better than nothing!
Comment from : CC Cycling

Kaupo Raag
since when is 1 minute 26 seconds 126 seconds?
Comment from : Kaupo Raag

desihaha
This is all BS I spent $69 and it was was a crap In USA, pumps and tubes for bicycles is a huge scam Why you need three different type of valves in the first place? Keep it same as for motor vehicles, at lease standardize it
Comment from : desihaha

SP OR
Which mini pump is Ollie using? Trying to purchase one at the minute but not sure which is best!!
Comment from : SP OR

colin campbell
mini pumps are crap
Comment from : colin campbell

Julie Townsley
I use ruzer neutron, small and suitable for my low weekly bike miles if ever I need to use it 😅 🙃 🤔 😬
Comment from : Julie Townsley

Will EDC
Since I have a folding bike I call a car when I get a flat Otherwise there is an emergency mini mini pump in the frame if I’m stranded brBut this vid made me buy a better mini pump for extended rides
Comment from : Will EDC

John Ming
I caught my first flat of the year after watching this video You cursed me
Comment from : John Ming

Carsten Weiland
There are mini pumps available with two modes, first mode is a high volume mode, second one is a high pressure mode Got one and it works a treat My home pump is a 12V compressor, gets the job done
Comment from : Carsten Weiland

David Lloyd
At home I use a battery powered pump rather than a track pump I reckon it would get to 60 psi in 10 secs with no effort at all Added bonus it it will do car tyres too
Comment from : David Lloyd

Frances Stager
THANKS Ollie! Super helpful information!!
Comment from : Frances Stager

Kimberly Sparkles
I'm just glad the editor labeled the use of potent literally
Comment from : Kimberly Sparkles

Jonathan Zenzic
I love my Fumpa I do a lot of mixed tarmac and gravel and it allows me to easily change pressures
Comment from : Jonathan Zenzic

Richard S
What brand of mini pump did you use?
Comment from : Richard S

Shiny_44
I thought this was gmbn for a second when i looked at the thumbnail and i was like how am i going to fill my 3' tires with that little thing
Comment from : Shiny_44

Bryant Poh
Electric Portable Pump?
Comment from : Bryant Poh

Soda88
Xiaomi portable compressor runs circles around any minipump you would bring on a ride and it fits a moderately sized saddlebagbrIt has enough charge to pump 3 16" car tyres from flat to 2,2bar and it weighs 480g It is also USB rechargeable
Comment from : Soda88

Jennifer Cash
I think Ollie, if you are having to pump up the same tyre this many times in one ride you've got bigger problems than which pump to take with you! 🤣🤣🤣
Comment from : Jennifer Cash

Steven Hamerlinck
SILCA Track pump with the Hiro-chuck Works flawlessly, very precise and made absolutely gorgeously Bought one 6 years ago, never looked back apart for regret not buying it earlier
Comment from : Steven Hamerlinck

Matthew Velo
Track pump in the garage, minipump in the jersey and a CO2 cannister for group rides with impatient friends
Comment from : Matthew Velo

scottlstone
Surely if you only could have one pump it’ll have to be a track pump?
Comment from : scottlstone

leftymadrid
Super helpful for many I'm sure Yeah, i personally take the mini with me Even though it's not the easiest method I've found that it never hits the psi I want But easily gets me back home
Comment from : leftymadrid

phil spencelayh
I agree track pump is best Mini pump goes with me but hasn't been used for years, hope it stays like that
Comment from : phil spencelayh

James Lee-Pevenhull
An inflator's capacity is its 'Compression ratio x 1 Bar A 7:1 comp ratio will get to 7 bar, 100 psibrA good ex-cyclist ( Greg LeMond ) will get the tyre to a ridable 50 psi with his lungs 🙂brbrWhat I notice is 'gravel bike' 30-622 tyres are the same pressure as 32-597 This brings my 26 x 1 1/4" back into fashion
Comment from : James Lee-Pevenhull

scott Donald
Tubeless tyres for me - CO2 in the saddle bag, mini pump in the back pocket, track pump at home, air compressor for mounting tyres - CO2 i have never used on my own bike just given one to another cyclist!
Comment from : scott Donald

Asa ms
Saw a guy a few days ago with a whole track pump in his backpack
Comment from : Asa ms

Horstcredible
The best pump is the one you have with you when you need it! 🤭
Comment from : Horstcredible

mick chaganis
Good job Ollie has massive guns, he made easy work of it 😂
Comment from : mick chaganis

Enea Rossi
I wonder if there is any danger to damege the presta valve or the carbon rim using the mini pump?
Comment from : Enea Rossi

ankar fin
Can one pump up to 6/7 bars with a small portable pump? I have never been able to
Comment from : ankar fin

ai314159
1:27 😂
Comment from : ai314159

Jeff Hammond
It would be nice to do a comparison of various leading track pumps and their advantages/disadvantages I have both an SKS Renncompressor and a Silca classic track pump
Comment from : Jeff Hammond

Mathieu M
I have a mini pump that came with a frame clip that mounts behind a bottle cage It always stays on the bike now, unless I have to use it One less thing inside the back pocketsbrbrAt home, I have a 38 gallon compressor (I also work on cars), but I always end up using my trusted track pump (less noisy), which I also bring with me in the car when I drive to the start of a ride
Comment from : Mathieu M

Alans Cycling Adventures
I was happy to see Ollie using the very same pump I have - I always have a Topeak Road Morph G with me It’s mounted on the seat tube, and I keep the down tube mount for a water bottle
Comment from : Alans Cycling Adventures

