I’m a retiree with a Medicare supplement When I broke my leg in three places several months ago,I needed surgery with a plate and several screws embedded After a short hospital stay, they recommended a long-term stay at a facility with physical therapy It really wasn’t long term, just a couple weeks, but I wanted to see if it was covered When I called my insurance agent, before I’d gotten to the question,he interjected in a snarky tone,”Well, what do you want ME to do about it?!”After he happily took my premiums for years Comment from : @eileenegger1466 |
Governments screw up health insurance It’s simple all insurance must offer any doctor, any hospital in US ,any state , any procedure ( approved by FDA ) and any drug ( approved by by FDA) to all patients , 1 price No ifs and or but! Government must stipulate these are the rules of the health insurance game Congress must enshrine this in law and healthcare cost will become cheapest for the best care in the world! Comment from : @luly2323 |
All health insurance is fraud You insure health by saving , not buying health insurance! Comment from : @luly2323 |

Insurance: check with the hospital if they are in our networkbrHospital: check with your insurance if we are in their network Comment from : @googleaccount5225 |

People facing challenges in meeting essential expenses often do so due to inadequate savings during their working years In my family, differing investment approaches and decisions taken in readiness for retirement had extensive consequences, with varied results Now guided by a financial advisor, I'm in my retirement phase Comment from : @LuccaWeber1 |
Ok, but why do I need a sticker that says "If it made sense, it wouldn't be US Healthcare" now?!😂 Comment from : @ksoule1985 |
Holy crap!! Open enrollment at my work so I was hoping for some advice on best plan After reading comments I'm thinking nevermind Comment from : @StompMom5 |
Lets see $8200 out of pocket spent this year so far, and $14,700 in Premiums So a bit shy of $23,000 for healthcare Only a shade over $11,000 in Federal Withholding + Social Security + Medicare But if I go with a cheaper plan, I can have the joy of watching my and my family's prescription costs go from $400/month to well over $1200/month! brbrSo, you know, lose-lose! Comment from : @typrus6377 |
You forgot to mention the optional FSA, available to some--but not all--of the plans you mentioned 😛 Comment from : @kap4020 |

When the healthcare industry is controlled by corporate casinos, you shouldn't be surprised when they act like organized crime syndicates Tell your friends family and reps to ban insurance companies as illegal gambling operations Comment from : @joeturner8184 |
God, I'm glad I can enter a hospital in my country and getting treated without being financially ruined or having to finish a doctoral thesis just to understand my healthcare system Comment from : @scattyork4176 |
My insurance company informed me that they won't cover the potentially life-changing appointments at a specialist that my doctor wants me to go to It's going to cost me roughly $300-400 per appointment, minimum I thought about this video the entire time Comment from : @RileyLulich |
Story time! A psychiatrist I once saw for a length of time, who I confirmed was in my network, ended up being charged to me anyway because she filed my paperwork as psychiatric instead of medical, therefore causing her services to be out of my insurance's network Guess what 19 year old got stuck with hundreds of dollars of medical bills for seeking psychiatric care with no notice at all until the bills came? Comment from : @itstruckmeeveryday |
You know I used to think politicians were scum but now that I know about health insurance companies it makes politicians seem a like cute fluffy bunnies Comment from : @CHAN-ob9gq |
I'd vote med student plan: med students aren't allowed to do anything without 3 layers of supervision, so you'd be getting the doctors' input anyway, even if no one asked Comment from : @KyleRayner12 |
What about the IN-NETWORK benefits but the tiered 1 and tiered 2 options! Comment from : @jjong4u |

