would that Anker be of use with a 2009 iMac ?brI see those HDMI ports on the Anker and I wonder if I can transfer programs that I have recorded from my cable TV onto my DVR, and now transfer them to my computer and make a CD or DVD with my iMac Comment from : @crabapple6775 |
Nice imac from 2001 Comment from : @user-ve4fy8rd1p |
I think your videos are great, full of good information since I am shopping for a used imac but you are turning into a drama queen Comment from : @sonnygrant374 |
I do not think any one will buy a iMac with Intel i5 where now you can buy Mackbook Air M1 or M2 processor with that price , Apple price their product ridiculous Comment from : @johnnyjax6444 |
Great video thanks Yes, the older iMacs are stille great I am running a 2013 27" i7 iMac with EXTERNAL SSD drive And it runs great But I will replace it with a 2017 model, since this can run OS Ventura or an 2019 that can run Sonoma I work with Fusion 360 and my 2013 cant run this anymore but boy The old iMac is still a killer Thanks mate for a great video Comment from : @hfranke07 |
M1 iMac design is really a thing… you cannot beat the beauty of the earlier models Comment from : @jameslemode |
I certainly would go for the M1 as well since I do not have the no-how or even the desire to rebuild one And I may well get a refurbished one too, but when I do get one, it will be from Apple of course I did buy my 2020 MacBook Air from Amazon and did very well, but it was new With a good screen, you really don't notice the size of the screen at all I go from the 133" screen to a 16" screen all the time and I don't notice the change With the 24" iMac, I will probably notice the size but that will come in time Apple products are quite good no matter when you decide to buy them And they are always available for you Comment from : @maryajaniak2896 |
I would buy 21,5 inch, suits my table and I like look of it Comment from : @alexd9800 |
I loved my 27" iMac so much for so many years The iMac screens need to be 27" or larger For Mac to go backwards to 24" as the largest iMac was just heartbreaking for me That's when I said that I was done with the iMacs I hope that they will come out with the iMac 27" or larger in the future Comment from : @ASmith-hb4ed |
M1 Macbook is half the price of imacs where I live Comment from : @user-dg4qm2bl4b |
Just got a kinda maxed out 215 iMac from late 2013, for 99$ lol - can't wait! Comment from : @basically_chris |
I will continue to snap up intel macs for the mean time while Apple kind of sorts themselves out Apple Silicon is great, sure, but I am a linux user on just about every machine I own I have been grabbing cheap apple laptops and decommissioned desktops for the purpose of using Linux on them and it's been great I have two Apple Silicon Laptops, the M1 and M2 base models, and I got an M1 Mini for the MIssus to play World of Warcraft on I maintain that the M2 is underwhelming and the lack of functional linux for Apple Silicon points me back to Intel based Macs I suppose it's all about use case The "Supe'd up Intel iMac" would be wicked if you could do something about the GPU There's still some gamer in me, so having a capable GPU is a want, but not absolute need I guess, if you've built up a streaming rig with a strong GPU I digress Comment from : @jasonhughes1526 |
Anyone other than Apple fanboys got sick and tired of Apple pushing form over function! I own a 27" 2017 Retina iMac that I bought refurbished (with pci nvme SSD, and upgraded ram to 40 gig (for $35)) and will never buy another Apple product as they continue the drive towards planned obsolescence If the guys at over Core legacy patcher can give older macs a new lease on life (running Sonoma on mine right now), so could Apple, since owners of older Apple don't need support from Apple anyway Instead, Apple does all they can to prevent older imacs from running newer operating systems Comment from : @jeffme6891 |
1k is not cheap 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Comment from : @dillkilltv3942 |
