Silver Evans
Do you need a 6 channel amplifier to add a DSP
Comment from : Silver Evans

Riff Crypt
100 disagree So long as we're talking about a vehicle that needs modern features added like car play/android auto, rip out the head unit first So many times the problem isn't oem speakers it's the crap head unit Years ago I switched out the head unit on a Ford Fusion and never touched the speakers, didn't need it, sounded unreal with that 1 upgrade
Comment from : Riff Crypt

Z4 Dude
For my BMW Z4 e89 with the “BMW Professional” head unit it will be the speakers Why? 6” full range speakers in the foot panels, 4” full range in the doors and 4” full range in the corners behind the seats They are all crap
Comment from : Z4 Dude

stacey martin
A few years ago had a pioneer head unit with door speakers 4ch and mono amp all fosgatebest set up I ever hadbut I became obsessive constantly playing with the sound and ideas of more upgradesmy set up felt like my petthis time I'm trying to keep it simple so I'm thinking head unit >5ch amp >new door speakers >and sub I'm considering a dsp but feel like it would just allow that obsessive monster back out the cage
Comment from : stacey martin

Ozkr palminteri
My personal suggestion is just add 1 tweeter on each door, and a powered subwoofer, it would make a huge change on ur sound and u won't spend that much money
Comment from : Ozkr palminteri

Good things
Amp and sub first

Ochard KEO
In my opinion: Invest in a head-unit if yours doesn't have auxillary input or Android Auto / Apple CarPlay 1 Sound treatment 2 Speaker install 3 Amplifier 4 Equalizer or DSP
Comment from : Ochard KEO

Darth Obscurity
These car audio guys on youtube have a lot of knowledge on the subject but it seems like almost none of them actually have talent for working with this kind of stuff brbrUsing equipment to adjust sound levels and not going by what sounds good was really bizarre I've met tons of 'pro' stereo guys before and I had never seen anyone use a meter to adjust levels until I came to youtube
Comment from : Darth Obscurity

Spencer Knutsen
im upgrading the audio on my 67 beetle, which only had one single speaker in the dash from factory, so I'm basically building my audio system from the ground up, I did a head unit and two rear speakers first, because theres nowhere to mount one in the front (the dash spot now houses gauges) and they currently just sit behind the back seats on the carpet with no box Need to install front kick panels for speakers, as well as get speakers to put in them, and will probably get a sub for the rear as well
Comment from : Spencer Knutsen

Avin R
I did speakers first and went with high sensitivity for the same reason you mentioned, factory unit not very strong lolbrIt worked out well for me!! Sounds way way way better I also added sound deadening
Comment from : Avin R

Ivan Latković
Dsp Well for me its just to much, dont have time for watching tutorials how its work Its just not user friendly for noob
Comment from : Ivan Latković

Micho_37
I just bought a bone stock 1986 rx7 and the furst thing i did was change the head unit Once that was in i noticed 3 of the 4 stock audio system speakers were blown I got some basic 4 inch pioneers for the front and 6 1/2 inch kickers for the rear All in im into it less than $500
Comment from : Micho_37

Joel Nieves
Whats the ñame of the radio
Comment from : Joel Nieves

vachna va
Does the sound have any improvement if I only upgrade the speakers by using the amp in the car?
Comment from : vachna va

Diego Ram
Hey guys so I know nothing about stereos and speaker Should i go to my local stereo shop to get the job done or is there a recommendation on where to take my business? The only thing i know is best buy? 😅
Comment from : Diego Ram

MickF
We have no sub in our 2015 Buick Enclave, and I really don't see where we would fit one So, we're pretty much dead in the water with #1 #2 is where we're at and where we've been at for several years I want the stock head unit replaced, which has no CarPlay, no Android Auto, and poorly written software when dealing with USB and Bluetooth sourced music files Can the aftermarket head units drive new door speakers sufficiently?
Comment from : MickF

Ashish Vishwas
My budget is 250 USD can you suggest something
Comment from : Ashish Vishwas

Dante Vega
The thing I am concerned with is you mentioned budget in the title but said nothing about prices
Comment from : Dante Vega