Hahaha I can create my own narrative by speaking to myself too; see: "Do I like and resonate with this guy's ideas?" - "Yeah, but he's becoming a pushover and even comedically he has run his rout already will he shut the f up? He speaks nothings into the ears of folks who would never see him because he is a useless dod-rotten good for notten opthamalogist Comment from : @danielzarb-cousin8074 |
My daughter is now going through the “here is the doctor in your area with availability, but we won’t pay as we don’t remember you choosing that one” Comment from : @dang6832 |
sometimes the incompetence can work in your favor Like when i was in the hospital they made a mistake on my forms, and switched one of the letters on my address so the place they tried to esnd bills to doesn't exist I tried multiple times ( and documented them) to get them to fix the error but they never did So now I have no bills because they keep sending them somewhere that doesn't exist, and if tehy ever try to bring legal action against me, I've already won Comment from : @etherraichu |
I just finished a training program for this shit and boy-howdy do I barely understand it PPO? Get care from whoever you like but your benefits might not be as good and you'll pay more, HMO? More affordable but you gotta pick certain people in certain service areas to give you your care (less range), EPO? Specific people from specific organization or no care for you I'll stop myself there Comment from : @youknow3881 |
Medicare advantage is a disadvantage I have so many old ladies discharging from the hospital who are denied snf when those same conditions are auto approved by Medicare Comment from : @uog293 |
You should’ve chosen the plan that has you become an Australian citizen, live in Australia and get free healthcare so if you get sick you can live and not be bankrupt Comment from : @Forscythe80 |

We Americans love complaining about the issues of our country, but we won't do anything to fix them, because "THATS SOCIALISM! IT WILL KILL US ALL! JOE BIDEN IS OWNED BY THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT!!!!!!"brbrbConspiracy theories and politicizing everything, including common sense, comes free with your US citizenship!/b Comment from : @chaosXP3RT |

What do we do? I’m serious What the hell do we do about this? I’m getting to the point where I feel better spending all of our money on medical care than the military Comment from : @kurtbarks6270 |
Born in Sweden, Full Healthcoverage from first breath to last my only OoP expenses is the equivalent of 10$ a day and that covers bed, three meals and basic cable during a hospital stay, which is only when we're in hospital Gotta love universal health care Comment from : @TheDarkstormy |
"You can only be operated on by med students" 🤣 a very under-appreciated line! Comment from : @liliamaeda7936 |
I've actually heard an (American) acquaintance say that the fact that there are SO MANY gofundmes for medical bills was actually a GOOD THING, the system working properly, because employers shouldn't be required to pay for anything but your productive time, and it should be up to individuals to freely take care of each other if they choose Respect tanked pretty quickly there The values and logic of some peopleeven the supposedly God-fearing ones Comment from : @lizcalizy |
Dude must work for the insurance company to have this many options Comment from : @richardrisner921 |

😂 Comment from : @rhianna2914 |

“Oatmeal raisin cookie, uck “ spot on commentary! Comment from : @kerrifife7869 |

The us healthcare system: where I had to study things like “COBRA” and “HMO” and how in-network versus OON works and bullshit drug tier lists so I could finally understand the hell my family went through when dad got cancerbrJesus Christ, this system is fuckedbrbrOn the bright side, if you live in Nevada, you always get Medicaid! (Or was it medicare No, medicare is the one for seniors) Comment from : @nineparr3110 |

I prefer my method It's called "To Hell with it, I'll just die" Pretty self-explanatory Comment from : @JohnTheRecoilJunkie |