I just paid equivalent of $512 USD including tax, after promotions, for a brand new M2 Mac Mini from Apple brbrI spent another $100, and bought a Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard (with numpad, no Touch ID) from Facebook marketplace for a great deal They’re in perfect condition and I will probably make money on them if I need to sell them in the near future And I literally found 2, fully functional 1080p Monitors in my buildings recycling area A quick cleaning, and digging for some cables and they work greatbrbrI sold my old MacBook Air to buy the new Mini, so it literally cost me $2 out of pocket for a brand new machine The accessories will probably end up costing me nothing The MacBook Air I sold was in fantastic condition, and a very capable laptop, I’m sure it will serve its new owner wellbrbrMac computers are amazing, and will last for over 10 years, no headaches, if treated well My new mini is about 5x as powerful as my old Intel MacBook Air, and runs average 60-70 degrees C cooler, even if I push it harder!brbrThis iMac, in my opinion, is not a good a dealbrbrI’d get a mini, an Air, or make the investment in a MacBook Pro Macs are worth it Comment from : @sshah2545 |
I'd rather have a macbook hooked up to a larger 4k monitor I don't really get the point of an imac at all at this point, other than offices, schools, etc Comment from : @Jeremy-kg1zr |
its the keyboard Luke those suck Comment from : @will300c |
27" Comment from : @ruadrift |

what year IS THE M2 IMAC LUKE!!!! please i gotta know Comment from : @dreamsun69 |
So you're telling me the base iMac sells for the same price as a MacBook Air, and the only difference is a bigger screen and being attached to a wall? No, I would certainly not buy that over a MacBook Comment from : @shapelessed |
I’d love to see how you upgraded to the i9 in that iMac and what other hardware you changed out and what tools you used Comment from : @mcatlow8 |
I just bought the base m1 for $600 never used form my buddy Good deal or na? Comment from : @jesse73429 |
His reaction to Amazon price feels so forced 😂 Comment from : @maurynaheehs5963 |
New IMac design is childish That toy feel prevent me from buying it Comment from : @sunyoon3410 |
Affordable💀 Comment from : @Vortex21543 |
Funny how you think anything apple is "affordable" or a "good deal" Comment from : @NerdPanic |
Rather get the Mac Mini M2 with a great monitor-) Comment from : @chancesareshewears |
I use a late 2006 17in imac with core 2 duo cpu 64 bit with Linux i will never buy a mac i like computers like my dell or hp systems but i found it for cheeo at a thrift store and decided ehh why not lol Comment from : @Jordansklar0698 |
I bought one secondhand for $500 Comment from : @rwlnd1542 |
For $700 I can get an AMD Ryzen 9 7940hs mini-pc with over twice the processor power, four times the storage and memory I can spend $200 to $250 on a nice monitor and still be ahead (Actually I am planning to use my late 2009 27” iMac as a monitor if I can make that work) Comment from : @john2001plus |
Chin looks horrible without the iconic logo on the front Comment from : @megatronskneecap |
I love the design of the iMac! Especially the green and blue one Comment from : @rylon_ |
Am leaning towards the Intel i9 Comment from : @onimisilovesonmusic4548 |
The m1 I mac looks like a hp Windows machine No apple logo throws it off Comment from : @onimisilovesonmusic4548 |
The biggest problems with iMacs are that you cant upgrade them 5 years down the line the performance starts to suffer and you want to look at another machine but the 5k display will still be an excellent display But because of the performance its it’s resale value will also go to the dogs Comment from : @abul1 |
Just picked up one for 55000br8core cpu 8 core gpubr1tb ssd 16gb ram brTouch ID keyboard, mouse and trackpad Comment from : @dolph9913 |
I'd take the i9 model, just for the repair/upgrade and thanks to Opencore you'll have mac OS support right up until the last intel mac to be supported Not to mention you've got the avenue still open for Windows/Linux too Comment from : @Kyle-xv5kv |
didn't they make that silver one in the 27 inch as well? Comment from : @grant9047 |
Yeah, my 2013 27" is still shredding Boots from a 2T SSD Plenty fast Renders 3D images quickly Comment from : @Tedroy |
I would love an imac It's just out of my price range right now My buddy might be able to hook me up with one, but it'll be silver (blah!) Comment from : @MrShalvayez |
