Great vid brThank you! Comment from : Medicine and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu |

Anyone who knows anything about gold will not care what mint it comes from 9999 gold is gold You may not get your premium back when times are hard everywhere, but it is still goldbrI bought a few pretty gold rounds, not worried about the premium I preach purity and weight in both gold and silver Sovereigns or generic rounds, when push comes to shove weight and purity will rule I buy pre-33' gold and they have the best chance of recouping premiums, even though I am NOT planning on getting my premium back They are collectible and they are gold Comment from : Winston Smiths |
Yeah I was trying to sell a 1/4 Queens Beast Unicorn the other day Had no luck for cash offer so i opted to accept some silver maples plus cash It worked out to be roughly the same as cash value but definitely selling numismatic coins are more difficult, takes more time, and hurts my heart a little more than genetics Comment from : Hung Nguyen |
Sometimes I feel like the only people that can afford to save are the people that make so much money they don't even need to save Obviously anything could happen to anyone where they are drained of all their funds but I think in general I'm right Comment from : Alan Zimmerman |
Still here, u da man! Just stacking for insurance, so selling is not the point Not a numismatic kinda guy When I finally get to afford gold, it will also be for insurance and quick liquidity Comment from : Gen10nine |
Great Show as always!! - You by far have the best Gold talk on youtube!! Please keep going!! How about for me a show on the difference between Ultra High Relief and other levels of reliefs i'd rather hear it from you than google search /sorry if you made one alreadybr - Thanks Again! Comment from : Christopher Cortes |
OK I subbed Your comments make sense to me I worry about the channels with paniic placed in Comment from : Bruces Shop |
I see coin collecting/numismatics/exonumia as an endurance run I enjoy seeing numismatic coins I got in high grade time to time but also understand playing around with them too much accelerates their aging The one area of weird gold/silver/copper that seems to do better than most is the Dan Carr issues over at Moonlight Mint Dan comes up with some artistic and novel work Maybe not as intricate as some of the larger mints but still aesthetically pleasing and interesting Comment from : alphabet661 Chris Sahar |
You made some excellent points here Since, I plan to hold my Gold until I really need to sell it, I don't intend to flip for profit and I would most likely sell to an LCS This further reassures me that I'm doing the right thing sticking to recognizable Gold coins like Maples, Phillies, Britts, Buffalos and of course Eagles and staying away from Semi's Thanks for sharing!👍 Comment from : dukenukemani07 |
I strive for that stack of buffalos Others too, but the buffalos just look so good Comment from : ronejr766 |
I am sorry I can’t afford to buy your cool gold, but throw in an autograph and maybe the incentive is there Comment from : Rhett Lee |
I recently bought 10 oz of 1 oz bars of the Perth mint stuff like you said nothing like 30 oz for the more collectible stuff their is also a Perth mint 1 oz bar of the silver that has a snake on it coiled around the bar might grab a few of those just to have since their is only 3500 total ever minted Comment from : D3LTA KING |
@2 is 1: I am torn, have three ounces in 1/4 oz maples and want to turn them into three gold Buffalos but I am going to lose in that trade, am I not? Comment from : Eric Kisel |
My stack is comprised of gold & silver that either had lowest premiums when I bought or was a great deal I got on eBay That’s why my stack has a lot of bars Also low-premium coins & rounds like silver philharmonics, buffaloes, and even 2-oz silver mayflowers Comment from : Slapdat HughJass |
eBay is the worst Comment from : Clued In |
Just a great reminder for me to keep stacking the boring stuff (for the most part)! : ) Good luck with the land purchase Comment from : 72cmcinc |
Pre 1933 - Ebay is the best platform if you are not in a hurry If you list at 10 day auction, your turn around liquidity is about 30 days Unfortunately you will take a 20 haircut with fees Comment from : Jim Scherer |
Simple really, just set up your own trading option, we can all join in 👍 Comment from : CPS |
I’m looking to get a 1/4 Yale Tudors Beasts currently one of the cheapest Gold 1/4 coin do you think it’s a good buy or gor for the cheapest Britannia or pay the premium on some eagles Comment from : Yerrr Mum |