On my health plan, I can get 5 doses of any prescription my doctor considers necessary! 😃🥳brbrThe 6th dose, of course, is only covered if my doctor defeats a tiger in combat in order to fulfill the prior auth requirements Comment from : @melanieodhner4686 |
Took ages for my dad to explain what PMO/PPO/HMO was in our family's health insurance planbrbrI still don't even know what they actually are I just know not to go out-of-network Comment from : @ElemXCR |
Literally one of the reasons I want to work for state government, the insurance is dope af (still very confusing, tho :/) although I finally got a good Medicaid plan figured out, so I'd be ok staying on that too Comment from : @yaboicolleen |
Honestly given my experience with the two, I'd trust my healthcare needs with my veterinarian before most of the doctors and nurses I've met if insurance would actually cover it Comment from : @ChillyJack |
How can you Murican can still be alive, with Samsca cost $480 per tab, while rest of the world only pays for $15 per tab? And no, that’s not generic version of it Comment from : @arapaimagold8088 |
How is this shit still a thing Comment from : @alexanderjosefsson4729 |
Hi from Australia! Way back in 2009 I went to USA with family and loved the people I met But when I collapsed in my Las Vegas hotel room after a day out in the August sun, all I was trying to say to my sisters was "dont call an ambulance!!" I assumed I would have to sell my house to pay for it! Luckily the hotel sent a lovely in house medical person to our room instead Was only dehydrated but very grateful I escaped without an enormous bill Sorry you guys have to deal with such unfair health system Comment from : @missmollydex7163 |
But wait there’s more! We’ll also include pharmaceutical care but at a rate of you don’t know what and good luck at finding out XD, you could call the number on the back of your card but you won’t get in touch with an actual person; instead you’ll play phone tag for hours on end! Comment from : @purplpeanut |
That is insanely absurd How can you guys go to the moon but can't figure out how to take basic care of each other? (From a Canadian perspective) Comment from : @francoismenard6704 |
I'm waiting for a Home Plan just like in Soylent Green except that I don't have to walk there under my own power Comment from : @lanceknuth5300 |
Forgot the plan that only covers the brands if medication that are in shortage so you have to pay out of pocket 10 months a year Comment from : @darcieclements4880 |
Why? Why is this so true? Comment from : @doomsdayaddams2894 |
😂😂 This is waaay too accurate I wasn't a fan of marketing employee group benefits It made me crazy the number of business owners that didn’t want to take care of their employees Comment from : @KitBlueMedia |
This is the mis-information or comedy It is not remotely related to actual health insurance plan however, the medical field is highly regulated by the government, not using free market mechanism One third of Americans are covered up by Medicaid They don’t need to pay a penny for their medical service the rest of population is ripped off to some extent Comment from : @johnw4748 |
“Covers all chiropractic care, but not the potentially devastating consequences” For real There was a case recently of a chiropractor snapping a guys neck and giving him locked in syndrome The chiropractor didn’t have liability insurance, of course, so the ER doc and the radiologist who treated him after got sued and had to pay out $4 million dollars Comment from : @alexh4935 |
This skit is so accurate! As someone who had to do a gofundme page so I would be able to keep my insurance plan so as not to loose the coverage I needed for my rare condition with an expensive diagnostic process and treatment plan, people don't get how hard things like these hit people If I'd still lived in Texas, I probably wpuldnt even have a diagnosis for my may thurner syndrome that caused pelvic congestion syndrome along with my rcvs If I'd filed for unemployment while not being able to work from the intense pelvic, leg pain and swelling 24/7 that got worse when sitting down or standing, id be at risk for losing my plan since I wouldnt be in the same income bracket and I'd have to start over or pay high deductibles before my venogram Unfortunately people didnt understand thus process even after I explained it and accused me of being lazy It took me a long time before I got a diagnosis since docs didnt take me seriously besides my pcp, so if I lost my pcp I'd have been screwed My friend was kind enough to make a t shirt in his online store to try and help me Only medical professionals were the ones to understand what i could possibly be dealing with and a few friends who bought a few shirts It has been insanely frustrating Had an angioplasty done during my venogram to see if opening up my iliac would even relieve my symptoms bedore stenting is an option since I fell just under the criteria I'm thankful I'm in MA now, but if I'd been in TX, it would have been really bad for me Especially as a full time single mom It hurts my heart when I hear about others in much worse situations😮 Comment from : @LoveYourself1487 |
Good luck having multiple pre-existing conditions… Comment from : @purpletetrisdragon |

Omg, there IS a negative babinski! The toes curl down very very subtlety in the negative! What you describe is the mute sole! Comment from : @patrickgebetsroither2969 |

My friend randomly passed out the other day She gets to wait 2 months to see a Dr because of the combination of Dr shortage and insurance crap The whole system just makes me feel powerless and crushed Comment from : @fearreavers |
