What's the noise level on a 22 Mag (rifle)? Comment from : Rancher KLG LKM |
I have the Omega 36M love it sounds great but wanted to shoot larger calibers so I went out and bought a Dead Air Primal so I can shoot 45 cal, 10mm, 450 Bushmaster and 458 Socom through it At the same time I bought a Nosler sr-22-alti can for my 22 LR, 57 and 556 guns Comment from : Blazing Gunner 1964 |
Being a year late to the party, I'd say that with my budget being what it is a jack of all trades can would be just fine for me Comment from : maddy murphy |
Personally I will be going with dedicated suppressors Eventually get one for each gun, but it is not a requirement as the suppressor can be swapped Comment from : Tech sir |
How good is it at flash suppression? Comment from : Bafumat |
I like the one can and just get the adaptors needed, I can get more pistols with the money I save on buying specific can caliber Comment from : BLACKHEAT1028 |

Great video, I bought a Omega 36M it runs from 556 to 338 Lapua Magnum sounds great on my PCC's my Scar17S and my 338 Lapua Magnum bolt gun I will be getting a Dead Air Primal after seeing this video that way with 2 cans I can run all my guns except my 50 cal's Comment from : Blazing Gunner 1964 |
I went the do it all route for my first can My first can was the Dead Air Wolfman For me it made sense i shoot mostly intermediate cartridges or PCCs, with a couple pistols I mostly build and shoot AKs and Dead Air/Jmac are hospitable to odd threads I bounce between 762x39, 545x39, 556x45, and 9mm based on pricing and availability; with 300blk and 32acp occasionally making an appearance The short configuration does well for 762x39 and I'm not concerned for baffle/end cap strikes I love it still I may get a dedicated 9mm for pistols, 556 for my AR and maybe a 22lrbrbrThis piques my interest as another floater for my various full size hunting rifles and maybe 40SW or 45acp pistols i rarely shoot while maintaining my mounting options, but will spend the majority of it's life on a 45 lever gun Comment from : TheDesertFox |
Pan AH SEE AH Comment from : F Maraldo |
Tbh, I've never heard a suppressed gun in real life so I wouldn't know the difference Just think it would be cool to be able to not need earpro in my house if that happens but also I think the ATF is an unconstitutional seditious organization that has been wreaking havoc on these united states for decades Why do i have to go Def if someone decides to try to rape and kill my family, fed lords? Comment from : FatRown |
I’m gonna buy this and still get multiple cans Comment from : Manny Moreno |
I don't see how this big boy is going to work on a 9mm or 45 ACP handgun, or 22 pistol I have no rifle larger than 30 cal the Primal is again over-sized So, for my purposes, Primal would be of no interest The big can is best for the dude who shoots AR15 556 to 450 Socom Now without all that said, I just discovered that a pair of foam ear plugs is less than $50 and the ear plugs work with everything from 22 to 458 Win Mag without adapters, no waiting time, no $200 tax stamp, no extra weight lugging around in the mountains, and no need to change springs or things In fact, I through on a set of headphones $15 + the foam ear plugs, and couldn't even hear James whining on and on and on again about how quiet his mom is when she Comment from : rhino ranch |
Well screw yew James @8:20 Comment from : Edward Taylor |
I keep asking that question The salesman keeps telling me dedicated cans Help me Obi-wan, you’re my only hope! Comment from : Michael |
When you have a SHTF bag in each of your cars that contain a handgun and a rifle, you're going to want a suppressor that you can interchange for both That's TWO suppressors, different adapters for rifle and pistol, etc If you have a 22 rifle, you're probably going to want a third suppressor for that rifle The price is going up and up for your purpose of use You decide Comment from : Gerry Martinez |
I bought the Primal, waiting for finalizing, hopefully it everything you say it is Comment from : Giulio Senaglia |
Any chance on getting some more video for the HK53 and Primal? I'm looking for a suppressor for mine and wondering what will hold up to the short barrel but still suppress somewhat effectively Comment from : Joel Dworkin |
so hunting with 450 bushmaster is going to be a little quite this fall :) Comment from : James Gray |
Wow , awesome Thanks For a happy medium Comment from : Fred Riffle |