1000 dollars would get you a much better performing pc So saying its an insanely good deal is skinda strectching it Comment from : @zamb0di |

I have the old intel imac… 2015, it’s on its knees I bought it for photos but now I edit movies, host live meetings etc is the other worth investing in? Or do I need to payout a little more? Comment from : @firstfruit1212 |
Who gets this excited for a low-feature refurbished imac 24 that’s still over $1k? Comment from : @majorcheese2345 |
For Me a M1 Comment from : @williameverets2736 |
Please stop calling $1000 affordable lol Comment from : @Somethingtoponder1 |
You forgot the most important thing you're missing on the base models A second flash chip Base mdoels only have 1 256 chip instead of two 128 or two 256 on the 512 model That results in much lower access speeds Comment from : @TheEdge92 |
I got an iMac 2017 on Mojave and a MacBook Air M2 on Ventura, any idea how I can use my iMac as a display for my M2? I found plethora of info but not for these 2 specific ones, any idea? Comment from : @kpopbutlofi |
I bought a secondhand imac 27 with i5 32 processor and 16gb ram and am extremely happy at £360 Even the standard 1Tb hard drive is fast enough for my needs Comment from : @alangregory3284 |
I use a 215" iMac from 2012, and I paid $75 for it Love it, and I have done quite a few upgrades to it My favourite computer ever Comment from : @ottobunny-ctf |
And the small storage isn't a problem because everyone has USB C(???) external drives??? Comment from : @simonwilliams2109 |
Dumb question So ram amount is not as critical in theM1 as Intel machines????? Comment from : @simonwilliams2109 |
I think the best deal is really a refurb 202 27 iMac You can get the for good deals and can upgrade the ram to 128gb whenever you want There are more ports, the screen is bigger and higher resolution, and performance is basically the same as the M1 chips The newer M2 chips beat it, but those computers all cost a lot more once you add getting a bigger display etc Comment from : @Teamshmo |
The m1 iMac specs is so bad Comment from : @Cris-dw2oh |
What little monitor is that on the right at 1:26? Thank you in advance! Comment from : @ligonc1 |

br

I forgot to mention that the biggest fault for the failure of certain machines is yours, dear youtubers Go look at how many videos on macbook you made and how many on imac Could it be that the macbook attracts more clicks and views? Comment from : @carldock5223 |
I'll tell you why it is underrated I participate in many groups on Facebook and I have noticed that the masses only know what others say They speak from hearsay Most of the questions on the groups are "I have to buy a macbook" "how much does a macbook cost?" "What do you think between macbook pro and air?" brAnd so for all other peripherals They mention and ask only and exclusively only those that are on everyone's lipsbrIdiots! Comment from : @carldock5223 |
If they sold the m1 iMac with black bezels and in space gray or silver I’d have probably bought it The color choices stopped it from even being a consideration for me Hoping they release a 27” in space gray or silver soon 🤞🏽 Comment from : @jayteknica1175 |
That M1 iMac wants a M1 Pro chip Comment from : @archie7012 |
Are these good for games? Comment from : @8213apice |
if they offered it in space grey, I'd buy The funky colors are a no-no to my room Comment from : @blakryptonite1 |
That colour you have is making me squint lol Comment from : @ZyliceLiddell |
In Australia, it isn’t such a good deal Comment from : @ZyliceLiddell |
I thoughts Macs are overrated tech devices Comment from : @butchgo8930 |
The new M1 iMac doesn’t have the Apple logo I think that stopped it from selling people want to look and see that they’re working on a apple product that’s what branding is all about! Comment from : @andrefelixstudio2833 |