Hindukush
Good explanation for a boomer to handle 👍👍🤟🤟
Comment from : Hindukush

Matt Fischer
Agree with a lot of the comments, upgrade factory radio, but with a caveat You should know your long term goals and buy the head unit you’ll need for the future Taking a note from PC building, you’re buying into a platform even if you’re not buying all the components up front
Comment from : Matt Fischer

house chillin
2nd should be optima battery
Comment from : house chillin

Dylan Fay
Doing my door speakers first because it’s already got a new head unit that is probably trash but the speakers are 27 years old and are definitely blown and even the ones that aren’t blown have no bass at all
Comment from : Dylan Fay

Nathan Martinez
think ur cool?? brbrbrbrbrbrbrbrCuz i do <3
Comment from : Nathan Martinez

Jerry Hart
Mark if I want to start a bigger car audio system where do I start first alternator or power wires first or what mark

MJ Krivansky
My upgrade path is based on budgetas head units are fairly inexpensive that's my first upgrade followed by speakers as they can be inexpensive too Followed by the more expensive gear in order of personal affordability

Facts with Reese
i added coaxial to rear and component speakers in front of my hyundai, the sound has definitely gone better but I haven't used any amp and Im using a stock head unit, what would you suggest to get even more attractive/ better sound?
Comment from : Facts with Reese

FadedPixel
I appreciate all of your advice! I have a question, can I install an aftermarket head unit, an amplifier, and a subwoofer before adding an additional amplifier and aftermarket speakers?
Comment from : FadedPixel

Rulerpaco Valenzuela
I added jl audio tweeters as well an amp and ten inch subwoofer I used the kicker converter and I am happy with it because it has the audio sensitivity to turn on the remote wire brMy car does turn down the highs and not the bass when in high volume
Comment from : Rulerpaco Valenzuela

Alon Haim
If you had a $5000 budget and you wanted to upgrade a Base Meridan sound in a 2023 Range Rover how would you spend your money? I'm more interested in clean crisp highs than crazy base Would love your input Thx
Comment from : Alon Haim

Antione Foster
What is the radio is so trashy and stock that you have to listen to radio 24/7???
Comment from : Antione Foster

MomoDontKnow
A car audio place told me 2 days ago I'd have to upgrade a 2023 Souls GT line limited versions Battery, Alternator, wires, head unit, capacitor etc Before I could replace the sub in the back with a dual 12" 2400 watt (1200 each) Do I have to do all that prior to putting a new sub in the back? I'm not knowledgeable and have no clue if they just want more money from me or not
Comment from : MomoDontKnow

Craig Sharpe
I'm new but I thought the head unit was first also He even says the head units sets the foundation for the quality of sound Not sure why you'd have a woofer and amp not working to its full potential
Comment from : Craig Sharpe

Anthony hamoui
I keep blowing subs and speakers I really wish I could have you work on fixing all my mistakes it would make good video lol
Comment from : Anthony hamoui

Mr V
Can anyone help? I am thinking of purchasing the aftermarket Eonon Q04PRO stereo system I want to do a big bass custom audio upgraded system in my R34 Nissan Skyline Sedan I dont want my fenders rattling, but I am willing to go as high as I can with power right before the rattle would even occur Any advise?! brbrThe Eonon unit says there is a built in DSP, so this is good? But can't find any further specs for it Also the following:brbr- Max Amp Output 4x48Wbr- A 48-band graphic equalizer br- Power Bandwidth: 20-18KHZ br- RMS power (CTA-2006): 18W br- RMS power (manufacturer): 24Wbr- Peak Output: 33Wbr- Preamp Outputs: 5- Channel

ambesa1
Replaced head unit after 0:51 20 years stock everything Replacing that head unit with a full screen unit inspired me to upgrade speakers and wire all speakers directly to unit bypassing the old factory wire harness All starts with radio radio radio
Comment from : ambesa1

mason langgaard
I do agree with most things said in this video however if you have a factory subwoofer you could be fine my friend had one with a 65in sub that sounded horrible and we hooked up 2 12 in a box at the correct ohms and it completely transformed his system
Comment from : mason langgaard

Jentrely Frankson
I need to put us audio system in my car for my 2015 Nissan Altima what’s the best affordable Soundsystem I can buy ?
Comment from : Jentrely Frankson

drumkid330
In my opinion, if you have a pre 2010 vehicle, and plan to upgrade your system, or even if you're dipping your toes into the car audio world, i would absolutely recommend you start with a head unit brbrHigh or low end, itll help you get a feel for the interior of your vehicle, and how your amenities ultimately function On top of bluetooth/aux (and depending on your choice of head unit, navigation) capabilities!brbrAbsolutely beneficial if youre installing your first amplifier
Comment from : drumkid330

terell white
He literally just trying to sell stuff There is no need for a DSP Nor to buy 2 amps Nothing about this is on a budget
Comment from : terell white

