If I had some advice for someone young is I would say live in a van for a few years while working as hard as you can and save everything Find a cheap property and pay for it up front You will save yourself so much time and money You will gain 2 things, one is an appreciating asset two is not having a huge mortgage each month means you can save and live a nice life

It really depends on your situation and how long you plan on living in that area 10 years? buy 3 years? rent Generally you don't break even on a home for 5 years Also buy something that can be remodeled a little at a time & go ip in value Replacing the floors, doors, windows, electric, landscaping , one step at a time can make it worth a lot more over time
