I would definitely have included David Cook's Billie Jean He, Clay Aiken and Adam Lambert were probably my favorite contestants over the years I would have ranked Clay's Solitaire over BOTW, though they were both great performances And to this day, little makes me smile quite as much as his Build me up, Buttercup, though I suppose that is too light of a little confection for an epic performance list brOne other favorite from a contestant who left early was Bucky Covington's The Thunder Rolls He may not have been one of the best singers on the show over the years, and he was never going to win, but there was something I really liked about his voice

I don't think Fantasia was the best of the season, though I loved here arrangement for "Summertime" and arguably not the best of this list or any list where Melinda Doolittle is an honorable mention I was even not going to split hairs between most successful winner for you pick of Kelly, though I think it's Carrie When you put MindyDoo as honorable mention you voided this entire inventory

OMG literally when I first saw the top 10 one moment I thought of the Candice Glover Lovesong cover, from time to time I keep reminding this performance, is incredible I've watched that season and when I saw that cover of Candice that traumatized my brain It's been so many years and I keep reminding it every certain time and I keep singing her cover She was so shocking with that performance

Haven't seen all of these because I took a break for several years from American Idol A lot of good picks! Agree with the Kelly Clarkson one I'd put her in the top 3 Carrie Underwood's "Alone" was also fantastic She nailed it brbrI don't think Fantasia should've been number one I wouldn't even put her in the top 10 Always found her overrated and a little screechy I do think Clay Aiken's "Unchained Melody" is better than his version of Bridge Over Troubled Water, but I could be biased I don't think anyone can match Art Garfunnkel's vocals in BOTW It's one of my top 10 favorite songs I also really liked Clay's version of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" He has a lovely voice He should've won, not come in second! brbrI would also add Katherine McPhee's "Over the Rainbow" I remember that performance being just gorgeous