Aftermarket head unit for example Alpine has built in dsp?
Comment from : Jagmeet Rai

Knole Buddy
I'm going to do the head unit first mostly because mine is already messed up and as much as I would like to have a sub woofer I have a small sedan and space is at a premium so I am going to do the speakers and that's it
Comment from : Knole Buddy

Sean in LB
Plan to spend the most on Speakers and amps😮 spend the most 1:1 compared to lenses for videography and photography
Comment from : Sean in LB

MrMohawk
Hey there! Cool video! So I just got this old 2001 Chevy S10 pickup It's got this old tape-stereo unit that I really like I'm running BT through one of those FM-senders you plug in the 12V socket It sounded quite bad I Took the doors and back pillars apart and the speakers were probably factory installed and completely dried up paper cones Got new speakers, sounds better for sure but I'm not getting very smooth bass from 6 1/2" so I'm looking at installing a smaller subwoofer I need this vehicle for work so I really want to use as little space as possible and I really want to keep the original stereo Is there any underseat sub that's worth the trouble or are they simply crap? I don't need a lot of volume but I do want that deep freq bass Also, can I some get BT through my stereo without switching the original Chevy Dolby stereo unit?brbrAny response would be appreciated! :)
Comment from : MrMohawk

ttpersonalaccount
Head unit would be my suggestion as the first That’s your singnal and feature source😊
Comment from : ttpersonalaccount

Comment from : Googoo Gjoob

Rafael Lopes
Do you really need a DSP if your aftermarket radio already got an equaliser?
Comment from : Rafael Lopes

VivaLaFiesta
Do you Really need an LOC if the aftermarket head unit already has subwoofer RCA outputs?
Comment from : VivaLaFiesta

Mike Lawler
Ha My first upgrade vehicle will be a 56 so, it'll have to start with head unit and speakers because it actually has the factory radio and single dash speaker
Comment from : Mike Lawler

Charles J Gartner
I have a sub/amp and don't have a line output converter what does it do and why would I need one? (you briefly explained what it does, but I kind of didn't get why I need one since my system sounds fine)
Comment from : Charles J Gartner

southpark159753
So you got EQ from the HU, some eq on the amp mostly hpf/lpf, and EQ through DSP, which one do you use?
Comment from : southpark159753

southpark159753
To add to his list, a headunit with built in cross overs if your not using an amp can make a lot of difference Set rears at 40Hz and front at 140-180Hz
Comment from : southpark159753

MrMustangMan
cd player died so head unit is first
Comment from : MrMustangMan

Anthony Falante
I just added a alpine h,u, a Rockford fosgate punch 4 channel 300w amp driving 2 power series 650ts mids be and 2 power series tweeters up front and fosgate punch 6x9 's in rear doors and a single 10" jl audio sub in a ported groundshaker box, powered by a blaupunkt 3000dsx1 mono block amp,it hits hard enough till i can afford 2 12" power series subs
Comment from : Anthony Falante

Drey Goss
What speakers are shown in video?
Comment from : Drey Goss

Tyson Swing
Good video Sub is always a good upgrade for most cars, even modern ones unless manufacturer did a good job, for instance 2016 Golf R with premium sound has an insane setup with wooferbrbrRegarding what after a sub, I would say it really depends on how old the car is and if the car stock speakers are just paper cone with weezer cones If you're on paper cones with weezers, hands down replace those with either component or 2-way speakers
Comment from : Tyson Swing

MyfoneDied
I started with upgrading the front speakers😂 I feel dumb
Comment from : MyfoneDied

66skate
When you have a Ford with B & O Unleashed, things get more complicated and $$$$ I've found adding an amp to power the whole system is a big project Sounds Good has an adaptor to add a sub and sub amp at a reasonable $59 I'll be replacing the door speakers and run them on the stock amp
Comment from : 66skate

1977music43
Seeing you hold that Pioneer hesdunit, I found the software on their AVH-Z7200DAB headunit to be garbage I wish I'd stuck with Alpine!
Comment from : 1977music43

Edward Taylor
DSP, is that an Equalizer???
Comment from : Edward Taylor

Edward Taylor
I want to have 1k continuous watts, what type of battery should I go with and can I stay with my standard Alternator? What’s a good brand for setup for amp & subs ( I Like JL)
