You re using the log chart to check the trend Ben, if they try to return to the means of the trend looking to this chart, that means they will still overly expand their money supply comparing to mid 1900s economic growth Even this mainstream idea could be very optimistic😄 Usually what FED does is that they sweep a lot of money away although they cut the fund rates They are very good at shadow tightening😉 Comment from : HamidiyeLegion |

I know absolutely noting about economics but I would have to think the M2 supply contracting is a long term positive Hopefully this will reel in inflation Obviously short term, it hurts But honestly can't believe the stock market is holding up as good as it has, given how accelerated the money supply is contracting Great info, sir! You are the best!br1 Question: If thats so, why crypto valuation is so low? 59 in yout metrics Like, if we are going down to find more fair valuations, in case of crypto, isn't it already fair?brbrcya <3 Comment from : Mário Vilela |
|
Given that the valuation of risk assets is inextricably linked to Fed liquidity, would it not be logical to assume that risk assets will follow Fed liquidity back down to the trend? Which, in the case of the S&P, would mean a sub 2000 market? I do not see what would justify the notion of a range bound market Comment from : EnFuego |

Great explanation for M2 Thanks Ben Comment from : Nghia Nguyen |

One thing you should look into is the M2 money supply of other big economies, when you add those to the us m2 chart you get quite a diffferent picture Comment from : BESTECAR |
|
M1 is more important in my opinion, because thats the money that can instantly purchase things and the chart of M1 shows a big problem we have with our monetary system M2 shows that too, but M1 is more impressive Comment from : TFN_Coaxa |

M2 money supply refers to the broadest definition of the money supply, which includes cash, checking deposits, savings deposits, and other time deposits Reducing M2 money supply can be achieved by implementing various monetary policy tools, such as:brbrRaising Reserve Requirements: Central banks can increase the amount of cash that banks are required to hold as reserves, thereby reducing the amount of money available for lending and deposit creation This decrease in the money supply will lead to a decrease in M2 money supplybrbrSelling Government Securities: Central banks can also sell government securities on the open market, which will decrease the amount of money available in the economy This will reduce the money supply, leading to a decrease in M2 money supplybrbrRaising Interest Rates: Increasing interest rates will make borrowing more expensive, which will reduce the amount of lending and borrowing in the economy This will decrease the money supply and lead to a decrease in M2 money supplybrbrFiscal Policy: Government can decrease the budget deficit or increase the budget surplus, which will reduce the amount of money circulating in the economy, leading to a decrease in M2 money supplybrbrOverall, reducing M2 money supply requires a combination of monetary and fiscal policies, which can be implemented by central banks and governments to control inflation and manage economic growth Comment from : Nostromo |

Ben is saying money supply is positively correlated with risk assets, if so, it's probably a good idea to hold cash until risk assets decrease? Comment from : Blood Tributary |
