Funny thing with the GSA CC dollars Even with the low mintage, because so many were forgotten in bank vaults and spared from the Pittman Act melting, several of those CC dollars are more common today than "common" Morgans For example, 1882-CC is estimated to have 700,000 surviving coins, but 1882-O only 498,000brbr1878-CC had a relatively large mintage of 22 million, but only 295,000 or 13 survive today 1881-CC had much lower mintage of 296,000, but 180,000 or 60 still survive today

Dude between the morgans and the type set they must be the only ones has in his collection but that is worth more than stackin physical silver probably as a retirement He has spent ALOT of money on his collecting and collection!

My dad started a set in the 60s after purchasing 200 of them for face value at a bank following one of the treasury releases The silver spike earlier this year helped me finish it off a few months ago (except for the 1895)!

That is so neat! Thanks for sharing My dad has a few older Morgans I love the way they feel in my hands; they are so much larger and heavier than other coins But my dad's are much darker and more circulated It was great so see old coins in such great condition I was surprised they weren't in air-tires But you must take special care of them The Morgan is one of the most beautiful coins Thanks again! (BTW, what was that piece of paper underneath your 1884-CC in the GSA?)

Very nice collection My personal preference is towards albums that have a good mixture of uncirculated and circulated coins, showing a wide range of conditions Not to knock this collection, because it is beautiful But visually, I find a mixture of grades gives the eye more to look at, as you can compare the various states these coins are found in Circulation wear equals history In some ways, I find the 1899-CC in this album to be the most interesting coin here It's fun to imagine this coin being used in a poker game in the wild west Regardless, anyone who can complete (or nearly complete) a set of Morgans has done a fine job of collecting!

I wish I had the money to buy a set I know somebody that actually has a full set and almost another full set But they want so much money He is trying to sell everything now so that way his wife doesn't have to worry about it when he is gone He's had cancer for about seven years now It is in remission