Like you, I have bought and sold 100s of ounces of gold I attribute my losses as the tuition for the education on what to buy, and what to avoid I owned a 2017 Dutch Mint Lion Dollar (coin of the year) and the 2018 Dutch Mint Lion Dollar I paid about $3,500 over spot for each coin I quickly learned that it was impossible to sell these coins It took almost 3 years I found buyers when the USA government gave every poor citizen a $1500 stimulus check in 2020 (I did not qualify for stimulus, I earn too much) The buyers told me that they wanted to buy something “real” with the stimulus I lost about $500 per coin after shipping, insurance, and eBay fees Never again will I buy something that expensive Another painful loss was buying gold coins that were minted from the Scottsdale mint The dealers refuse to buy them, and the on-line guys will only buy them at melt Now, I only buy buffaloes, Brittanias, and Maples I only buy 24 caret coins It is all about liquidity Gold is money, it is not a play-thing Comment from : Honor Code |
Question is out of topic little bit, but i would like to know your advice for buying these gold coins as a savings, for next 2-3 years for a house purchase, what you think, is it good idea? if you can please answer as soon as possible, thanks Comment from : Dāvis T |
I’ve thought about picking up the 1/4 and 1/2 oz 2016 W walking/standing liberty gold coins, but fear I will have buyers remorse I love the design, but I feel like it’s the “wrong gold”, even how attractive the coins are Comment from : JD Zazz |
Those are emotions buy don’t forget the golden rules you will hope to get spot price when you sell and you will buy at spot price or close when you buy well over the spot price because of a Perth mint at 5000 mintages you really have to hope gold will go very high to get your money back but the buyer can only do spot at best !!!!or be ready to wait twenty years to sell at auction Comment from : Bono Mark |
Thanks for defining a good selling strategy Good show! Comment from : Bandit Jones |
The exit thing is my Achilles heel 😊 Comment from : Tina liebe |
So the question is, will we see $200 a barrel for oil and $5 pears before the president decrees no oil will be exported? Yes, he does have the authority Comment from : Yedidyah - Jed Shlomoh |

🍺 Comment from : Papa Zee |
I stack gold maples, Brits and buffalos I collect silver numismatics like Morgans and Peace dollars as well as vintage 1 oz bars Not a perfect plan, but its 1 i can follow Take Care Comment from : Mike |
not informativelets say that gold buying has two aspects You are buying the gold, and you are buying the coin/round A 1924 St Gaudens Double Eagle, for example, is 987 oz of 22kt gold but it also has numismatic value if it is in VF or better Ebay ran out of them at spot and now are selling for a high premium The lesson being, its best to go for older, American coins USA coins carry a premium because they are USA (sorry world, just the way it is,) and also the older coins are rapidly being hoarded and the price on ebay literally goes up week by week You can buy gold, or you can buy gold that matters Numismatics is far from dead You just need to buy the right coins Maples are greatbut they will never be more than melt I've seen Liberty Head 1 oz double eagles and eagles go from about spot price to now about 10 percent above Comment from : Hunter Falck |
You'll get bored without the weird minted coins Comment from : Dax Monster |
Gold for property at a peak Hmmm Comment from : Califboy115 |
Rabbit holes are akin to gopher holes They're interesting to gaze upon until a heel lands in one at an awkward angle as the eyes weren't focused on where we tread The ensuing mind numbing pain as the body sends profound distress signals to the brain that wash over us like a warm summer breeze reminds us not to be intrigued by either as they're simply just another hole Buffalos, Eagles and Brits carry no anguish and they''re easy on the eyes Cheers! 😃 Comment from : Stryker Enterprises LLC |
Oh well Win some and you lose some Buy Krugerands next time Comment from : Glen H |
I don’t get it You knew when you bought it you’d have to flip it on eBay Comment from : Conrad |
Thank you for sharing your experience Comment from : NC Farmer |
I tend to do it the opposite way Flip silver and stack gold You know me, I’m boring when I buy my gold Comment from : Silver Britches |
And yet still won’t feel near the sting selling those as some of these guys buying MS70 ASE’s for over double spot because they are in plastic 😬 EXTRA SPECIAL!!! Comment from : JDre2155 |
i should of bought more gold instead of that usgold stock 😢😅 Comment from : indy |
Yes, the painful truth, limited doesn’t necessarily equal rarity or value What an eloquent way of destroying the myth that you will get back your premiums from purposefully limited mintages 👍👍 Comment from : Tom Tharos |
I could be missing something But it’s seems like if you are stacking gold or silver you would always want to pay the lowest premium possible And if you want to play the collectibles game buy at the best price you can and sell at coin shows Comment from : Kevin Williams |
Check out Art In Coins for the "weird coin" examples Comment from : Matthew Holbrook |
Only been stacking for a few years but from the beginning only assumed I would hopefully get spot when I went to sell part of my stack Comment from : wasilla stacker |
