I’ve been playing for 15 years now and I’m still sitting through your video bc someone told me I didn’t use proper technique and that I smush the strings and don’t use my fingertips correctly lol With that said, I hope it shows how grateful I am for your videos and how much trust I have in your teachings lol Great video! m/ Comment from : armandobravo4L |
If you bar the 5th fret on the 5th and 4th string with your first finger you still get a G power cord as you are still playing the same 2 notes you would if you play em on the 3rd fret first string and 5th fret second strong They are just inverted It's how Billy Gibbons from ZZ top plays them usually If you want to mute all the strings you aren't playing very easily, you can just put a hair scrunchy slightly infront of and on top of the nut Lazy playing at it's finest :D Comment from : Erulin68 |

enjoyed your lesson on power chords! Comment from : Jordan George |
Excellent instructions Just one note (pun intended) :D brOne can play an E5 power chord by playing open E-string (that's the thickest one, the 6th string) and seventh fret on the A-string (that's the second thickest one, the 5th string) and ninth fret on a D-string (that's B on a 4th string) - so its like 0-7-9 (E-E-B)brbrAnd of course, same 0-7-9 (A-A-E) goes, if one wants to play A5 in that position from one string below low E - from fifth string Comment from : Ose Marvin |

Watching you play and teach with your genuine smile reminds of Dwight Yoakam’s axe man Eugene Edwards He smiles all the time like he is sooo in love with what he does I am a 63 year old retired UPS driver that decided it was time that I learn to play guitar YouTube and Pinot Noir (red wine) have become my mentors! 😂 Once I stumbled on to your site I have found that learning is a bit more enjoyable You are straight forward and understanding when it comes to the struggles At 63 getting your fingers, hand and wrist to move the way that it needs to is a chore Your power chord lesson along with Sean Daniel’s 1 finger cord lesson has inspired me enough to move forward Thank you for taking the time to help an older person learn!