Rod and Julie Stevens
But carbon dioxide is heavier than air Won’t that slow you down by 001?
Comment from : Rod and Julie Stevens

Erik Whiting
What brand was the CO2 tool?
Comment from : Erik Whiting

Keith C
And , don't forget, the co2 will leak out of the tire in about a day You don't have another flat, it's just the fact that the co2 leaks out of the tire in about a day
Comment from : Keith C

Ben Peterson
How long until comments have to be disabled due to creative comments?
Comment from : Ben Peterson

Aeisly Torres
hi, which country are you right now?
Comment from : Aeisly Torres

Gerson Abarca
What was the brand of the mini pump?
Comment from : Gerson Abarca

Nicolas Mancuso

Comment from : Elroc Stone

Comment from : John Ming

luis duarte costa barros

Comment from : luis duarte costa barros

Comment from : Simon J

Jedi’s Dad
Silca Track Pump for the home and Crank Brothers for the pocket Hats off to Ollie!
Comment from : Jedi’s Dad

Dave Pratt
I just spent 2 minutes of my life watching Ollie pump a tire Who says I don't have an exciting life?
Comment from : Dave Pratt

Richard Maguire
Like in this video I use Topeak pumps and find them very good I have an old Road Morph and hold it securely between my feet when pumping this allow both hand to be used and speeds things up
Comment from : Richard Maguire

Dan Soper
My mini-pump does have a short hose, and I find it easier to use with the wheel off the bike I can hold one end of the pump against the spokes with one hand while pumping with the other, with the wheel flat on my lap Much easier than Ollie's way in the video
Comment from : Dan Soper

Jay C
Filthyest GCN video I’ve ever seen 😉😉😂
Comment from : Jay C

David Alderson
Best pump The one you never need to use because you never get a flat
Comment from : David Alderson

Mario Rodriguez
They sell co2 valves with reliable pressure gauges built in
Comment from : Mario Rodriguez

Brian Richardson
So CO2 cylinders are not safe to be used with hookless rims as you can exceed the 73psi limit, especially with smaller tyres
Comment from : Brian Richardson

Michael Richards
Lezyne Carbon Road Drive Screws onto the valve core, which is itself screwed into the valve Unscrew and bang 🤯💥
Comment from : Michael Richards

Javier Rodriguez
actually i've 3 pumps, the track pump at home, obviously The mini pump for rides near the city, and the "hand" pump (pump a little bit bigger, with feet stand and presasure reader) for rides that are over 150km, if I got flat I can "easily" return to the ideal presurebrI go with the hand pump not in the frame but in a String Bag (with food and two inner tubes)
Comment from : Javier Rodriguez

1 Frontier
If there is any passerby looking at Oliver at 5:15 or 6:02, he would leave with so many more questions than answers haha
Comment from : 1 Frontier

dale freeman
I use the same small pump that you showed - Topeak Roadmorph G on my two road bikes and nothing for the 26” MTB
Comment from : dale freeman

Martha Pelletier
I wish you tested the new miniFumpa It’s a new mini air compressor
Comment from : Martha Pelletier

Russell Speight
For the good of your health, you need to have more than one pump in your life
Comment from : Russell Speight

schotte
Or get yourself a Fumpa USB powered pump Absolute genius, good for 2 road bike tyres, and reusable
Comment from : schotte

richard gaudreau
for my part the canister is the best ok but doesn t cost a huge amount a money under 15$
Comment from : richard gaudreau

Devil Inside
This might be different around the world, but CO2 canisters are refillable
Comment from : Devil Inside

leonbroekx
I would have expected to see something like the fumpa pump Does that work?
Comment from : leonbroekx

robert rj m
I use a long pump (54cm) with an external gauge as I struggle to get to 85psi (6 bar) with the mini pump (as olli did since he only got to 40psi in 1:20) Its also the cheapest and lightest option all plastic, indestructible since I have it since 39 years now when I bought my Koga Miyata where is was clamped along the down tube in between the BB and the top tube brIt now lives on my Roubaix and is fixed on with 2 releasable cable ties to the side of the down tube I never leave home without it At home is a track pump
Comment from : robert rj m

Jon Yeo
What’s the best mini pump? Pls recommend
Comment from : Jon Yeo

Evan Darling
You really need to get the nerd glasses on and explain the properties of CO2 vs O2
Comment from : Evan Darling

560smr
I know that road well near Bamford in the Peak District
Comment from : 560smr

Tom & Rachelles first dance
I like a mini pump but do worry about what people think when they go past me on a quiet Sunday morning down some lanes and I am furiously pumping away
Comment from : Tom & Rachelles first dance

Tom Bainbridge
Which mini pump are we all using?
Comment from : Tom Bainbridge

Yisrael S
Used to use a Silca frame pump with a campy head Looked great on the bike Not so good using it Every so often the vavle would let the pressurized air from the tire back into the pump and launch the pump insides like a missile What fun My Silca track pump on the other hand is almost 40 years old and still going strong
Comment from : Yisrael S

pinoyeh
I have a mini pump strapped on my bike frame If I get a flat tire, I just replace the inner tube, fill with air that is enough to bring me home
Comment from : pinoyeh

Sparky Survivalist
A tire air compressor is my go too air pump I set the pressure connect and boom usually about 5 secs and I’m good
Comment from : Sparky Survivalist
