maple
I decided I finally want to understand math because I’m so tired of breaking down everytime I see a math equation I’m also extremely tired of barely passing math so I’ve made up my mind I want to at least pass with an 80 this year and I’m gonna try my absolute hardest to achieve that goal and I’m actually going to try to catch up to my classmates and stop making excuses like being in algebra 2 and having the same knowledge of an 3rd grader when you’re in 9th is embarrassing So thank you so much for posting these courses 🙏🏾 gonna binge watch these and write lots of notes
Comment from : maple

Osmeli
Thanks for making this great course for free! God bless you!

Joy Davidson
04:36:56 you could also just count the negatives from left to right - negative, - positive, - negative Pretty much what you said but less worky
Comment from : Joy Davidson

Joy Davidson
4:28:35 it might help to think of this as an alligator which eats the bigger number For instance : - 2 < 5, 5 is larger so the alligator eats it!brI hope this helps someone in the future

Delores Hill
I am so much enjoying this course I am on the order of operations I finally understand it PEMDAS, when I first memorized this - I did not understand the left to right in working the problem when it comes to multiply, division, addition and subtraction I could never understand when I was in class when the teacher was teaching Algebra, and it was not explained fully the left to right I remember thinking, that when I think the answer is one way, it is another answer I was so confused and frustrated Thanks to your tutorial I was able to understand this principal At one time I hated math, but now I am beginning to love it I will continue with the videos and learning I feel like I want to go back to college I am 81 years old and I feel this is a new beginning of understanding Math
Comment from : Delores Hill

AFernando

Julie
Thank you sooooo much for this! It is a really great review for my son
Comment from : Julie

Konstantin Semyonov
Excellent material! One mistake you keep on making is with the square root The square root of any number actually yields two answers For example a square root of 4 is 2 and -2
Comment from : Konstantin Semyonov

Inez
Thanks!

Inez
I just finished the course You are amazing, thank you so much
Comment from : Inez

Inez
13:57:58 I thought the zeroes after the decimal point on the left do have value and those on the right after the decimal point do not have value So when you move the decimal point to 32 what does that mean? I'm a little lost Sorry!!!

Live And Learn
I’ve struggled to pass Algebra 1 in high school and nearly flunked elementary algebra (basically the same thing) in 2008 in college Now I’m returning to elementary algebra in January 2024 to work my way up to college Algebra by the end of the year so that I can eventually start my ASN in nursing This video is helping me prepare for my inevitable ascension in my career, thank you so much! In years to come more comments will be singing your praises for your work Wish me luck everyone
Comment from : Live And Learn

Inez
At 11:42:36 why do we add together the denominator, but we multiple the denominators?brIs it because the denominators in the multiplication problem do not have to be the same?
Comment from : Inez

Ryan Archuleta
I received an associate in business back in 2018 and I just recently decided to go back for Environmental Science, which will need some math credits I haven't really had to do much algebra in years so I totally forgot all the little rules such as going left to right during the order of operations I do remember PEMDAS, but I incorrectly took it literally and did multiplication before division instead of whichever comes first left to right I've watched about an hour a day for the past few days and all these little rules are helping me remember the basics so I don't end up lost when I have to take some of my upcoming math classes
Comment from : Ryan Archuleta

The place value chart is an abacus An abacus helps a lot to physically go through the place value chart It connects different neurons to help to really know what numbers represent Very different to just working with Pencil and paperbrbrI’m starting this lesson by following along on my abacus (learning that too!)

I am not understanding why we are factoring whole numbers down to the smallest size? What does that do for us ?br7:40:58 I attempted to read more about it on the internet, but I don't get it Thank youbrbrIn addition, I thought it was great when you kept repeating yourself, when you explain things over and over again it is greatbrThis was when you discussing how to multiply square roots with and without the parenthesis You are an amazing teacher!

Comment from : Inez

Inez
My brain does not understand at 6:01 why without the parenthesis it means it is the opposite of? -4 squared vs (-4) squared brI'm lost Wy do the parentheses make a difference and why without the parenthesis is it an automatic opposite of? Thank you🙂
