At my shop you will get spot plus for almost everything right now The more you sell the better the rate too (think a tube of eagles vs a monster box) We can often beat SD and JM bullion for our sale prices as well We only buy under spot when it’s small deals like 20 oz or less due to the transaction costs and labor Also, if it’s no name refiner bars you will get less You get the most for coins, especially Silver Eagles People tend to forget how much overhead there is for a local shop, like the documentation requirements for transactions, AML documentation, reseller certificate, business licenses and other types of regulations we have to follow (and pay) Online dealers have way less overhead, so most mom and pop shops can’t compete brbrIt’s also my personal device to always buy from local shops When you buy online, there are data brokers who are tracking your online activities and they sell that to the highest bidder When online you are willingly giving away your address and all your precious information

If you go to Mexico, or any other country that is having inflation problems, but Mexico in particular, you will notice that they use the Libertad, and they don't go back into Fiat, they "spend" the silver, they don't sell it

I'd prefer to deal with the buyer directly via Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, etc and meet at an office within my bank to where I can directly deposit the cash from the transaction The buyer will pay more than spot but less than spot + premium You meet somewhere in the middle for price discovery I'm waiting for PM's to explode in price before selling which means a financial collapse which may occur as early as 2022 Timing is everything; but no one can time it perfectly either Buy in panic and sell in hysteria The cure for low prices is low prices and the cure for high prices is high prices as Rick Rule likes to say repeatedly

I compare to our local gold and silver dealer and in most cases their price is as good or better than online without the risk and hassle Right now their premium (in Canadian dollars) is $717 on 1 oz and $795 on Maples, but they also pay $150 over spot to buy back your Maple and $078 to buy back 1 oz Bigger sized bullion has less premium both ways You are correct though, there are sometimes some deals online but the online prices can vary significantly

When you sell back to the dealer you can do it immediately which is an advantage, but that comes with a hefty loss because the dealer buys at spot If you want to get a better price, you'll have to look where you want to sell and if you choose Ebay, it may take long if ever your metal is going to sell, even if you offered at a competitive price