Give it to Stormy he will get double for it🥃 Comment from : Jimmy Twotone |
Seems a bit of a scam all theses coins so far above spot Comment from : John Beekman |
Do you think it would be more worth to flip 1/10 Oz coins? Like some of the lunar Perth coins always jump in price after the year is over, eBay fees + shipping would still let you be profitable but would take longer? Idk, I’ve thought about trying it Comment from : Abid |
Still Here my stack is for wealth preservation only no collectiblesIt's great your have options Comment from : mel man |
Thank you for the video! I’ve been thinking of selling some weird fractional gold and getting 1 oz US mint Best wishes to all! Comment from : Michael McCoy |
Pre 33 is better than "rare" comms If it's only about financial gains I've learned eagles and Buffalo's are the only option in the USA Comment from : shiny_samson |
2is1 whay are your thoughts on Au perth dragon bar coin??? Pass? Concerns about liquidity down the road Thanks Comment from : liberalizm_is_a_dizease |
great video to learn from Your channel is brill Comment from : Shrimp Man |
You need two more oz of weird Gold to equal a Kilo of fun 🤩 Comment from : Bullion Addict |
My problem is the more I get, the more I want The more I don’t want to sell Going to have to be something really great, or really bad for me to sell Comment from : wayne gough |
I have had great luck with some uncommon gold coins 2023 Disney 100 years of wonder 1 oz, 2014 Wedge-tailed Eagle 1 oz, 2023 1/4 oz Star Wars coin No problems (eBay) good luck with the property!🎉 Comment from : Fun in the Sun |
You flip silver not gold More buyers Comment from : DJbabynoneck |
I have the Myths and Legends series, they're my "never sell" coins A guy on facebook offered me spot + 40 for the 2018 Dragon/phoenix I said no 😁 That beings said, semi collectable stuff is easier to sell on the secondary market than standard bullion in my experience Everyone is always on the lookout for the Myths and Legends while no-one wants a Kangaroo or Britannia Comment from : James Doe |
What if you would sell to a highly rated buyer Is that even an option Prob not Comment from : Keith Daniels |
I like to buy fun silver rounds for my grandkids (colorized Paw Patrol, Barbie, Baby Yoda, etc), but otherwise I only buy vanilla bullion I only get Maples for gold, and in silver I have both ASE and Maples, a pile of 90 junk coins, and a few 10 oz bars I'm not smart enough for numismatics and collectables One of the key advantages of precious metals is liquidity; why wouldn't I stick with choices that emphasize that advantage? Comment from : Ultimo Re |
I feel like the Scrooge 1oz gold coin is involved in a lot of people's silly gold purchases Comment from : Brandon |
I fell into the set trap with the silver Germania Allegories, paid some huge premiums (one was $80) but now it's done and I only need one per year until they stop I try to have a stack that doesn't break the bank but I also want items that I enjoy looking at Comment from : Silver Enjoyer |
I bought a coronation proof quarter gold sovereign but if I sold it, I'm not sure I'd get back what I paid for it (£235) as the gold content is only worth about £90 Wish I had bough a non-proof half-sovereign instead Comment from : Barry Stanton |
I met Chase from SD Bullion a few days ago Great guy Comment from : ox talks |
I consider Perth Mint gold niche goldBeautifully made but not as liquid as Eagles or Buffaloes Long term though I think Perth stuff will go up Comment from : IgglyBiggly |
The only gold coin I would consider selling at this point is a 1910 $20 St Gaudin's It's in excellent condition except it's mounted in an 18K necklace coin holder Belonged to my mother and I love the coin except it is held in place by 4 tiny tabs than likely damaged, to some extent, the reverse rim It should be sold as jewelry and remain in the setting I would likely replace it with a mint state coin Comment from : Roger Johnson |
Another great video with good information to contemplate The Betty Boop gold coin at my local coin shop comes to mind 😂 I wouldn't touch that thing with a 10-foot pole Comment from : Toad Republic |
Thanks man! Great video Comment from : P Diddle |
I buy for my Son's future yes I have some for me but I don't plan on selling , and hopefully will never have to but full ounces are very hard to sell in the UK people are going smaller these days Comment from : Chris BH |
I spent a month on the sidelines watching Reddit transactions and eventually got courage to order a 1/4 gold coin Got a great deal, but scary at first brThe trick at first is to only deal with sellers w/ a ton of flair, as they have something to lose if they ship you fake stuff brMy risk tolerance is higher than most, but I almost exclusively buy on Reddit now that I know the ropes Comment from : Kngdmio |
