There used to be a device sold at Best Buy called The Time Machine when I was a kid and was literally the same thing you built! I remember doing chores to get game tokens😂 It taught my and my siblings the value of time and how to manage it wisely so we had time to do other things😄

When I was a kid my mom would set a timer for only 5-10 minutes for me to use the playstation and I could never get her to understand that it could usually take that long just to boot up a game and get into it So I was never able to really save anything

What this guy didn't realize, that powering off a console like that, it will damage the hard drive Is like unpluggin it right from the wall Next time the console is turned on, it will have the corrupt message This guy should have done it as i did He should have created an USB timed coin box My coin box receives the controller cable to a receptor A second usb cable goes to the console So it will not cut power, it will disconnect the controller instead common sense is, the battery needs to be removed from the controller So it will just send signal to the console, by being wired No wireless

hmm why not use a system that rejects controller connection this would allow save games as well as a way to override it or a 10 and 5 minute warning timers so you can save and exit before time ends

My parents would solve the problem with a very low tech device that is normally used to keep someone's pants up, but they hacked the design to create a child disciplining system Worked wonders to keep us up on our chores and homework - and since it used no electricity, it was very environmentally friendly
