I agree and disagree when it comes to bank accounts In your case or the case of a young couple who are entering a marriage for the first time yes joint everything But when you are starting a second marriage, sometimes this may not be best depending on previous responsibilities, child support, certain debts I fall in that range, what I have done with my current spouse, we do have a joint account for joint household debts Our goal is to become debt free But we both have children from a previous marriages We do consult on loaning money, and big purchases But until some previous debts are satisfied, we find this easier

If I had a do over, I would definitely marry for stability Money problems will difinitely cause a divide in the house Erik this was a much needed subject to be spoken about and maybe you two can go out into your community and teach the young people I soooo wish I had someone to tell me things as a young woman

Again, another great video Will you do a third series on the best way to save for vacations, emergency funds, etc And, please give your thoughts on starting over as a divorcee, financially, that is The struggle was real for me but I was able to come through, with a lot of bended knees and family/friends help I now own my house and was able to purchase a good used car But it was hard I know you don't know that road but you and Tan seem like solid, forward thinking people Thanks and continued blessings

There can be a joint account for bills but I prefer separate accounts in general To each their own People just have to take the time to really get to know a person before deciding to marry them I’m going to know your work history, credit history, relationship history, family history etc All of those things play a part in the whole person concept Credit and money make the world go round, so if somebody isn’t looking good in those areas, they don’t look good to me Just being honest Love doesn’t pay the bills, so I can’t be with someone just for love brI will say to the women in their 20sit’s okay to date a guy with potential and teach him things he may not know paid attention to when it comes to finances and credit He could teach you, as well However, I’m in my mid 30s, dating with potential is out of the window At my age, a man has to have his ish together! LOL! Love these adult conversations that ya’ll have I enjoy watching mature content

I think that you should marry for love with the ability to make money I also think it's ok to have your own bank acct Usually when you meet someone the both of you already have your own acts & when you get marriedopen a joint acct that is to be used to pay the bills That way since you're both working you still get to have your own play money & know that the bills are getting paid bc that's what the joint acct is for

Maybe Discuss the ACTUAL costs of homeownership A lot of Millennials are looking to buy a home but aren't being reasonable/ realistic in their expectations They want right now the life it took their parents decades to build A 3000sf house may sound nice but they havent considered what it actually means to own something like that

I want to comment on the title before I watch the video You should marry for love but money problems will make you fall out of love I been having money problems cause my husband is bad with money and no matter what I do it dont get better I still love him but i am not in love and feel we should live apart I am at that point after helping him get his bachelor degree and he block me from getting minds, where i need a second job to just pay everything So marry someone who share your same dreams that will support you as you support them I marry a lie and base off of love Love will blind you from the truth that a person is hinding