I’m an old school Mac guy, started on the original ‘84 128k, been with Apple my whole computing life, was an Apple Authorized tech for at least a decade (lapsed due to the ‘08 crash :( ) but I’m back in the repair biz at a local independent Mac shop… it’s good to be home :)brbrI went with a 27” 32 i5 (late ‘15) just because of the upgradability, I’m planning on maxing the Ram, and hard drives (it’s a Fusion model), I have access to an i7 35 CPU, and maybe even a Xeon from a scrap Pro we’re parting down… I’m considering picking up another cheap host ‘tapered edge’ iMac to try some hot rodding on (Xeon swap, max the Ram and hard drive)brbrLooking at the iFixit tear down on the M1 iMac, the thing is basically an iPad on a stand, the actual computer hardware is all in the ‘chin’, upgradability is almost nonexistent Comment from : @MacTechG4 |
24 inch is too small Only 8 gigs of RAM I often get a message that youtube is using too much memory It's like $1,000 to get more memory Ridiculous Comment from : @jamesm654 |
I am loving that iMac 24" I made sure I at least had the 512gigs of storage, due to having duel fans and a better heat sink chamber much better speaker setup, among other differences, by just paying $200 dollars more how much better it is than the base model This is my 1st iMac ever I have always been all about PC I have just gotten sick of PC all the bugs and all the preinstall crap, compatibility issues etc PC is king when it comes to gaming, which I don't get why Apple in this one major area doesn't get much better graphic cards to be more competitive I do wish my iMac was upgradable and knowing after so many years I want to upgrade it, were back to the just toss it away and go buy a new one scenario Was hoping Apple would get past that This on its own has a pretty damn nice monitor and the built in speakers do a pretty nice job I got upsold on this one and got a great deal during one of Costco's special deals on the iMac 24" Comment from : @saintkenny9296 |
I’d buy the M1, buying the Intel is like buying a PowerPC when Apple went over to Intel (iMac G5, anybody remember those?!) Comment from : @simonrevill |
Greetings, brbrThank you for your video, brWhat is the model number on the 215 in iMac? I'm going to look into it, you've piqued my interest brbrThank you Comment from : @Atlantaco |
$800 m1 macbook air on amazon, $600 m1 mac mini on ebay, and $1010 base model imac m1 We have are in a new golden age of apple Comment from : @raymondgradzewicz |
I am currently using the 21" iMac iedit 2019 (found at /ii7:02/ii)/i & it's perfect for streaming & creating content The 4K screen is the cherry on top 🍒brDefinitely better options out there, but can not complain at all Comment from : @ToxicCallum |
Plus i9 9900 for it's 14nm+++ it can boot camp to W11 for most steam games, some AAAs and so, and it supports Win11 I think? And Luke's package is cheaper than Hackintoshing i9 13900K or 12900K for almost the same gaming perf iwithout that $1599 RTX4090/i Comment from : @anetizen6404 |
I used to use noting but 215" iMacs because it was all I could afford I loved them for their size and how little space they use I got a 2020 27" for $245 on FaceBook Marketplace which is a steal so I finally have a 27" Comment from : @IHeartMacsH8r5 |
In my personal real world experience and observation Most of the people who use a Mac are some type of creative Creatives want power and screen real-estate with the most resolution you can get for the money they spend on investments Outside of that, every other case use is largely dominated by windows machines I know this is a Apple channel and perhaps you tend to overlook that fact Not to mentionmost people can't afford a Mac for general home use $1,000 is a lot of money for many people and families to put towards a computer Macs are expensive That is my guess as to why it is not popular IPhones and Ipads are bare minimum necessities to get by on with day to day task for the vast majority of people Comment from : @RichbergEnt |
A PC user here I don't like iMacs or any other Apple products but its nice to see your enthusiasm Comment from : @ishfaqulhaqueduke3238 |
A step forward? Give me a break I need to replace my ageing 27" iMac and my choice now is a 24" iMac or Mac Mini There's no way I'm going back to 24" No way! The mac mini option is only viable if I don't buy the Apple monitor (Mac mini + 27" monitor is over $4000 here in Oz Ridiculous! Get Real Apple! Comment from : @bref5532 |
I feel blessed I brought the IMac 27” Model:MXWT2LL/A open box for 549$ at Best Buy which absolutely looks like a brand new machine Open box is so worth it Comment from : @ohyea2723 |