I've been a fan of keeping things as simple and reliable as possible and this is a theme that runs through my life The more complex something gets, the less reliable it tends brto be and usually at a time when life provides plenty of unwanted complexity all on its own So, in terms of gold stacking, I only stack AGEs, Maples, and some Britannias I like brthe Britannias a lot so will be adding more as I close in on my gold stacking goal Hopefully, that will occur sometime in early to mid-2024 but it's one of those wait-and-see brtypes of things Because of this, I don't have any exotic / fun / weird gold in my stack and have no plans to add any I might add some pre-'33 gold at some point but am notbrin any hurry to do so at the moment Comment from : Ed B |
Makes me glad I never got into 'collectible gold coins' Sounds like you are breaking even at best or at worst losing a bit of the sale Comment from : ComicCommando |
My guilty pleasure::proof and RP Libertad Huge premiums, low mintage but don’t plan on selling anytime soon Comment from : Phil |
Great video, very thought provoking 🤔 Comment from : Azure Blue |
Nobody really needs a Lambo Comment from : num1cheechwizard |
I like how you're video's stay Relevant even after year's, Cant say that about tube doomer's Have a great week Comment from : Nancy Montplaisir |
Give me eagles or give me death I never sold anything I bought The silver collected when I was 7 years old for $5 an ounce is doing fine I look at eBay to look at the real price of physical gold Paper gold isn't real Comment from : Yedidyah - Jed Shlomoh |
Hi just stacking buffalos and eagles here Though what is your opinion on the Mexican Libertad? They are pricey but I’d like one someday just because of the artwork Comment from : Jena Steiner |
Stack no collect I did buy Asahi dragon silver rounds, but was only 11 cent premium over regular round I liked the look Comment from : Muscles Mouse |
Just sometimes it is not about the Premiums Cold hard Satisfaction Comment from : num1cheechwizard |
Serious question: What type/wattage of light do you use to illuminate your coins in these videos? I’m assuming the black background also helps the coins pop Comment from : ProgressiveGoldbug |
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER… Buy collectible numismatic coins, bars, and rounds They are insanely difficult to sell at your cost basis or profit when the time comes 😬 Comment from : Joshua Aaron |
Unless the US government pays it’s debt in gold, the 76 trillion due in the next 12 months will bring extraordinary pressure to EVERYTHING Comment from : Norman Zimmerman |
Thank you for convincing me to continue to stack Cdn Gold Maples I don't want to go through the hassle of finding a buyer when it's time to sell or trade Comment from : Throckmorton |
Weird to me is Kanye’s gold toilet, Paris Hilton’s gold handcuffs and the solid gold frying pan made for an episode of Julia Child’s cooking show All of which liquid with my local LCS Charlie who’s a freaking stud! Price is a different story so I’ll stick to coinsbr🥃 Comment from : Christopher McCormick |
Have you considered trying to sell on one of the new livestream auction sites like WhatNot, either by yourself, or consigning them with one of the sellers already established there? It seems a lot of higher end bullion is sold there, mostly silver, but gold as well There are fees like EBay, but items move quickly and WhatNot provides pretty good protections for both sides I believe Many sellers have presence on both EBay and WhatNot, but seem to like the support they get better on WhatNot I don’t sell myself, so you may want to contact some of the sellers to develop some relationships I think they are always on the lookout for good sources of things to sell… Comment from : OldDaddyBear |
100 my experience Lesson learned the hard way Comment from : Bill Dalton |
My weird gold is Ducats, sovereigns, Roosters and Mexican pesos Still gold but might sell and convert to 'normal' gold Comment from : Mark Gotschall |
Just buy buffalo and eagles Any other coin you rarely will get your money back If you buy anything but buffalo or eagle you are buying it for your own satisfaction because you won't get your money back Comment from : DD |
The farmers that I buy from here in middle Tennessee will only take American coins, junk silver, American gold or silver Eagles I usually pay with silver eagles since I have lots of those Comment from : JayV |
i used to collect coins in a series If you miss one, it sucks especially if its a homerun coinbrso for me coin series are a "all or none" venturebrkinda sounds like that is where you're atbryou can always sell and load up on something better or more comfortablebrbtw I used to sell on ebay a lot before the 60000 tax bs kicked in Ebay was always around 13 so i'd mark things accordinglybrso I could make something, but I would only break even at time Comment from : Nathan R |
Thanks for explaining ⭐QUESTION: What about selling through reputible Auction Houses? Comment from : Esoteric33 |
