11 years later and this really helped! Except that we had to push the record button 3 times…😉 We have a newer information system screen, but it worked just the same!

This new remote i got to replace my original dish network Joey2 Remote has that #1 at the bottom of it but mine doesn't slide out to flip over It's stationary and cannot be moved It says DISH on the remote itself as if it is compatible but i can't get it to work with my Joey2 Receiver I could only get it to work with my Samsung tv So i still can't change the channels or do anything with the Joey2 which is the whole reason i bought this piece of crap remote I got it off of Ebay because when you contact Dish Customer service to have them send you a replacement remote they make it mission impossible for you to get one asking a million and one questions that i don't know the answers to I hate DISH and want to get Cable instead

Thank you so much for posting this info Some soup got on my remote so I had to find out how to take it apart to clean it and just hope it worked but I guess I didn't notice if it was on #1 or #2 or that there was a chip inside that tab So found your video flipped it over and followed your instruction and that was it - fixed You can't find these remotes on Dish anymore either

For old remotes newer remotes dont have the switch on the tab anymore and the switch is located on the left side of the battery compartment TV 2 works on uhf and tv 1 is IR or infrared Check the remote antenna too at the back of your box if its screwed tight and standing up

I have the same problem with not being able to get the SAT button to light up no matter how hard I push it, so now it is stuck on just the TV's control functions but, in your video you have another Dish Network remote to use, I do not, so did the technician tell you how to get the original remote back on SAT by maybe some sort of remote reset button or sequence of buttons on your broken remote?

how can I get my remote to make the shows fit the screen on my TV ?? we tried everything from pushing the zoom buttons to the format button and still the picture won't fit the screen our TV is a 55" and the picture on the screen looks like is a 36" this is driving me crazy trying to get the picture to fit can anyone give me advice on this mess

Or if the button keeps switching to a different light at the top, just hold the green button at the very top until all lights light up and you press the furthest button at the top left It will flash through a couple screens and you have your remote working again! It took me years to find that out and I would just get stuck on the same channel for a month! Lol it works for me and you should do it to your other remote

FYI, the remote 'chip', discussed in this video, that identifies TV1 or TV2, isn't really a chip It's the plastic two fingers or prongs that slide into the remote One is wider tan the other (fat vs narrow) This eccentricity causes a slide switch (just visible inside the slot) to slide left for TV1 or right for TV2

Thank you so much My dog got my remote and used it for a chew toy When I found it the little chip was out Of course I put it in backwards and it wouldn't work and I tried 3 other remotes even a brand new one without success I flipped the chip around on the chewed on one and SUCCESS!! THANK YOU!!
