Molly is so right!! We are Universal people, and we were so shocked and disappointed to find that Disney value hotels were not ANYWHERE near as nice, or as affordable, as the comparable Universal ones! (Dockside, Surfside, and Adventura) Even the “moderates” (Sapphire and Cabana) are usually in similar price points!

First of all, I love your channel and I watch one of your videos almost every day! I agree with the last comment that I don’t want to cook on vacation! That being said we do usually bring our own snacks and a backpack to the park Another great way to save money that’s not talked about very much on the Disney bloggers that I follow (mainly All Ears) are all the military discounts I know they don’t apply to everyone but there’s a lot of people in the military! It includes retired military members as well The discounts we get on the park passes our second only to the Florida rates I believe And there’s always military discounts on hotel rooms Again, I know it doesn’t apply to everybody but I think it’s worth mentioning from time to time because someone watching you may be in the military who doesn’t know these things Or they may have a good friend or a brother that’s in the military We get six specially priced park passes per year that we can share with anybody as long as the military member or spouse comes along We can also reserve two hotel rooms with the military price I am the spouse and I’ve taken several family members who are not in the military with me on my Disney trips Anyway keep up the great work!

She’s incorrect You don’t pay for parking at hotels AND theme parks If you’re staying at a Disney hotel you pay parking there but you can drive to the theme parks and park there for free

Also, drinks cost about $4-$5 a bottle! When it’s hot, you will spend that money Publix has BOGO deals on water and Powerade Even full price an 8 pack of Powerade costs $7 and $4 ($32 for 8!) in the park I pack half frozen and half refrigerated bottles We leave the cold refrigerated ones out and the frozen ones turn into yummy slushees My family of four drank 2 each day

My family buys Disney gift cards I get 5 off at Targrt using my red card We save those up throughout the year & are using them to pay for almost our entire trip

Bonnet Creek is also a great alternative because it’s on property and close to everything, yet it’s a fraction of the price + you get all of the amenities: Kitchen, multiple bedrooms & bathrooms and washer/dryer There are also multiple pools, activities and a water slide

While some people like the pin trading/collecting I find it can be expensive My family collects the coins you can get in the machines all around the resorts and parks You put in 2 quarters to pay for it and a penny which gets grinded into a new coin with a new Disney image Each machine has its own print of a character or ride etc My son has a large collection from the three trips we have taken to Disney World My daughter has some too At only 51 cents a piece you can't beat it

My tip is buy a hydroflask style water bottle and fill it with ice before you leave your hotel You can get water at any of the water fountains and at Starbucks but it'll stay colder longer It definitely gets hot in Florida so paying $4 for a cold bottle of Dasani water is insane Bring your own bottle and save some $$$$

Just a note about the parking comments: If you are paying for parking at a Disney Resort, you are NOT going to pay for parking at the parks

Camping at Fort Wilderness is loads cheaper than staying at other resorts, and you don’t have to pay to park!

I found this on the Disney help center "If you are a guest staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you receive complimentary standard parking at Disney theme parks for the length of your stay You must present valid Disney Resort hotel ID to enter the parking lots" brOf course you do have to pay for parking at the resort hotel you are staying at

I've always stayed on Disney property but recent increase in Resort costs are HIGH They show up to 40 off but it's still way higher AFTER their "huge discount" Once the Magical Express is eliminated, that's going to add way more to the cost 😕 Makes me sad

Also a trip for international visitors you will probably want to go to the American shops/attractions like target and Wallmart to see them so a car/ride share can really help with other stuff you might want to that most people will gloss over

no doubt it is great to stay on property but the savings staying off property are enormous My family stayed at a VRBO for a fraction of the price after that experience it's hard to justify staying on property again
