I've had one fake note in my six years at work, I knew it was fake as soon as a shady ass guy with a cap, sunglasses and hood pulled up took a 50 out and tried to go without his change Insta called security and got a pat on the back for noticing it so fast We till workers deal with so much with minimal thanks from our higher ups 😂 but hey the job is decent and pays somewhat okay so we put up with it

That'd be a sure fire way to end up in jail I mean normally you'd call the police, but with this the person is just incriminating herself, especially when turning things and claiming things that were never said

i was in England this spring and had 20 pounds that I had gotten in a previous trip and had taken home with me I tried to buy lunch with it and no one would take it because it was prebrexit They said the only way to use it was to go to the Bank of England I gave it away because I was in England for the one day I find it interesting that the English don’t back up their money It makes my day to here how much brexit is costing them and how poorly they back up their money!

Most of the time the customers argue and ask for the manager The manager calls the cops 100 of the time One time I had a regular hand me a counterfeit note Really nice guy Worked all the time, never caused trouble, was friends with a lot of the local law enforcement brbr He said he knew where he got it from Since he knew where he got it, I told him he could go there and try to get them to make it right Instead, he pulls out three more notes and says "check these, too" All counterfeit He asks for the manager I explain that the manager will call the police, and they will confiscate the bills He'll lose his money He says, "no problem, I'll call them"His complaint ended up shutting down a local counterfeiting ring

I had a customer come in one time with a fake 100 Her purchase was about 300 dollars The bill looked and felt fake and it failed the pen test She said she got it from the bank I wouldn't take it So she asked to speak with my manager My manager takes the bill because I refuse to The next shift comes along and turns out the bill was fake 😂

When I worked at Walmart, we had to call a manager I had it happen twice The first time was an older lady, and she had just gone to another store and gotten the cash back The second time was a younger guy, and when my manager tried to explain, he got mad and thought he was being accused of knowingly trying to use a fake bill As he left, he was screaming stuff to us and other customers I lie to them and say the machine is acting up and I need a manager Really didn't want to get yelled at

People used to get so mad when I would do the marker at the store I used to work at when I was 18 I remember they’d be SO offended cuz we had to do it on all bills over 20 So if they paid with four 20’s I had do do each one with the marker I would go real fast but they’d still almost always say some snide remark like “yep I’m a conman, didn’t ya know” or the good old “do you just decide based on what someone looks like if you check their money? Didn’t check the lady before me?” Like yes sir she gave me a five and a ten The rule is I have to do this on all bills 20 and higher I don’t make the rules My boss does 🤦🏻‍♀️

I used to work at a retail store and one time we got a large bill that was old, it didnt have the line when you held it up to the light and didnt register in the cash checker I had to call my manager to verify it