Great review, puts the suppressor debate in a proper light After waiting a 18 months for one of two suppressors, I thought I wanted one that fits all The one hang up with the Primal is it does too much, and how many people will actually run the gamut of calibers with one suppressor Time is Money, and I would spend the extra cash to get caliber matched suppressors Another consideration is Direct Thread suppressors, saves on additional muzzle devices and weight Comment from : Steel Arms |
1 Can! Thanks Dead Air!brGreat Channel and thanks as always Sir! ❤️🇺🇸❤️ Comment from : Steven Parrish |
the old adage of the "Jack of all trades, master of none"brbrbrbrbrbrI still want it Roflmao Comment from : Vice Richter |
Imagine if they put a single silicone wipe on the end!! Comment from : Scout339 |
how does this compare to say the obsidian 45 when shooting; 45,9 and 300blk in terms of sound? Comment from : Michael ONeill |
Will this work on a Famas though? Comment from : Dea7hWarran7 |
I'd say the law's are about to change I've never seen a silencer in a store in my 30 years of heading to any gun store Now there's 3 cabinets dedicated to silencers Comment from : Jason Devault |
I'd just do a dead air sand man s and the primal That pretty much covers it all Use the sand man for 308 and smaller, use the primal for handguns and big bore like 450bm and shit Comment from : Tyler Tapp |
Does anyone know how to mount a Dead Air Primal on a Ruger American 450 Bushmaster with 11/16"-24 threads? Comment from : radf 9760 |
Would love to see a Primal in the 6” long size range Great review! Comment from : Caleb Jackson |
How about on AK might lessen chance of baffle strike?? Comment from : Country boy Bob |
I'd like this one, later getting a smaller can like the nomad for 556 and use the primal on 45 stuff Comment from : Snow Footprints |
Wonder how this works with 45 acp pistol or pcc Comment from : Larry Georges |
Humm one can, sub sonic ammo Well when sub is available br45,9,22 should be no problem Rifle ammo don't think sobrOne main concern, if you get robbed What's worse, lose of one or 3?brI think to much 🤔 huh Comment from : John Taylor |
Nice Comment from : Sapper308 |
I just can't understand why this costs so much, actually why any suppressor costs as much as they do For pete's sake, its just a tube with baffles I have seen people selling basically the same thing on ebay using plumbing parts and calling them "solvent trapwink, wink" I realize that those are not really a thing anymore since regulations changed, but when they were available you could get one for about 50 bucks Some people may say "oh, but it is high precision machining!" Dude, I can get a new Glock 19 and have enough left over for a red dot and a few boxes of ammo for the cost of that piece of plumbing I guess if it made the firearm "movie" quiet it may be worth it Comment from : Eric H |
Can you compare this dead air primal to the Bushwhacker46 gen2 Comment from : Tcgunner |
People don't hear the one that gets them Comment from : iamthewalrus |
SUPPRESSOR Get it right 30 to 35 db decrease is not silent The sionics unit fitted to m14s in Vietnam was a SILENCER ALL YOU HEARD WSS THE ACTION MOVING You will NEVER be able to own one Alcohol under 100 proof won't sterilize anything by the way Full of💩💩💩💩💩💩 Comment from : iamthewalrus |
I have a hybrid 46, i love that i can just slap it on any gun i feel like and it working, best option to get as a 1st can, and thats the trick 1st being youll want more, dedicated cans I personally feel the 46 sounds better on 9mm than my octane 9 does Comment from : steven warren |
I use 45 ACP ammo so I think this would be the perfect can for my applications I run a pistol and a carbine thanks for the review James Comment from : Roger Anderson |
Best part is the 45-70 is already subsonic! Comment from : Joshua Brown |
I would go Rugged Radiant Titanium, full auto, 30 cal, also shortens to half-length for short work Comment from : King Baldwin IV |
This vs Griffin Armament Optimus if you can only get one, which one and why? Comment from : Eric H |
I will probably purchase one of these as a "catch-all" can that can be mounted on everything I already have dedicated 22, 9mm, and 338LM cans in ATF jail They all excel at one specific purpose, and that's why I bought them The Primal may not excel at most things it is used for, but it can go on anything So basically any other gun I buy is covered And just as important (to me anyway) when I go to the range with people that don't have cans, I can bring this and mount it to anything they shoot So now I don't have to have my quiet shooting experience ruined by wearing ear-pro because my buddy doesn't have a suppressor Comment from : Nathan Foss |
