I would really like to see if the results are the same if you just tied the tabs together with some thread and did not butt the ends i think it would be much stronger it only flies apart like that because the tabs are already cut tabs are strong when they start out whole

That 'sharpening' tool is actually for honing, which is a different process than sharpening

As a welder/fabricator and a armor and weapons enthusiast, there was parts of this that was hard to watch That said, good for you on trying something new The uniformity of the pop tap armor before it was ripped apart, was surprisingly very appealing

For someone coming from a relatively uninformed position I appreciate the attempt to be as fair as possible, a couple notes:brbrOne reason the armour failed was because it was butted rather than riveted, it would of course be harder to get a rivet through a pop tab so I won't fault you too much for thatbrbrHowever edge alignment was a much bigger factor, I couldn't tell on the first two swings but the third hit at a very bad angle and significantly reduced the damage that it would've done without any armour

to be expected though im curious if closing the cuts after linking the rings might make it more effective (either just melting the tin back together or maybe using using a soldering iron) cuz the cuts in the tabs is what caused the armor to fail in these tests so without those weak spots how would it fair

i 'm french : I live in Lorraine near Germany For sharpening sword/saber you have to use hammer with anvil to reshuffle it ! (like a scythe) Use the grinder only for sliming your blade down !

You didn't even need to experiment The pop tabs are aluminum The sword is steel Using the Mohs scale, you would've known the sword would pierce/slice through the tabs But I guess you needed content and views so you could make some moneybrbrBut the little flimsy foil dagger you made, you should've known that would've never workedbrbrAll in all, you have an acuity for making a video that garnered views So I guess this proves that social media is a frontier for idiots

It doenst matter, even if it were riveted, the aluminum is just way too soft to stop a proper steel sword from slicing throught A trained swordsman would have cut through the mail with one hit Also the weight of the weapon isn't relevant when stabbing, a kitchen knife would have gone through just as easily as the steel sword
