In my school district we don’t have the option I’ve been paid every which way My first paycheck of the new year cycle is August 25th We get paid the 25th of each month Some years I get my June and July paychecks both on June 25th Sometimes one is June 25th and the other is the next business day or two, or they are both on June 25th It doesn’t matter to me I know how to stick to the same budget all year long If the money to cover me until August 25th is all there at the end of June, I don’t go crazy thinking I have “extra” money I still live under the same budgetary restrictions as the rest of the year

You know I’m planning to be a teacher I’m going into my second year and I think I have a plan on what to do over the summer I’m currently working at RCSS here in Canada and it’s going to be a year at the end of the month😢 but I’ve grown so much and got “promoted” (not really) and I just love it here I work at front end arguably the worst department but I’m a patient women and I can deal with customers on the till, self checkout or customer service desk The way it works here I’ll never get fired or anything so I’ll work here right up to me becoming a teacher I’ll make a deal with my manager when if I can work on summer break and that way I can remain working there and maybe become one of those who work there for 30+ years…

It’s not “getting paid over the summer months” In actuality it’s getting paid for 9 months, but personally budgeting it for 12 months People see this and think “why do teachers get paid when they’re not working” but it’s really the same annual salary and it’s only 9 months worth of pay brbrMost teachers I know have summer jobs Some have part time jobs during the school year too There are two teachers serving where I work, and both of my aunts on opposite sides of the country are teachers and have different jobs during the summer