Thanks to this perpetual state of Murphy running amok these days, you can bet this falls under the category of "too awesome to be allowed to continue" Grab em up while you can, my American friends, because the ATF aren't gonna be too cheery about a suppressor that can run on pretty much anything It's too good of an idea, which by definition means that you "shouldn't have it", according to the you-know-whos brbrThis, friends, is why we can't have nice things, because weak-titty politicians are afraid of most of them, or at least they claim to be, while they sit in their gated communities, hiding behind big dudes with the same rifles that they don't want you to have Comment from : Lux Caeca |
So I've heard you aren't supposed to use non 22 cans on 22's because of the lead buildup Anyone got any advice on that Comment from : Snow Footprints |
James, any advice for an associates degree criminal justice/pre law graduate to get a job/internship with an attorney Thanks 🙏 Comment from : Gadsden 1776 |
I would like to hear how it does with 338LM I tried the silencerco hybrid on mine and although it was somewhat effective, I definitely wouldn't call it hearing safe Comment from : Brett Lloyd |
Can you use it on a 300 blackout upper 85" barrel with an a2 flash hider? Comment from : Jason Koivula |
I would love to see a comparison with the SilencerCo Omega 46M Comment from : josh oldham |
This would be a great first can, this would also be a great 5th, 6th or 7th can Comment from : Abe Saldivar |
So this is the way now…you and 4 other “influencers” drop the same video on the same day 🤷♂️ Comment from : Josh Major |
I haven't gotten into suppressors yet (I knowI know) However it's next up on the to-do list Ammo has become a priority as of late but now that that's out of the way, onward I think im gonna go with multiple dedicated cans, might be more expensive but I really only have one true kit that would be fit for SHTF and one as a secondary kit So it'll be a bit pricey getting all 4 of those setup with suppressors, but it's been my experience that there is no ultimate "do-it-all" Anything in the firearms business lol Rather just cough-up the cash now vs spreading it out over time Comment from : Rob L |
I got the Wolfman and regret it It lives on my AR, but it's semi auto only rated, I have to use a brake for supersonic ammo, and I don't like using it on my handgun So I basically ended up with a rifle suppressor that isn't designed for extensive rifle use Comment from : MusicMan1eAnda |
I think i should be sent one to try Comment from : TheTipsyGamer |
Real Interesting James !and Yes Im an old dude that has an Sh-t loadd of lever action 45-70mainly HenryWould love to have you do an accuracy comparison of something like the Primal against dedicated cans at reasonable combat rangesHow About It? As AlwaysGreat Vid Comment from : Gscop1 |
Waiting on hearing protection is a load of crap The snake has been stomped to death and we know that Comment from : Busted knuckle Fishing |
Just what I've been waiting for? Comment from : David Pyzik |
I got a Hybrid 46 as my first can now I'm looking at a CGS Helios and Rugged obsidian 9 Comment from : Phat Jesus |
Why dont they make flat washer thread ons(caliber specific) to thread on the end so if your shooting 223/556 it traps more gas making it quieter Universal up to 454 but quiet with all calibers in between instead of having a giant gapping hole on the end when shooting 9mm Get what i mean? Comment from : michael valiquette |
One for all 450 bush finally gets a suppressor Comment from : alex pocs |
One tube to rule them all and in the silence hide them Comment from : Colonel Panic |

Do ya lose any velocity with a silencer??? Comment from : Michael Sausedo |
The Silencerco 36M ranges from 22 Hornet to 338 LM and is rated for full auto Not to mention its titanium so its fairly light weighing in at 92-165oz I love Silencerco but for those on a budget, Dead Air is a great option Comment from : 556ReloaderNmass |
Hot dog down a hallway Comment from : TheDE4THangel |
Why? Comment from : David Milisock |

I'm gonna buy one but its going on a 458 socom Comment from : Hawgnuts 57 |
