I remember hearing a story about petty officer midget, he got super pissed at a recruit for not saying his name right, it was intact pronounced the same way as a small person midgetbrbrAlso at 9:23 pretty sure that's petty officer Pacheco, mainly just remember how short she was and the tattoo, very easy to not look at her Comment from : Fiddly Biddly |

i think i remember reading that all the branches semi-recently received drill instructor cross-training from Marine Corps drill instructors (maybe 2013 or so?) brbri showed this video to a friend of mine who went through USCG boot camp back in 1997, and she said it was NOTHING like this, ever brbrher husband went through Navy boot camp in 1995, and he said it was a total breeze, barely anyone raised their voices the entire time, said it was actually pretty fun brbri guess they've tightened up in recent years Comment from : roflmows |
This training Just like imprisonments very hard work Comment from : mau wah tsang |

For a military branch that doesn't get appreciated enough, their boot camp makes Army basic training look like a breeze and Marine Corp boot camp feel like a college semester Comment from : James Tyson |

I went to Boot Camp at Alameda in 1960 Lots of yelling and screaming, even some pushing and shoving, esp if you got out step on the grinder I hated hand washing our dungarees in the big sinks behind the barracks My favorite part was going out in the row boats At first, we didn't know what we were doing and went around in circles After a lot of yelling and screaming we finally got our act together and got going We would have four boats in the water at a time and race around the island Civilians on the shore would cheer us on FUN Comment from : ALAN ZACK |
Bruh there obstacle course is a cake walk for us marines Comment from : OG dah don lock |

Damn the tattoo policy got liberal AF from my day (90s) Full "sleeve" tats VERBOTEN ! Not much was allowed to be visible while in ANY uniform or variation You ladies & gentlemen think being accepted into THIS Coast Guard and THIS "boot camp" Is tough (it is) try the USCG Direct Petty Officer program Harder to get accepted into & pass than OCS Our CC's were Senior & Master Chiefs SEMPER PARATUS ! Man this brings back memories It's changed a lot since I went thru but that scene in the head had me LMAO It gets so hot and humid, especially once the walls and ceiling start to sweat The off base runs were the best tho That was my first time feeling proud of myself and my country and the Coast Guard Big thanks to all the civilians that supported us on those runs It was very reassuring to me as to why I chose to volunteer and dedicate myself to serving our people Comment from : DP Improvements |
It's harder than this, don't let this fool you Comment from : Joshua Shakir |

They are not even a branch of the Military They are Homeland Security And prior to that they where part of the Treasury department During A time of War they are a branch of the Navy Unlike the Military, When the Government closes down because their budget did not get past the Coast Guard is sent home Why ? Because they are not part of the Military “Semper Paratus” Abandon Ship Comment from : Scott Griff |

Went through in February-March 2021 in Charlie 200 and going into the first three weeks I considered myself to be completely insane for signing up for it It’s an experience that ends up being a seemingly never ending roller coaster ride for sure I went through when COVID-19 restrictions and concerns were at or close to their all time high so my experience was significantly different than most people before and after me It’s hard for me to say if that made things easier or harder Probably a little bit of both My company commanders were interesting to sum it all up It may not seem like it but they really do want to bring the best out of you I do hope to see them again in the fleet somewhere so I can properly tell them thank you Coast Guard was the best decision I ever made Comment from : Tidewater 312 |

The Coast Guard Boot Camp looks harder than anything I encountered in the US Navy Boot Camp I went to Navy Photographers Mate A school in 1970 We had Coast Guard and Marines in the school also If I was a young man now I would strive for the Coast Guard Comment from : Brows Man |
Alpha 109, Alameda Two ambulances would follow us to the grinder where we would high-port (hold our M16 over our head and run) without water until 2 of us passed out and fell down Those two were hauled away in the ambulances and they never came back, discharged This happened once or twice a week They worked hard to weed out the weak Comment from : broadpath |

I went through Coast Guard recruit training over 20 years ago, and if I had any advice for new recruits heading in it's this: Memorize and embrace the acronym BOHICA, which means Bend Over Here It Comes Again It's like that every day, all day You'll be fine Comment from : omcorc |
i had Petty Officer Midget for one of his first companies he was ruthless, but also my favorite always so sharp in everything he did, and when it was all over and we could talk to them like regular coasties after graduation, i could really tell he cared about us i hope if he ever leaves TRACEN that i run into him in the fleet somewhere Comment from : Spaceman Spiff |
