Lots of comments about my placement of Egypt, so let me respond: Geographically, Egypt is in Africa However, from a cultural and genetic perspective, it is also very much a part of the Middle East Although it had interactions with other parts of Africa throughout history, it also had lots of interactions with the Levant, Anatolia, and Mesopotamia Therefore, for reasons of design and in order to more easily show several key interactions that occurred in ancient times, I placed Egypt next to the Middle Eastern civilizations rather than the Sub Saharan civilizations In the video, I mistakenly summarized the horizontal sections as the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia & the Pacific but it would have been more accurate to describe them as the Americas, Sub Saharan Africa, Europe, the MIDDLE EAST, Asia & the Pacific In other words, I did not mean to insinuate that Egypt is a part of Europe! Finally and most importantly, please note that there are no geographical labels on the poster itself While civilizations are generally shown from West to East, this is a history poster, not a geography poster, so it's not exact

Tanya Twyford Troy
This is fantastic However, as an Irish person, it would be great to see our passage tombs, particularly Bru na Boinne, and Newgrange, the oldest standing structure on the planet, represented on the chart It dates to around 3200bce - 2,900bce It is often forgotten and it is hugely significant as a Stone Age site

Anna Simonson
Choosing the emergence of writing as a starting point makes sense, but different areas developed writing at different times If you’re showing prehistoric and archeological findings from other civilizations, why not do so for the Middle East? I think choosing the advent of agriculture and organized societies would be a better starting point
Comment from : Anna Simonson

Good history tracking and highlights, however it looks like that many older empires are 17:01 missing from India 🇮🇳, before moguls intruders, India’s was very large included Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Tibet, shree Lanka etc etc Romans were doing business trade with India as well
Comment from : Dave Johnson

Michelles Designs jewelry and more
BCE is offensive to Christians as a Christian and how are we going to know all the Christians on earth because a lot of them are underground hiding from their evil government (China) and other places Something that tends to get swept under the rug, I thought I'd point that out and Jesus isn't common There are a lot of people who at least believe Jesus exists however but they don't like follow Him and believe like whole heartedly BCE before Christ's (physical) Existence

MegaMaxiepad
Fantastic piece I had no idea multiple major ancient civilizations had collapsed roughly simultaneously Hard to read a lesson today, given that we are now a global civilization (plus the historical collapses took centuries), but it's rich food for thought Thank you for your research work

Hermit Watcher
Climate events, mass migration, and pandemics - things we are dealing with today However, those three things had an effect on the size of the population That’s what triggered a change in periods If the coronavirus wiped out 50 of urban population, or there is a catastrophic weather evens that destroys a densely populated area, or we migrate off planet earth, that’s what will trigger a change It’s the change in size of population It’s like abrcollective knowledge and memory is wiped out, forcing humanity to start over But each time they do, they go a little bit further and a little bit faster If climate change triggered a massive weather event like a tsunami or hurricane or something that quickly and drastically changed the size of the population - meaning that half of the population suddenly died at the same time, or if we finally figured how to colonize the moon or mars, triggering a migration off earth, or if another pandemic like covid or the Spanish flu killed half the earths population, I can see humanity entering in a new era In all honesty, I think we are most likely going to be able to leave earth and colonize another planet, than a pandemic or a massive weather event

Great chart! May I make a suggestion to include Gobekli Tepe of Turkey, which dates back to 12,000 BC, and SanXingDui of Southern China, which challenges the theory that Chinese civilization originated from a single source, the Yellow River
